I dont know if I am the only one, but I utilize the spiral to create a build up, obviously not very harsh, but I start around 16 beats before and when the song goes down I set it off. I was shocked when you said that you didnt use it for the build ups
@@crownmrbrown7701 you may aswell use it, it’s good to know to beat match but when doing a live performance use the technology that comes with the decks to maximise sound quality.
@@crownmrbrown7701 when im really worried about messing up i secretly use hot cues with quantize so I can pretend to jump cut to next song like a boss.
In this case, with Pioneer DDJ400 you can apply the FX in channel 1/2/ or Master, so if you apply the fx in a channel that is playing a song with the headphones prelistening option, you can hear the fx without being played loud/recorded etc

Hey Jamie, is there an effect that's a "reverse delay"? What I mean is an effect that drops the #2 & #4 beats a half beat BEFORE instead of after. Most Hip Hop & R&B DJ's usually perform this manually. If so, what's it called?

Hey man . I have a question I’m new to all this mixing . And I’m trying to capture a piece that I want to use a sample. But when I’m trying to get the piece as a sample. It says I can’t do it with live music playing but the music is currently stopped can you please help me on this
You have to set a loop on the part you want to use as a sample. If you then click on the little scissors icon that part will turn blue and you can drag it with your mouse to the sampler. After that you can further edit the sample.
Make sure you're exporting them properly, other than that maybe have auto hot cue load on otherwise youd have to hit the "call" button before they will load/work
Hey I was wondering how do you sort the BPM in order when key I have in order as well. I know you can do this in Serato and Virtual DJ can it be done Rekordbox. Thanks
Make playlists for different bpm ranges of music for e.g. one folder for drum & bass and one for house or techno, that's what I used to do but I have traktor now and that arranges your music by bpm and key if you wish.
Hey ! Just bought the xdj rr. For some reason, I cant get the waveform on the monitor. One of the reasons I've decided to get it because I dont have a laptop at the time, and in every video I've seen, had it soon as the power came on. Please help? Thanks.
If you mean have the waveform in RGB then this is a setting in rekordbox software. Click the gear icon to go to preferences and you can change waveform colour from blue to rgb in the view settings.

is it possible to assign Low Cut Echo to an FX pad. I have a DDJ-400 and couldn't find it in the menu.
Is there a way you can listen to the fx your using on the track through your headphones before playing it out loud if that makes sense?

Sadly not, it's a feature that Serato users often miss when transferring over to Rekordbox

As far as I know you can only sort by one category at a time

I think you need to analyse the tracks first on rekordbox
