Gemini also established the feasibility of long duration flight that would be needed for the moon missions. 'Gemini 7' spent 14 days in earth orbit with Frank Borman and Jim Lovell. I loved the Gemini Program and I sure wish I still had my models that I made from the sixties.
I bought this particular series specifically because they were all the same scale and make a great side by side size comparison. Also, they are fairly well detailed and have great paint jobs. An overall excellent set for collectors. For those who have these models and want astronaut figures to go with them, there is a good selection for all three missions on shapeways.com. Just search for 1/24 scale astronaut figures.
Thank you, I will check that site out. I like having figures to go with my displays. I got my first astronaut figures/toys at my 3rd birthday party, and ahve been a NASA fan ever since.
@@misha5670 A search for NASA astronaut figures will get you started. Shapeways is a portal for model hobbyists who use 3D printers to make all sorts of great parts for models of every type. Most of the ones who offer astronaut figures offer them in several scale sizes. Here is one example. This would be perfect for the Mercury Friendship as it is actually modeled from a picture of John Glenn. www.shapeways.com/product/6TL7MTMSZ/mercury-astronaut-standing?optionId=63299076&li=marketplace
its funny that time gus was in the capsule on the rocket doing tests and he was talking to the command center and the radio was not working. Gus said, how the hell are we going to talk from the moon when we cannot even talk across the parking lot?
@@definitely_notme4112 oh yeah, that was not the funny part, but gus had been telling nasa for weeks that their space capsule was junk. Wish he had protested harder and refused to carry on
I love how you are doing this other historical videos on models. You defiantly are a historian, you should continue these historical model videos my guy! Just as interesting to watch as your firearms videos. Also, somewhat unrelated, I just acquired a MAS 49/56. Have you had any experience with them? If so what is your opinion? I think they are interesting, I dig the grenade launcher as well as the cool muzzlebrake and ease of cleaning and disassembly.

Have always loved the space race and the various projects.
the mercury and gemini ones be looking like funnels 😂
Fantastic . My favorite is when Neil Armstrong saved Gemini 8.
awesome
I'm not sure if lego has any instructions in braille, but their Apollo Saturn V set is really good.

I love models etc. Do you have any figures? Aliens, Terminator, and the like?
Honestly no, i guess i am more into machines/craft than I am people. Though I suppose a Terminator would still qualify right?
@@misha5670 I suspected so. Although you're right you should have the Terminator at the very least since he is a machine made by other machines😂
And because i really love those movies....well T1 & T2....and I'll admit to a tiny secret enjoyment of T3 even.
@@misha5670 T3 is my guilty pleasure as well lol but I agree the first two are masterpieces
fun fact i have these in real life

Taofledermaus might be able to shoot those out of his shotgun.
Basically, that was how HG Wells's Martians got themselves to Earth in his original novel lol.
Misha lol.
