Fun fact: In the Thanos vs Darkseid Death Battle, Thanos not only got the Diavolo treatment but he got it with a touch of of NTR. Then the loop restarts for Thanos.

The fact that Death led him on and wanted him to go on a killing spree because too many people were surviving and even being resurrected in the Marvel Universe and she was trying to balance out the broken system. She doesn't like the undead, so creating one isn't going to impress Her. A massive rush at work is not a present any potential girlfriend wants to receive. He could have used the Mind Stone to make everyone in the universe love and appreciate Death as much as he does. He could have used the Soul Stone and Mind Stone together to make everyone understand that Death is not the end, but a transition and natural part of the universe. He could have used the Soul and Reality Stones to make it so people could commune with their ancestors, allowing them to understand Death better. Worth noting, Thanny didn’t explode Nebula. Mistress Death didn’t actually speak, but used an arbiter to voice her wishes, concerns, etc… When Thanny’s “gifts” fell short to impress her, the arbiter voiced Death’s displeasure with extra snark. Thanny didn’t appreciate his God status being talked down to and exploded the arbiter in retaliation. Nebula would later grab the Gauntlet, deposing Thanny and prompting the Titan to team up with a newly reincarnated Adam Warlock to bring the saga to a close.

What is the point of building up to him being the big bad? Establish him to be a ruthless oppressor only to be revealed that his a big softy inside. No. Plus why you've want to relate with him when his an alien in the first place. Same with thanos. He was called a mad tyrant for a reason.
What mcu should have done is update his motivations. Make him the evil parallel to his comic book counterpart. And if they still want him simping, tone it down a little bit so that isn't his main objective.
Fun fact: In the Thanos vs Darkseid Death Battle, Thanos not only got the Diavolo treatment but he got it with a touch of of NTR. Dude wound up in an NTR induced infinite death loop that ends with Thanos ending up in Death's realm, only to see her making out with Deadpool then Deadpool taking him out with a shot to the heart. Then the loop restarts for Thanos.

That wasn't Nebula Thanos exploded. That was one of Death's servants who spoke on her behalf, because she refused to speak to Thanos directly. Thanos got sick of him speaking on Death's behalf and ridiculing him at every turn, so he made him explode to shut him up and try and force Death to speak to him directly.
And at first she used the servant because Thanos was below her, and then when he got the stones, she used the servant because he was so much above her.

The fact that Death led him on and wanted him to go on a killing spree because too many people were surviving and even being resurrected in the Marvel Universe and she was trying to balance out the broken system.
And then eventually we see exactly what she was afraid of happening when the Cancerverse is created from Captain Marvel killing Death itself.
People defending the McDonald's level Marvel stuff don't seem to understand that the original story is about symbols and what they mean. Thanos loves death but death is a concept, a phenomenon that does not judge, or have bias or care about whether or not one loves "her".
The story is about the paradox of loving death and destruction but in the end character arc of Thanos. It's not about "simping". Lol. That's the point. How can you expect getting loved back and acknowledged by the laws of nature. It's insane. But that's the point. Thanos isn't rational. Not in the beginning or in the middle of the arc. Him being insane is the point. Somehow noone finds it a problem with Joker. But I guess these days it's a bit too scary if you have a mad god as the antagonist. You gotta give him rational motivation so kiddies don't start having too difficult ideas.
Marvel decided that it needs to have a more level-headed reasoning that's relevant to modern audience. In other words, dumbing down because these movies are not really about adaptation, but service for the movies themselves.
I'm old enough to have bought the comics as they appeared back in the 90ties. Kinda sad to see how they didn't have the courage to do any justice to the story. It is a comic, it's supposed to be heavy metal and wildly out there. But yeah let's just give at an environmental theme because it's too risky to have a character that simply loves death so much that he's insane enough to expect being loved back.

The thing is, he didn't do anything She wanted or benefited from. Keeping Nebula in a state between life and death is an insult to Death. She doesn't like the undead, so creating one isn't going to impress Her. And since She is responsible for conducting everyone and everything that dies from life to what comes after, killing half the living things in the universe at once just creates a huge amount of work for Her. A massive rush at work is not a present any potential girlfriend wants to receive.
He could have used the Mind Stone to make everyone in the universe love and appreciate Death as much as he does. He could have used the Soul Stone and Mind Stone together to make everyone understand that Death is not the end, but a transition and natural part of the universe. He could have used the Soul and Reality Stones to make it so people could commune with their ancestors, allowing them to understand Death better. He didn't think to do any of those things She might have actually liked -- because he's really a shitty boyfriend. No wonder she snubs him.

Nebula would later grab the Gauntlet, deposing Thanny and prompting the Titan to team up with a newly reincarnated Adam Warlock to bring the saga to a close.
