nursing student here... in the hospital and being asked to decide a nursing diagnosis or even just understanding what's going on with my patient is absolutely crazy, don't even get me started on understanding drugs and their contradictions. You dont sound ignorant at all Faye, you basically summarized what its like being a student moving from theory to practice! I love you so much, take it one day at a time
Usually a silent subscriber but really wanted to tell you how grateful I am for your videos. Compared to most content creators you show real life and are so honest! This really is a positive way of using your platform ❤️❤️
I recently started my first "big girl job" and I've also been feeling the same as you. I'm not a doctor but I still felt like I expected everything to just click into place and I watch others at work that are more experienced than me just know what they're doing so naturally and for me it feels so overwhelming and scary!
It’s honestly been so beautiful watching you grow and transition into becoming a doctor I remember watching your TH-cam channel in the beginning as a second year med student and now your a doctor!!!! congratulations 🎉🎉
34:28 living alone is rough 🙌🏻 hit the nail on the head ! The Biggest Struggle of Man in 2023 !!! There's no balance= either we are overwhelmed or lonely !!
Thank you so much for this - medical student who lives alone in a studio here and I found living alone last year so so difficult. This has shown me/ made me realise that to be honest all I need to do is put some effort in to see friends 🙂 so grateful I watched this because not only did you talk about your problems you gave solutions that made me feel that I could actually progress from feeling down - which is something I definitely need. Thank you Dr 🙂🙂🙂
Faye I feel for you so much. Great and honest vlog as per usual. I think routine is key…also scheduling ‘something’ in the calendar is also key. Be it going to the coffee shop, visiting with a friend, doing some shopping, whatever…. Just getting up and into your routine ( bath, dress, eat, exercise, whatever it is) then on with the day…. Sitting doing nothing is okay of course… once the other stuff is done. I’m retired and have the same sort of issues….. so structure for folks who are used to school or working or …is key. ❤❤
My word, your channel is fantastic! I am about to be a 40 year old Pharmacy Student in the USA - I love your vlog. I can relate to the lack of sleep, the loneliness feelings, and just spending a whole day eating/napping instead of...well getting things done - due to lack of said sleep. I also work full time on top of all the other things. Nice to see I am not alone. I wish you the best on becoming a wonderful doctor!
A very important question to ask yourself Faye is , if there were no social media or platforms would you still be a doctor? If your family were not bothered whether you worked at a grocery store or a hospital would you still choose medicine? If your heart's desire is to not practice medicine there are so many other areas which medicine can bring you to such as research, public health, anthropology etc. It takes courage to admit when something is not for you. Go where your heart is called, for social media is limited, and will one day be obsolete. I hope whatever you choose, that your heart may be strengthened. xx Sometimes our ego must be bruised, so our heart may become full.
I know this message wasn’t for me but I really needed to see it.. just like Faye I’m a new doctor and i feel like I ruined my life choosing medicine in the beginning and I feel so lost like what do I do now, where do I go from here?.. really wasn’t the feeling I expected after working hard for 6 years.
@@noraaa8479 I'm sorry that you are feeling lost, if the message speaks to you it is for you also. What you must acknowledge in this, are the skills and growth you have gained rather than what society deems as "failure". Sometimes we must experience what we do not want, in order to learn what we do want. You are resilient, dedicated, and have acquired invaluable life experience, no one can take that away from you. You only have one life, and one chance to find what your heart calls you to. Life is about making a difference in what we are called to do, rather than resentfully fulfilling the expectations of other people and society. You need to rest and take some time for yourself. Please look after yourself, you must help yourself first, then you will know, but your world around you must be silenced in order to hear your heart. Please remember, we also live in a different world from what we did 6 years ago xx
You’re doing so well! No journey is linear in progress and nobody figures things out or settles in right away - I think you’re doing amazing and I hope the past week or so have gone well🤍
Starting "being a doctor" in november in France, i have been following you for a few years now and absolutely love your vlogs. I can sooo relate it's crazy, hope it gets easier in some ways 😭
Cracking vlog Faye! Glad you managed to pull yourself out of that dark hole of loneliness. I always found trying to keep a loose routine helps me on days where I'm on my own. I have set things that I have to do every day and it makes me feel better knowing that even something got done. Those things are my non-negotiables! Hope you're having a better week! x
I love the videos Faye! Your absolutely smashing being a newly qualified doctor! I’m about to embark on my third and final year of my undergraduate degree in teaching, and just love watching your channel and seeing you grow. Just know your smashing life & your doing amazing 🧡
32:32 actually had me creasing ngl😭amazing video again faye, u have my utmost respect for being a doctor and still giving us such quality content! thank you ❤
When you're really well staffed, of course everyones gonna be really nice and friendly haha. Part of the reason people are rude and horrible is because they are at their limit and super stressed. Also, if you have teaching you don't "give up" your lunch break, you should still have a break in addition to that.
I am a student nurse and just finished a placement in cath labs, i never would have chosen that but it was amazing! I'm glad you're enjoying cardiology!
As a nurse when you were talking about being well staff I thought you were going to say the Q word!! 😂 Love following your journey Faye, congratulations on everything you’ve achieved so far xxx
Bless you. This week looked hard and tough on you mentally and physically. Hopefully the weeks start to get more manageable. The next vlog you'll be telling us you have plenty of friends because you will be making a vlog from inside a prison as you are pleading innocent to the murder off Dylan for leaving you on your own. Take care, good luck and have fun. You are going to smash it being a vlogger and fantastic Doctor
Subbed this morning after seeing your ADHD tips video and I really like your channel! Perfect balance of aesthetic and *real*. Plus I've always been super curious about the seemingly hectic lives of drs and the like. I hope you can maintain your channel (if you want,) and stay healthy and happy! Praying for you to be blessed with good company and the feelings of home this winter season
First, I love your channel and your energy. I am a nursing student and I understand the process of going from student to professional. Being lonely sucks and it's hard. When you became emotional and cried, I did too. I know that making friends in a new place can be both scary and awkward, but it gets better. I would definitely be your friend lol. Your channel is wonderful and real, and I appreciate it.
I know that editing and working is a lot so I want you to know how much I truly appreciate that you do that for us all! You put so much effort into everything you do and I love it ❤ also side note, I have to wear pajamas in the house too haha, I am not comfortable in regular clothes in the house
I just wanted to say how much I love your Vlogs!! 🫶🏻 I’ve been binge watching all you content for the past week and watching all your wholesome videos just puts a huge smile on my face 😊 I wish you all the best of luck in your new life journey!! 💪
I have been really lonely recently. I love my own time and space but I do miss being around other people, which is why I have changed jobs and am trying to make an effort to see friends and family. Seeing you cry made me cry.
currently studying pharmacology, hoping to take the GAMSAT next year, you motivate me so much because I see you keep going even when your exhausted, lonely or have had enough. keep going Faye you've got this!
I’ve just seen your previous blog has hit 200k views that’s amazing Faye congratulations! Loving these weekly blogs they are so fun to watch. Ps your sofa looks so comfy, will be perfect for a post shift relax - looks like a cloud! Xx
i only found you recently and i was so excited when i saw you uploaded. you are such a beautiful soul and it’s nice to watch your journey (this is my second video😂)
Balance is the Key, to a healthy life! Solitude is necessary for a person to reflect and think and grow! It's not that bad, after all. Everything has its pros and cons.
Of course!! My mum was a nurse and the nurses on the ward Im on at the moment have been so supportive during this transition time, so much respect for nurses 💖
Love your videos and it’s amazing how much effort you put into your videos alongside working full time, but have you thought about perhaps interviewing/hiring a editor with the same editing styles that you have? It’s just suggestion, but it might lift the stress from you a little bit x
Yeah, Faye - I LOVE LOVE LOVE adding Kraft Garlic barbecue sauce to baked beans in tomato sauce (I don't eat pork which is why I don't use baked beans with pork). Honestly, I don't like baked beans any other way. And on toast, of course. And I keep forgetting that I have chicken wieners because I also love beans and wieners. A must try - II swear to God!!!
Fairly new subscriber and I love your videos Faye. You are so likeable and down to earth. When you mentioned going for an eye test, I got excited because I'm an optometrist! Do you need to wear glasses? I have a feeling you are living and working fairly near me (I am in Kent, near Bexley) but 20 years ago I went to Uni in Cardiff 😊
As a medical practitioner, I think you need to reassess your priorities - TH-cam should come way after your health, as you need to be fit for the hard year as an intern!
Oh, and I have been meaning to ask you what happened to your friend, Ravi is it? He is an absolute mute and I really miss him. He seemed like such a good friend to you. Did you cry buckets when he, your roommate and you had to say goodbye upon your graduation?
Her Faye! I'm a yr 11 looking into being a doctor in the UK too but idk what to do because idk if I'll get good enough GCSE grades to get into Manchester uni but idk if I should look into unis further away from home. Do you think if I do T-Levels, apprenticeships or something like that I could still get there or near to being a doctor ?
you absolutely could, universities hardly consider your GCSEs and even if you don’t get into medicine the first time you can do medicine with a foundation year (which has lower grade requirements) or could even do another degree and then do post-graduate medicine xx
Same with the beats I have the ear plugs and thought they took a special charger and kept buying the wrong ones and then after 5 months I tried my iPhone charger and it was the right fit😂
My daughter introduced me to your vlogs, I'm 40 and so absolutely love you
Awww so happy you’re daughter brought you here!!! Very happy to have you as part of the community 🤗

I’m a nurse too and totally agree! A big learning curve but it does get easier Faye xox P.S Nurses are you friends and will help you out 😜
please do not worry about nursing diagnoses, i can reassure you that no one else on the healthcare team (other than other nurses) cares about them
