i feel like you need to show how to deal with curved and angled bars. that's where the bevel becomes a lot more of a challenge to the beginner.

Hmm okay, hadn't really thought of that. I might see if I can do a follow up at some point.

Yeah my letters have a lot of curves, the only reason why I searched how to do beveled letters

Happy new year, loving the videos. I watch em all. Just an idea, you were talking about doing videos for beginners which is great. but what about something more advanced, for someone who understands the basic techniques but could do with some information about how to create extensions that flow nicely, manage negative space or how to make a nice composition, etc. i think that would be great. Cheers!

Thank you sir . and a Happy New Year to you .. What are the pencils you use . are they the luminance..? i currently have a few Caran D 'Ache pastel pencils i am using for shading etc

Hey man, Caran D'Ache are my preferred brand of choice. I go for the Supracolor version because it's one of th softest and smudges easily which is what I'm after.

Second comment but oh well I gotta say it. These are the best graffiti tutorials I’ve seen on TH-cam.. SIVE does a pretty solid job as well but i think these are a bit better…

hey whats up man, i have a question so i use stylefile markers and the tip gets ruined so quick do you think its because of the paper not being the right one? but the paper i use is standard

    • @CUTEMKUltras
      @CUTEMKUltras  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Interesting question- I've never had this problem, my tips seem to be pretty robust. Are you using a smooth grain paper or something that has more of a tooth?

Try using a lot less pressure. You don't need to push your tips to the limits. Try not to swish back and forth like you would with a crayon.
Instead, make more deliberate "strokes" to cover the area.
If it's patchy, let it dry for a few seconds and give it another layer.
This is why some of us would call this " laying down some ink"...
      Just try not to scribble.
Also, most graphic marker tips can be removed and flipped so you can start with a fresh one without wasting any unused ink.
      Best of luck.
      ;)

    For the beginners:
Draw a letter. Outline the letter. Connect the corners of the outline to the ENDS of the original letter.
Instant bevel. It doesn't have to be perfect... Yet.
Or, draw a box letter. Outline the box letter. Connect the corners.
Instant bevel. It doesn't have to be perfect... Yet!
It also helps to use graph/grid paper when you start to keep your line widths the same.
Vary the distance between the original letter and the outline for larger or thinner bevels.
This is an old trick for people coming up to just put up straight letters, and do them quickly.
    Curved lines are no different.
    Draw a letter.
    Outline the letter.
Connect the ENDS of the original lines to the corners.
    The the letter C first.
The same goes for block letters.
    Corner to corner.
Takes all the thinking it of it!
    Give it a try.
You'll soon see just how simple it really is.
    Make a mess!
Good to hear that you're feeling better man.
Happy new year and best of luck here in 2024.

G'day mate just wondering if you've used this technique in a piece would like to see how it is done within a piece with different lines and curves of the letters

    • @CUTEMKUltras
      @CUTEMKUltras  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@TRENT698- I’ve never used bevels when painting a piece mate as I always used standard fades when I paint letters. I mostly paint characters nowadays. If you need a good example of bevel painting try BASIX on Instagram, he’s a master at them 👍🏻👊🏼
