I like using those attribute calculators that show how good a player in a role, regardless of their familarity, so it was good to see your example of Ramsay in the video. Always good when you're in a pinch to know, at least by attributes, where someone can fill in when you need to tinker!
There seems that playing FM had 2 different methods. One is playing a topteam on downloaded gegenpress hysteria tactics. Sign and sign. Reapeat. - and simulate alot. Brag and shout about your " Haaland scored 181 goals before Christmas results. The other one. Play a Malllorca or Montpelier with bringing in one or 2 youth per season. Sign 1 or 2 smart low price players. Make your own tactic built around the original tactics in the game. Win the cup and have some season in the Europa League over 10 years. Be quiet about your save but really love the game and the magic of the universe you build. I know my fighter... ! Now on to my Mallorca save already miss it.
I know what you mean, although there's no right or wrong way to play the game in my opinion, enjoyment is king at the end of the day. I feel over the years I've shifted from number 1 towards number 2, but the realism aspect is something I definitely need now. Even in saves with the bigger sides, I still like to make sure things are approached in a realistic manner, rather than just wonderkid hoarding.

I don't use them personally, but they are an excellent tool! Yeah there are always solutions in a squad, some are just more hidden than others!
