13:25 - I still have no idea why Microsoft didn't just cut the computer component out of the Surface Studio and sold JUST the monitor portion as a high-end creative display with pen input capabilities. It could have been a strong entry for a more office-oriented hybrid touch+pen display for digital whiteboard, handwriting, markup, design and illustration uses. It could have complemented the Surface Pro well with a single USB-C cable, allowing you to take work from a smaller mobile screen to a LARGE desktop screen while using the same pen for both. It probably still wouldn't have been very cheap, I imagine $1499, but at the very least it would last a lot longer without attached aging hardware, and would serve as unique answer to Apple's $1600 Studio Display while still being SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper than equivalently sized Wacoms. (Personally I would've liked to see it offered for like $600-$700 though if it existed.)

Unbelievable! It's mind-blowing that photojournalists have rated the most overprocessed smartphones as first and second place. While the photos might look acceptable on a phone screen, they fall apart on a computer screen-oversharpened and riddled with artifacts. How can such results be rated so highly? We should give credit to Chinese manufacturers for collaborating with real camera companies to deliver more natural and true-to-life photos.
Same, would kill for a high resolution, 3:2 monitor like it that isn't saddled with middling laptop components that drive up the price and will be obsolescent in just a few years. Especially if it supported that weird dial, which was pretty neat and useful the couple times I got to try it.

Mac Mini is not a very good value if you consider the cost of storage the offer. Good lord that's a rip off. Unless you're obsessed with that particular form factor there is really no reason to go for that.
Can people not just use older cameras for smaller file sizes? But yeah it’s a trend that I’m not surprised by. I’ve been thinking for a while about how technology has really peaked for regular people, and even most video creators now. Most people are still fine with 720p or 1080p, and a lot of people would happily sacrifice picture quality for alleviating storage concerns.
So you said song A9III won the people’s award but the graph you showed the data for the staff awards with Nikon as the top camera? I also agree with the point about the Sony 300mm should have been a contender for best lens. If a product is announced one year but not available until the next it can’t be tested properly you guys might get an early version but user want to see the production versions which have been evaluated in multiple situations
I thought podcasts were made for opinions, PC or not, that’s why we watch them..else gear reviews are dime a dozen on YT. @Jordan, I appreciate your comments about Rudy’s re-employment. - A Nikon user.
Nikon fans are among the most closed-minded and fanatical. I remember last year I suggested Nikon Z needs F1.4 lenses on some forum. and Nikon fanboys jumped down my throat insisting no real photographer wants 1.4, 1.4 is redundant, 1.8 is just as good etc . Now that Nikon actually released an F1.4 lens, suddenly they all love it. I expect these same people thought mirrorless was just a fad for amateurs until 2018, when it suddenly became the future of photography.
Tell me that you're a Sony microwave user without directly saying you're a Sony microwave user :D JK... Fanboys are obnoxious, whichever clan they worship...
@@shang-hsienyang1284 37years? That’s very exact. That’s taking me back to 1987. I think the official www was launched in 1989. I would suggest exaggerating on TH-cam is one of the behaviours of the Fanboy species and that you may actually be a secret Fanboy.
Also, if the lady (Natalie) who does the entertainment video work would like to reach out, I'd like to know a bit about the support and videography side of the industry. Have FX, not squeamish, would be an interesting niche to work in. Also, 4k and 6k are far too revealing of the flaws a lot of people don't wanna see when they are browsing the tube. Too much reality is probably not what people want on the menu. Just gimme 1080p and make it star trek soft. My mind will fill the gaps in.
Great information. I would never buy a lens that uses in camera optical adjustments. I know it allows for more freedom in lens design, but what happens ten or twenty years down the road when the lens is no longer supported? On another note, where do I get boat book shelves? Those are pretty cool. Would be great in a lakeside cabin!
Mac Mini is only a bank for the buck at base config. If you add any RAM or storage it is already double the price and will perform worse than a similarly priced PC.
That m4 Mac Mini winning computer of the year is just and a no brainer. And macOS is SOOOO much better than WInblows. I built PCs for 12 years, then went to iMac in 2015 and I will never go back to Windows. I hear it's getting worse recently too.
I am always fascinated by the increasing sharpness of the new lenses although I do not fully understand how the manufacturing, science, or technology have so improved as to make them reliably. My question: For a low light street shooter now working hand held at speeds generally below 1/100th of a second and 10,000ASA at full aperture, does working with a better, more expensive lens make any difference ...at all? The inherent blur and shake wipes out any fractional precision in the optics. For street photographers who often have no time to even look through the viewfinder it seems that the heavier lenses are a waste of money. It also seems that AI is heading in a direction as to make these "poor quality" shots appear even better than the very best technically perfect shots that the most expensive camera technology can now provide. In fact, software AI will soon be able to improve upon all the factors that have driven the camera industry to optimize all their products. AI will be able to make better pictures out of a throwaway pocket camera from 20 years ago than the very best camera technology today. As an aside, I think you will soon need to be spending more time looking and comparing editing software than you will camera equipment of any kind.
I have a VR head set. It always makes me feel disoriented, and if I try to game, I normally get motion sickness that last a long time. After about 10 attempts to get used to it. I just tossed it in the box and was done with it. I wouldn't take the gamble.
MacMini is a good pick. But it’s not portable. The entry level Macbook Air I would argue is the best portable choice. Light, highly powerful and competitively priced.
Jordan is a treasure and these intros keep getting better and better

Glad Canon USA got wise and brought him back.
As usual, brilliant Podcast! Nevertheless, Jordon, how about some video tips and demonstrations? Kindest regards, Ian
Samyang's 35 1.4 was already great, just big. Their 135 1.8 gives the GM a run for it's money for example
I thought podcasts were made for opinions, PC or not, that’s why we watch them..else gear reviews are dime a dozen on YT. @Jordan, I appreciate your comments about Rudy’s re-employment. - A Nikon user.
NIKON NIKON NIKON NIKON LETS GOOO
Its ok, i know there will be a drinking episode... Surely?
Nikon fans are among the most closed-minded and fanatical. I remember last year I suggested Nikon Z needs F1.4 lenses on some forum. and Nikon fanboys jumped down my throat insisting no real photographer wants 1.4, 1.4 is redundant, 1.8 is just as good etc . Now that Nikon actually released an F1.4 lens, suddenly they all love it.
I expect these same people thought mirrorless was just a fad for amateurs until 2018, when it suddenly became the future of photography.
Prove it. Link to the forum post or it never happened. :-)
yeah 1.4 is redundant when the 1.8 is perfect already
Tell me that you're a Sony microwave user without directly saying you're a Sony microwave user :D JK... Fanboys are obnoxious, whichever clan they worship...
It's been like this for 37 years. Sometimes I wonder if they were really fanboys, or did they have a some financial incentives.
Sony won all editor's awards for prime, zoom and camera and was not voted photo company of the year? Well I can live with Sigma 🙂
NIXON DID NOTHING WRONG
THE EEK AND THE HAUST, JORDAN IS A NATIONAL TREASURE AND SHOULD BE PROTECTED AT ALL COSTS
No alcohol abuse? I'm disappointed. Pentax Camera of the Year!
Saturday.
@@PetaPixel when Chris has sobered up fully. Contrary to that podcast....
So basically anything Apple makes wins. I mean the iPhone update was one of the most lackluster updates.
No Camera Strap of the Year?
Or Accessory of the Year?
Sigma GFX lenses when?
Mac Mini is only a bank for the buck at base config. If you add any RAM or storage it is already double the price and will perform worse than a similarly priced PC.
Really this should have been disclosed.
Love seeing sigma crush it this year
19:50 this week business people sure do get hurt!
That m4 Mac Mini winning computer of the year is just and a no brainer. And macOS is SOOOO much better than WInblows. I built PCs for 12 years, then went to iMac in 2015 and I will never go back to Windows. I hear it's getting worse recently too.
What is it with all these translations? I wanna see this content in english, but all texts are german. thats annoying!
(Fast forwards ad read)(TH-cam hits me with ad)
Same I questioned myself about Samyang. Where is the L-glass…
28-70 f/1.8
28-105 f/2.8
28-70 f/2
Success recipe… start the zoom at 28mm
… jupp!
How is Samyang not the photo company of the year? Were they even on the list?
Do best superzoom next year?
