  • This movie is a collaboration with SRC Native Film, Mohawk Club and the 1491s. For the Haudenosaunee people, violence against women was virtually unheard of pre-contact. Today it is a real concern to the youth and to the community today. This portrayal invites both the abusers and the survivors of domestic violence back into the circle, back to the traditional way for respecting women. This project was sponsored by the the 7 dancers coalition. 2014.

Young men, treat every woman close to you in age as if she is your sister.
Treat every woman old enough to be your mother as if she is your mother or your auntie.
Treat every woman young enough to be your child as if she is your child.
Treat every elder woman as if she is your own grandmother.
In this way, the circle of Right Relationship can be restored.
    A'ho!
    Mitakuye oyasin!!

As a non indigenous person on the Autism spectrum I honestly have to wonder if the systemic issues of the twisting of "power" projection within my own Patriarchal culture are a core part to blame for so many children and there development issues. a society that I feel is very alienating within its male power projection structures. what our society has impacted upon indigenous community's seeding "infighting" among indigenous peoples with its Blood quantum recognition layers is even more upsetting. our constitution does not even contain a "single" example of a female pronoun. we have some really deep internal issues to address. this phrase was thrown at me and yes i know its origins In the reality of many realty's ,, How we "see", what we see, effects the quality of our reality ..

    All my brothers & sisters,
Shun the fire-water which has been so devastating to our people.
(and of course, shun any & all other chemicals, drugs or substances which lower one's defenses & cloud one's mind & heart).
This is essential to breaking free of such family & ancestral patterns.
If you are struggling with addictions of any kind, including the 🔥-💦 brought by the colonizers, please seek help &/or support from a trusted friend or elder.

Only people choosing to not be abusive to women will stop it.
There is a VICTIM culture in the U.S.
It pays well, at someone else's expense. The true Predators of this world feed on the unfortunate.

    Nia:wen.
    Wadogh.
    Chi Miigwetch.
Let us all recall the ways of our ancestors & the Original Instructions.
Honor the life-force bringer (woman), for within her lies the seed of the future --
    the 7 Generations to Come.
Girls & women, Sisters, remember to keep your body sacred & holy.
Honor the Grandmothers by wearing skirts/dresses, below the knee.
Practice modesty in dress at all times.
    A'ho!

In today's society in America, it is easy to twist anything into a statistic. Statistics are numbers that help the States and Counties figure out Financial Compensation. The more statistics they can use one Human to fit in they can ask for more money every year.
The system profits from people's downfalls. Tax revenue collected from in mates, paves the county's roads and so on.
If there is no problem there is nothing to capitalize on. Sad.

In the Old Way, the way of the ancestors, it was the grandmothers who sat in Council to decide whether or not to go to war or battle.
It was never for the men or the warriors to decide this, because She Who Brings Forth Life (often in great physical pain) truly knows the value of a human life, & would never choose to squander it, nor to shed one drop of red blood needlessly.

it makes me so goddam mad , we have to start doing something about this type of stuff, it is the same on every reservation , the reason why we are so much alcoholism drugs , and disrespect against our women it is because we aren't doing enough of our traditional government and just speaking the language itself i don't understand it is easy we just have to do it it isn't hard we wont be perfect but it will stop the alcohol drugs and violence it's so tiring and we need a change
