    Let me give you a tip. When I was a kid, I had a guy in a car open his door on me and I crashed into it. That was in the 50's or 60's. I've been riding motorcycles since I was thirteen, safely. Don't be so reckless when splitting a lane or riding alongside parked cars. Get a rearview mirror on your bikes and have situational awareness. I have riddened far and hard, but awarness has kept me accident free.

    By the way, I found out how to adjust the headlamp correctly without removing the front basket. Loosen out BOTH screws on BOTH sides of the lamp(look carefully). This will give an extra degree of upward adjustment and is perfect. Then tighten in all 4 screws. Try it because that basket is really great.

    Anyone looking at a used T1 make sure it’s the strengthened frame version , the first ones like the one in this video were recalled due to frame snapping , FIIDO just sent out replacements which is great of them but some unscrupulous owners may try to sell them on , do your research and study the videos on TH-cam , one giveaway is the new one has a rear kick stand while the original had a scooter style stand nearer the seat post .

      I weigh about 300 pounds, and I was able to take it over 30 miles on a full charge, but I was concerned about the battery running out, so I had to switch to lower pedal assist for most of return trip of that ride.

    I almost got one of these but opted for an Alibaba ebike as the specs were higher and was about the same price. Specs are 55km hr, with a specified range of up to 280km using pedal assist and 150 km just electric, I doubt these specs are correct . Have done 80km using throttle only so far and had used up 1.5 batteries, riding fast with lots of stop start. 1000w motor, 2x 48v, 22ah batteries. Throttle is like a motorbike which I prefer and does maximum speed just using throttle or can pedal assist if you like also, the display is awesome and in colour, has great front suspension but the rear suspension is a bit average (easy cheap fix), has a massive headlight, indicators, rear brake light, multiple pedal assist options, walk assist also, key start like a motorbike and has an alarm. Very happy with the purchase but also love the bike in the video also. I'm happy mine has the 2 batteries because you can run with just 1 battery till dead then you know you can make it back home using the spare.

I ask just incase your not aware of the recall , contact FIIDO with your frame number and they will sort out a replacement with the strengthened frame , the old ones snapped, if you bought it second hand then chances are the seller kept the replacement bike .

      I think 28-30 miles is plenty fast enough, but I saw somewhere on the internet some instructions on how to change the speed setting so you'd be able to get up to 45 mph. I don't think I want to do that, after already crashing at 30 mph. That hurt enough.

    Great review. I'm starting to see this T1 crop up a lot in my YT feed recent weeks and am seriously thinking of getting one as it's had positive reviews. Must admit, the squeaky brakes would annoy the crap out of me but apart from that, it's got a lot going for it. Just gotta find a Fiido dealer out here in Malaysia that sells them. Cheers buddy and stay safe out there 👍

    • @cjaquilino
      @cjaquilino 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've seen a handful of complaints about squeaky brakes. But mostly I don't see that as the major complaint. It definitely needs hydraulic disc brakes instead mechanical ones.

And my local bike shop has been able to work on it for basic things like helping me get my new fork on there after my crash. I don't know of any brick and mortar store for Fiido in the US as of now though.

    Surely a bike capable of those speeds NEEDS hydraulic brakes or at least disc brakes especially for the payload it states it’ll carry. This is obviously to save money but things like safety should never be skimped on. I was watching you zooming past and in the middle of moving motors and if one was to open a door there’s no way you’d have stopped at those speeds with the poor brakes. That’s why they squeal so much.
    I had a 50cc scooter at 16 which only did 30mg but to think of a motorcycle with rubber pads is madness … it’s all about cutting corners to keep the costs down I guess.
    Can I ask, how did you have your accident? The “dangerous girls, brake failures or just going too fast.
    I’m in the uk and have a one in a million condition called SPS (the one that Celine Dion was diagnosed with not long ago and currently have a liberty electric trike but it’s soooo slow) 12mph max but I’m wondering if the 4” tires would give me the confidence of stability) I used to race mtb downhill so it’s all there it’s just this shitty neurological condition that makes you doubt any shiny floor to walk on etc let alone 30 on a bike but it looks cool.
    You live in a beautiful place man, I wish I did. I’ll swap you for a month and guarantee you’ll have a new appreciation of that stunning beach and glorious weather. Thanks for the review and slow down before you total yourself … and that poor burrito 🌯 😂
    Edit - 14:20 would have been a great time to show us the horn and see the tourists jump 😂

    How is your battery life now? I bought the fiido l3 recently and it is the main thing that worries me, that the battery won't last the advertised 800 charge cycles.

    • @fatguyonanebike3909
      @fatguyonanebike3909  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have no idea how many charges I've done on this, and I will admit that I do not let the battery fully drain before charging because I simply want a full charge for work the next day. The longest I've gotten on a single charge is roughly 30-35 miles, and I ride with top pedal assist as much as possible. Good luck and safe riding to you!

      I have L3, I already charged it about 100 times or maybe a little more and it's in good condition yet, I was charging it from 0 or 1 bar to 100% everyday, mostly I was working on deliveries, now I'm using different PEV and most of the time L3 is stored.

      I have yet to run out the battery, but I was riding with a friend with a super old single gear beach cruiser, and in order to keep his pace, I basically just shut the whole bike off, and pedaled. It is possible, but it is literally pedaling 80 pound bike around. It feels very sluggish and inefficient.

    You may like to know that you can pick up semi- hydraulic disc brakes from Amazon for the front and rear fit this bike. A guy on TH-cam has done it here in the uk for about £30 each but remember to keep your old brackets/mounts to put them on and he’s eliminated the squealing noise and hopefully made them more efficient. For god sake slow down going past parked or moving cars as if a kid or anyone was to step out you’re going to kill them and possibly yourself. You have a duty of care man. Imagine if it was your child or family member - it’s not a car or motorcycle that they can hear.

      My normal ride is to work and back, about 3 plus miles each way, so about 6-ish miles a day. I think the most I've done in a single day on a full battery is about 20 miles, and that dropped me down to one notch above half a battery charge. I would have to guess with even being on the highest pedal assist, we could get 40-50 miles out of this thing on a full charge depending on hills and whatnot.

      Well, to be honest, I got myself into a little driving trouble, and that is why I purchased this bike. I was planning on not being able to legally drive, but still wanted to be able to get around my town, to and from work, and even to run errands and do limited shopping. I know the price went up for Fiido T1 $100 since I bought it back in the beginning of April. I bought it from electricbikeparadise.com. They set me up online with Klarna. I wanted to do the 4 payment plan, but for whatever reason, it only let me do the monthly plan through Klarna, which put me at $90 a month, and added about another $170 or so to the overall price with financing. When I was shopping around, this was literally the cheapest bike that had everything I wanted. I know rad runner wants to nickel and dime you by charging extra for fenders, lights, a rack, a basket (or at least they were doing that at the time I was shopping around). Fiido T1 was all inclusive. Best of luck to you. Maybe you don't have to get this same bike, but I know electricbikeparadise.com has almost every bike imaginable, and they exclusively use Klarna for financing (I know, I never heard of it before), and I don't know if having a bike like this can really get much more affordable than $90 a month. Here in California, that is currently $15-$20 less than a single tank of gas on my 2002 Tacoma. Best of luck! Thanks for watching!
