It's so interesting, it doesn't really even sound like a pedal made for their sound...until you play their riffs, then it's spot on. Wild.
It’s very much a “less is more” type approach.
Just ordered mine. Very dynamic and transparent pedal from this demo. Exactly what I'm after.
Also that Les Paul is a stunner 👌
Thank you! I hope the skeleton key scratches the itch you have. Also. Please like and subscribe!
I still enjoy my PDF 1 and SFT for the Queens sound.
Those are two pedals on my list to try out. Tbh. I’ve never heard of the SFT till now. You sent me down a rabbit hole of tone! 😂
Ha ! Just like me, you get the mud and you can go from here, I also have a MXR GT-OD which is a great addition to this kind of sound
The beginning was perfect for tex mex tito y tarantula 😊👍. I use the skeleton key for a lot of sounds (often combined with something "muffy"). Otherwise I stick to the stone deaf PDF-2 for queens. Great review though, really enjoyed it 😊
Thank you!🙏🏻 ❤️ 🎸
Just ordered this one. I also have the PDF-2, I like it but it's a difficult pedal to switch between clean channel and overdrive (the noise difference is just huge between the 2 modes 😅)
@cyriljanssens8339 I’ve always wanted to try the pdf-2. Kinda sucks about the change. I’ve got an Ibanez wh-10 that’s about unusable in a live situation for this same reason. BIG volume jump.
I was givinen this pedal ...it is an overdrive.super soft clipper
Yeah. Very subtle. Not very saturated at all.
I wonder how would this pedal sound on bass. I like to think that it'll get you the oliveri's tone
I’ve yet to try it. It’d be worth a shot.
@@MineLikeMeMusic i'll love to see that
@lucho_bass give me a follow and I’ll be on it soon. Lol.
@@MineLikeMeMusic Alredy pressed that red button
Thank you so much for the support!
When did you place your order? I ordered mine like 2 months ago and still don’t have it.
I ordered it when it was announced back in May, I think? I didn’t get it until September. Andy will send a newsletter by email to update everyone on what’s going on so you might want to make sure your subscribed to it. He’s a 1 man show so it takes time.
Says if you ordered before October, we’ll have it by Christmas
@@gajapiI ordered mine September 7, it shipped a couple weeks ago. I hope to God it's not held up in customs somewhere!
@soupyschitz 🤞🏻 I hope you get it soon!
@@AllofJudea mine must be shipping soon, I ordered mine september 18th lol
take a shot everytime the camera angle switches for no reason
Its a known issue. And noted for future edits. Thanks for your feedback.
Saw 1 min of vid... bought one 😅
Oh my god the constant camera switching is making me sick!
Noted 😂
Fucking annoying
Tried watching but the camera switch kicked me out, sorry dude!
Noted. And a known issue. Lol. Thanks for giving it a shot though.
Explain how a pedal made in 1991 is supposed to emulate a band that only formed in 1998 who never used said pedal.
also sounds nothing like qotsa.
if you want qotsa tone there are a million ways to skin that cat. This is like using a rusty butter knife to skin said cat.
The pedal wasn’t made in 1991. The maker of the Skeleton Key also made a pedal that was called “1991” which is Pearl Jam Ten tones in a box. The QOTSA tone is definitely subjective. How do you go about making your QOTSA tone?
@@MineLikeMeMusic depends on the album/era. I use an axefx for most of what i do. First two albums has alot of ampegv4b on it, i found heavily tweaking the hiwatt sims and lots of mid boost into a 10" IR gets close. zvex superhardon/box of rock helps. SFTD they used a bunch of pawnshop practice amps, mostly peavy dominion. Eric valentine, their producer, did a whole video on it. At the core it's all about progressive mid boosts with the v4b. But really it comes down more to josh's fingers on his ovation, and he bought out every single one he can find and put them in storage so people stop trying to copy him.

I’ve seen that Eric Valentine vid. Great stuff!
I don't want to be a keyboard warrior be sheesh your lack of research is evident to confuse thier 1991 vs the skeleton key. Congrats you have a fantastic axe fx, so do you need this probably not. But for people that are chasing this tone for cover bands or what not yes this is pretty damn close I think with humbuckers it sounds more convincing either way your negative spouting on somebody's channel is ridiculous. It's a review go bark at the creaters tree if your so displeased.
