All the things you point out that I never knew about. Wow, wow, wow!
MODO is full of things like this ... I learn new things about it all the time! Glad this was useful ...
Super super useful tutorial, I had been looking at a way of creating auto presets for RE shader and this just has everything setup from the get go. Wish I had known MODO had a default scene functionality. No dragging in anything anymore :) . Awesome tutorial Warren!!
Thanks, glad it was useful! I know my life changed the day I started using a default scene ...
Thank you for using Affinity - I boycott Adobe and want the resistance to grow LOL
Haha ... well, it seemed pretty easy to decide. Pay $50 once, or $10 a month for the rest of my life. No brainer...
That and the extra features are kind of "fluff" or gimmicky vs. an actual 3d program ...Adobe really doesn't have a decent lineup for 3D artists and just piggy backs on the 2D side for marketing to them. #woke
Awesome video. I had no idea you could save a default scene in Modo. The trick with the mannequin is particularly useful.
Nice! :) Yeah, it's super handy for a lot of stuff, try it out ...
Warren Marshall I set it up, but I’ve got this weird problem where the mannequin appears invisible any time I first open Modo. It corrects itself if I do anything like change the material, add a new object, or manually open a new scene (the new scene is fine, but the originally loaded scene is still invisible). Is that normal? I have no idea what could cause it. I’m going to test out creating a new scene with a default object later.
I tested it out. I deleted the old scene setting so it would revert to default, re-opened Modo, slapped in a cube, saved that as the new starting scene, and it has the same problem. Cube starts out invisible.
I wonder if you have the viewport set to hide inactive meshes? That might be it.
Thank Warren!
:)
Thx for video. BTW how do you enadle/disable quick preview (5:29)? I can't even find that feature. Official manual looks like "Hey! We have new cool feature - good luck to finding it" )
That's the RayGL preview ... I talk about it in this video if you're interested in digging in : th-cam.com/video/Q0RYryuiHRU/w-d-xo.html
THANK YOU! You are LEGEND!
