I surfed this beach many many times during the '80's and it was out go to place for surfing and camping. It used to take 8hrs to get there by car on long weekends from Sydney because the direct highways weren't built yet. I remember surfing 10'+ waves in a storm and rain that were just perfect with no one else to compete with. The only place to eat served something called Vegan food. Yuck! Now it's all the rage. When I was 20+ I wasn't interested in surfing for 8hrs and then filling up on rabbit food!
