Chiemon actually finds solace in Jeanne's flames in the bad ending when he uses it to kill caster. A bittersweet moment really. Perhaps in those flames, he saw how beneath the purity and unshakable faith of his stoic servant, there was a human girl, a victim like him who was wronged by the evils of the world

Somehow I'm really glad this isn't the Jalter we know and love. Call me self insert loser but the moment with Jeanne on her Interlude and Bond lines is special. Heck, I even did a term paper on it in my cultural studies class in college as a case study of how the Culture Industry destroys the scope of the artistic while promoting the dominance of technical rationality over optimism and justice. My opinion of Sieg is much higher than Jeanne though. Don't get me wrong, I understand the brilliant concept of Jeanne as the deconstruction of the myth of the war hero but that idea is poorly utilized due to not only prioritizing on making her come off as a delicate waifu prize but also the author's bias towards her argument in the story. Ideas mean little when you don't use them properly. Apocrypha apologists always act like its themes make it something brilliant but ignore how they are actually employed. Now I absolutely adore Sieg due to how he behaved as an innocent kid who had a childish and Manichean idea of heroism and morality before Jack's reality crushes it and makes him think. Apocrypha event and FGO even shows further growth where he shows empathy towards Avicebron and Amakusa instead of irrational hate. That's HUGE character development from him not being able to understand morality that Jeanne tried to teach him. Same can't be said for Jeanne who's now the black sheep of Nasuverse heroines and is overshadowed by her alter. The fact that Samurai Remnant resorted to using Jalter's model while just sprinkling some of Jeanne's character shows how Type Moon has abandoned her. Sieg is better off without her dragging him down in her flimsy self-glorification story.

Heck, I even did a term paper on it in my cultural studies class in college as a case study of how the Culture Industry destroys the scope of the artistic while promoting the dominance of technical rationality over optimism and justice. My opinion of Sieg is much higher than Jeanne though. Don't get me wrong, I understand the brilliant concept of Jeanne as the deconstruction of the myth of the war hero but that idea is poorly utilized due to not only prioritizing on making her come off as a delicate waifu prize but also the author's bias towards her argument in the story. Ideas mean little when you don't use them properly. Apocrypha apologists always act like its themes make it something brilliant but ignore how they are actually employed.
Now I absolutely adore Sieg due to how he behaved as an innocent kid who had a childish and Manichean idea of heroism and morality before Jack's reality crushes it and makes him think. Apocrypha event and FGO even shows further growth where he shows empathy towards Avicebron and Amakusa instead of irrational hate. That's HUGE character development from him not being able to understand morality that Jeanne tried to teach him. Same can't be said for Jeanne who's now the black sheep of Nasuverse heroines and is overshadowed by her alter. The fact that Samurai Remnant resorted to using Jalter's model while just sprinkling some of Jeanne's character shows how Type Moon has abandoned her. Sieg is better off without her dragging him down in her flimsy self-glorification story.

Um can you please give clarification over how she was treated as a "delicate waifu prize". Throughout the story of Apoc, Jeanne literally had her beliefs tested repeatedly in the face of Amakusa's 'salvation' and even when she was forced into the role of a sort of Anti hero with her being forced to exorcise Jack. Jeanne from these experiences came to truly realize the truth of the world and how a person can be a hero in one person's PoV while being a villain in another's as seen with Atalanta. It's from these experiences that she was able to teach Sieg that lesson of morality that you mentioned. Jeanne in return was able to see the innocence in humanity with sieg that she believed in as far back as when she was alive. The ideas was used properly bro.
I absolutely agree with you in how Jeanne is the black sheep of nasuverse heroines due to her extremely poor characterization in FGO(*summer variant*) and I also agree that with how she has been abandoned at this point, Sieg is better off without her now.

Lancer is clearly still OG Jeanne based on how she still accepts god and wants to save Chiemon however she can. It makes sense that Lancer isn’t the Jalter we know at all and is instead a variant of the original Jeanne instead

The only reason she's summonable is because there's *someone* who never forgot about her, therefore Ritsuka is the only one capable of doing so.

Unlike Ruler (our beloved jeanne from Apocrypha) who is mostly the representaiton of the saint, and Avenger (our beloved tsundere from Grand order) who is mostly the representation of the witch.
