An Easier Way to Transition From the Base to the Body of a Bag
มุมมอง 112K8 ปีที่แล้ว
I made a video a couple weeks ago about how to move from the base to the body of a bag using a BPSC. It's the method I learned from following a basket pattern back when I was still learning to crochet, and it's the method I've stuck with to this day. I've always had a good feeling that this other method would work, but I sometimes forget to try new things and just get stuck doing the same thing...
How to Do Flat Tapestry Crochet WITHOUT Switiching Hands!
มุมมอง 46K8 ปีที่แล้ว
If you're like me, you can't use your non-dominant hand for anything. Now, with this easy-than-you'd-expect method, you can do flat tapestry crochet using only your dominant hand! No more fumbling around as your opposite hand refuses to cooperate. This method is really a game changer. www.AllTapestryCrochet.com All-Tapestry-Crochet-933888913397734/ www.pinterest.com/alltapestry/

    I tried this several years ago, following your video, and it works well - but I prefer to just carry my yarn, 😂 even when I’m working in the same color, I just have 2 balls of the same color.

    would you have to go through the front loop on the wrong side if doing flat?

    Hi I’ve just got one question! When you get to the end of the row, and you turn the work - is the ‘back loop’ whichever is furthest way from YOU or just the front of the work? (E.g. one row I work into the back loop which is the loop furthest from me, I finish the row, turn my work, am I then working into the loop furthest from me still, or the loop closest to me because I turned the work around?) hope this makes sense! It’s hard to explain which out showing it 😅 x

    • @LadyZamos
      @LadyZamos 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know that this comment was from a couple of weeks ago, but just in case someone else had the same question: in this case you would use the back loop when you're on the front side of your work, but when you turned you'd be doing the front loop. Usually if a pattern says back loop only then when you turn your work you would continue to work only in the back, furthest loop. When it comes to tapestry crochet though, if you're on the face of the work you're stitching in the back loop, if you're on the backside you're working in the front loop that's closest to you. It would be the front loop to you, but it's the back loop of the project.

      If you want you can cut yarn at end of each row Or do what I do. I just chain 10 or more depending on what you want and then fold rhe work and then start back at beginning. Oryou can learn to reverse crochet. If you are rigjrhanded it's just going in thru the back of the work and flick kf the wrist. You might fond a video or 2 somewhere. To see it being worked.

    Ok, it's hard for me to figure out the "yarn over" and "yarn under", the only thing I can figure out is that the yarn over, the yarn is actually beneath the hook, and yarn under, the hook is turned down and the yarn is beneath the hook. Right? Then you pull through, aren't you technically doing the same thing? "pulling through"? Also, I find the "yarn under" awkward. I'll just have to try it and see. I'll come back!
