I love seeing Mensur’s pure and immense joy after winning. A nice contrast to players shaking their head after winning and complaining their average was not high enough.
The obsession with averages has ruined the game a lot for me. They make it like averaging below 95 means they've played poorly, yet most professionals season average is around 90-95.
It's ma infested itself at lower levels of the game as well. Even on twitch dart streams where players are averaging 45 it is being mentioned. It's borderline insane.
Yes it is nice, but he's too laboured for the modern game, chucking people out of their stride.

And still he managed an average of well over a ton from the 8th leg until the end……you won’t get to that without many,many hours of hard work and pain. And he’s around for decades and still competing on a very high level. He’s well over 50 mate and still trying to improve his game! He improved his speed also cause these days he’s playing very fluent and not slow at all….

Littler seems made to be a star. Not only has he got the talent, he's got the charisma as well. He's even got a signature celebration already ("reeling in the Big Fish" for 170 checkouts).
And his signature 2x T18 + D16 140 finish.
Also the 120 20 + 2x Bull this match, and then the 170 which was not just a 170, but a perfect 6-dart 344, matching the 6-dart 350 he did earlier in the year too.

Not really Price and MVG not exactly playing well atm. They keep averaging low 90s. Searle never performs on the big stage only on players championships. Not big shocks. MVG is nowhere near the player he used to be either

I think Mensur is one of the worst opponents for MVG due to his playing speed. When playing a slower player, it gives too much time in-between throws to let a bad round fester (get in his head). When your opponent throws faster, you're back at the oche faster and not dwelling on your last 3 throws. Seems like MVG plays the best when he's playing against equally fast rhythm throwers. The old Adrian Lewis/MVG matches were some of my favorite.

It's not surprising anymore to win against MVG when he kind of likes to trip over himself from time to time, like yeah we know he's world number 2 and got all of these titles over the years. But he's made himself vulnerable and it's not surprising that some odd player gets the better of him.
And oh wow, in all of the 12 matches MVG has been in against Suljovic, this is only his 2nd time winning. Mensur will find himself in a quick outing after this. He's just one of those players, similar to Dave Chisnall, who just can't get it all together enough to win the big one that matters. Despite how well you think he played in one match, he'll mess up somewhere.
