Their earlier title tracks (nightmare series) , some b-sides and japanese releases have heavier guitars and drums. From Dystopia trilogy they're leaning more to electronic + rock/metal, you can pretty much say this is their signature sound now
Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😊 Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point. There are of course heavier songs, the heaviest is their Japanese release "No More". For the Korean title tracks, the Nightmare series is the heaviest.
Dreamcatcher became the differential of Kpop when it risked everything in 2017 in the Rock/Dark concept and, since the debut, they have never, I repeat, NEVER left the concept even though it is the least popular in Korea and today they are a reference in the industry when some other group introduces rock in their title songs! They look like: "Oh, that sounds so Dreamcatcher" and I love it 🥰🥺

Welcome to the world of Dreamcatcher's fandom called InSomnia for you. Greetings from InSomnia of Indonesia branch😁 FYI, the correct sequences from their mv are like this : A. NIGHTMARE ARC 1. Chase Me (their first released mv after their re-debut as Dreamcatcher, but chronologically this is the second after the Fly High mv) 2. Good Night 3. Fly High (the prequel of all the stories in their mv chronologically) 4. You and I 5. What 6. Piri B. NON-RELATED MV 1. Deja Vu (this mv is a soundtrack from a video game called King's Raid) 2. R.o.s.e Blue (this mv is also a soundtrack for a video game called Girl Cafe Gun) 3. BEcause C. DYSTOPIA TRILOGY 1. Scream 2. Boca 3. Odd Eye D. APOCALYPSE 1. Maison (their recently comeback on April 12th) For their Japanese albums, you can also react to their mv : 1. Breaking Out 2. Endless Night 3. No More 4. Eclipse (this mv is a soundtrack for an anime called King's Raid : Successor of the Will) And they also released a mv called SHADOW (there are 2 versions, which are ORIGINAL version and SLOW version) as a soundtrack for a Korean horror-thriller drama called Dark Hole. You can also react to the mv and I promise you will be amazed by their strong yet beautiful vocals. I strongly recommend for you to watch that drama, I can guarantee you will feel thrilling and breath-taking by watching it. Thank you again for this reaction video. I really hope you'll reacting their videos more. And one thing I can guarantee to you : All of their mv are TOTALLY AMAZING AND ROCK AS HELL!😎🤟
Hello. Nice reaction. Dreamcatcher is my top favorite K-pop group. Dreamcatcher is a really unique and amazing K-pop group. Dreamcatcher's most songs included in B sides are great and awesome ! If possible, not only title tracks, please react to Dreamcatcher's live (showcase) performances (or Mini concerts) and their albums (B-Sides songs) too. Maybe you'll get a lot of shock. 😉 Thanks. From N.Y.
Really Really check their bside. Their bside is different from Title track. Our trinity fan fav is Red sun (trap edm) Black or white (funk jazz rock?) Sahara(help with genre) And then check out Whistle Lock inside the door Starlight In the frozen Wind blows Break the wall (evanescence vibe) But if u want it more rock their japanese songz and korean bside like mayday, tension, wake up and others are rockier.
dreamcatcher \:D/ all their songs are different and their discography fills up the entire musical genre chart. the dystopia trilogy you mentioned you would start off first is more electronic and mainstream than many of their other songs. they really aren't metal because the vocals are more upfront but they use a lot of metal influences and at least instrumental wise a few of their songs would be considered metal.
What are some of your favourites? I didn’t manage to listen to all that many songs of theirs before kpopflex, but my favourites so far would probably be Piri, Deja Vu and Boca✨ (I listen to scream the most though, so honorary almost-favourite mention for that!)
@@Landyra personally a lot of their b-sides are better than title tracks. the dystopia songs(scream, boca, odd eye) are some of my least favorite in their discography lol :) try bsides that have either special clips or performance videos like red sun, black or white, wind blows, and there was no one left... are some of my favorites. but like I said their discography is diverse so there will always be one who likes one side more than another side.
I like more electronic, rock sound so Dystopia: Road to Utopia is my favorite EP. Also if you liked BOCA then check out Diamond, it is a bside on Piri's EP and it also has Moombahton combined with rock but it has a harder guitar sound. Also Good Night is their hardest korean rock title track but if you care about storyline it's better to watch Chase Me first.
@@Landyra they also performed at the Primavera sound festival in Barcelona and the event was more exciting than kpop flex because those watching were not only K-Pop fans and there were some songs that were rarely played on Korean music shows
@@rin7109 primavera sound isnt inherently more exciting. it's more prestigious! being a fan of several performers makes kpop flex festival more exciting depending who you ask. i dont think they are to be compared
Hey, check out their Japanese releases, all of those totally heavier than the 'Scream'. And all of the title tracks of previous saga, 'Nightmare', all heavier than 'Scream' as well =D
@@Landyra To me it was like the starting of Dreamcatcher's new saga of watering down their signature heavier rock sound but still instilling rock sound element in their title track as usual =) 'Scream' is like the start of the second saga storyline, 'Dystopia'. While the first saga storyline of the 'Nightmare' series definitely much heavier, and not so much reverb or EDM sounding stuff =) By the way in the exact same album as 'Scream', there is B-sides like 'Break The Wall' and 'Sahara' sounding much more intense rock, anyway these are all my favourites =D
@@JoanKSX that album also has Tension which is heavier and originally supposed to be part of the Nightmare Arc. Not my favorite from the album but still a good song. I really wanna hear the English version as a studio recording though.
I want to start out by informing you that one member was missing here and in the Boca music video as well (both of the mini-albums were missing her vocals). She went back to china to film something but got STUCK there because of very sudden overly-strict travel restrictions; she was stuck for almost a year! But at least she was with her family while there. Han Dong is the only foreign member. She was very sorely missed while she was away, by the group members themselves and by the fandom. She's amazing and the group just was not the same without her. We were all VERY HAPPY when she returned to South Korea and was able to rejoin the group! She even did reaction videos for what the group was doing without her, bless her. Han Dong makes an appearance in the music video for Odd Eye. I want to see if you can spot her. :) Yes, Purple-Haired JiU RULES! I luv her so much! She has changed her hair since this but this remains my favorite color on her. Her hair is fried these days because of this stuff so I don't see her ever going back to this purple (that's a real shame) but it is totally understandable.
hi! need to explore more... and they have heavier songs, besides Dreamcatcher plays with his b-side, jazz, Nu-Metal, rock, EDM with rock... almost 20 different genres... LIVE vocals with live band AWESOME....
I knew you would like this! I'm generally into more softer songs but I feel like I could wrestle a lion or run a mile without breaking a sweat when I listen to this! Which makes me think... this would be a great song to work out to! Gotta try it sometime 😂 Thanks for the reaction Landy! Love you
Welcome to the Dreamworld.. your expectations are understandable. Dreamcatcher itself is the genre. So you can expect pretty similar vibe in every one of their title songs. If you want to go for other genres, their b-sides always cater for every needs. Enjoy your stay in the Dreamworld.
Hey, thanks for your interesting reaction to Dreamcatcher! If you prefer something more heavy, have you checked out "Rolling Quartz" yet? They also have an awesome cover, hommage, remake of Dreamcatchers "Good Night". Apparently the producers / directors of both groups worked together for this
Yeah, the director of RQ's Good Night works for the director of DC's Good Night, so many talks were had... 😁 And RQ actually _have_ done a cover of BTS' Dynamite..! 🤣
The funniest thing. I tried to find the Live Band version of Scream, from Dreamcatcher's legendary Crossroads Part 2: Dystopia Online Concert to show here how hard the song gets, and I could only find the Bossa Nova version of Scream, from the previous day, Crossroads Part 1: Utopia. I guess MyMusicTaste eventually cracked down on videos from the concert. I could only find the Dystopia version of Boca, which is the next song they played. One day they'd make a slow Bossa Nova version of the song, the next the Hard Rock version. Which shows us how versatile Dreamcatcher can be. Here's Boca, Live Rock Band Version: th-cam.com/video/5Kp7mTDVIeM/w-d-xo.html
You must check out deja vu this is an amazing song (all their songs are amazing) these somer girls are talented in everything and there are so many reasons to make them a serious stan. They have a very interesting storyline in addition to a lesson

others may have said this but Dreamcatcher's discography is very eclectic, but if you want their harder stuff then you want their Japanese tracks. Probably because the Japanese consumer tends to favor metal and rock is more mainstream there unlike in Korea, so the girls go full tilt in their J-tracks

As someone who didn't like Scream at first listen, it took me a long time to appreciate the intricate sound that it has. A lot of their songs are slow burners imo and need certain kind of mood that fit the songs. But either way, welcome to the dream world. I hope you enjoy your stay.😌
They share the stage with idols, but they are not idols. They have the Beauty of Angels, but they are not Angels 😇 . They have the Magic of Wizards, but they are not Wizards 🧙♂. They have the Enchanting Charms of Fairies, but they are not Fairies 🧚♀ . They are the Guardians of Dreams, They are the Legendary Dreamcatcher 🌙🔥⚡🌹☀✨🌌🌎❄⌛
they also performed at Barcelona's Primavera sound festival and became the first K-Pop group to perform there
yess, I saw the clip that went viral from when they greeted a disabled fan while waiting next to the stage at primavera - they seemed so kind 🥺
Their earlier title tracks (nightmare series) , some b-sides and japanese releases have heavier guitars and drums. From Dystopia trilogy they're leaning more to electronic + rock/metal, you can pretty much say this is their signature sound now
