Sylas Briarwood The English dub definitely tones things down but there are some dark elements here and there. Also some of the voices are fantastic in the English dub imo, especially Yami Yugi
Boblob Law You can lose some important details, personalities, and performances when you only watch abridged. For example, Goku isn't really an idiot like he is in DBZA and Gohan never hates Goku, he always looks up to him. Also, a serious scene can sometimes become more comedic and lose the impact it's supposed to have. IMO an abridged series is meant for fans who have already seen the source material and will understand the jokes and references they make.
Btw, the person who voiced Yami Yugi, is the creator of one the other most popular abridged series ~ Yugioh abridged. Its pretty good.
TLKXxMikeDogxX He also voices like 90% of the other characters in Yugioh Abridged. The only ones I can think of that he doesn't are Rebecca Hawkins and Mai Valentine (post Battle City).

I got the impression that they don't even know about Yugioh Abridged and LittleKariboh... but they're on the internet... how could somebody be on the internet and NOT know about him?
I was introduced to his series by my cousin, who before watching it wasn't into anime. I had a few friends back at college who didn't watch anime or many internet series and they knew of this series. My brother is into NOTHING along the sides of anime or pretty much anything I watch and at least knows about the guy. Nostalgia Critic obviously isn't an anime fan and knows him.

Valid point, except... don't know if you noticed, but this isn't a street. This is the internet, and this is a channel of people who gain popularity and possible money (don't watch them too often, dunno if they have patreon or get paid for adds on youtube or something) by watching stuff on interenet. If you look back to my original comment, you will notice that this is what I was surprised by.

After you catch up with DBZ you should watch Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged by LittleKuriboh. He is the Narrator and Frieza in DBZA and was the first Abridger on TH-cam! Even if you haven't seen the show, he does it in a way where you can keep it up and laugh along with the characters making fun of the show and themselves.

Yugioh abridged was the original big abridged series. It laid the path for DBZA

You should totally give Yu Gi Oh abridged a shot ! It's by Little Kuriboh (who voiced Frieza for DBZA), and it' hilarious, even for those who've never seen the show (I didn't).
Guys you gotta watch yugioh abridged. It's by little kuriboh. He's the one that started the whole abridged phenomenon and it's so damn funny. He also voiced frieza in dbza as well. I actually look forward to a new episode of that just as much as dbza. You'll have plenty of people watch it too since it was the first abridged series ever made!

Yugioh Abridged is incredible, though like DBZ Abridged the first couple of episodes don't have the best recording quality, etc but the series gets amazing around episode 12 or so also Little Kuribo is Freeza in DBZ Abridged.
Yu-Gi-Oh is honestly really fun to play, if you guys get the time and wanna try a new card game, I'd recommend it
The only thing that could have made this better would have been either bringing in Season 0 Yami...

The original YuGiOh was an amazing show and it would be great if you guys could do a reaction to it (not abridged because you would miss out on references and jokes they make).The reason why cell was saying all those cards are banned is because they were always used in the show but in real life they're banned from tournaments because they're too good.
If you want to try the Yugioh card game, the Duel Links mobile game is a good way to try it for free and actually play against other players. The only difference is that they shrunk it down from 8000 to 4000 life points, 5 to 4 cards in the starting hands, 40-60 to 20-30 total cards, and 5 spaces for monster and spell/trap cards each to just 3 each. It fucks with the viability and balance of some cards a bit, but new players wouldn't notice that, and it overall works better for the mobile scene.

Honestly, Yu-Gi-Oh! Abridged is the only series that can compete with and perhaps surpass DBZA in terms of quality. Also, the guy that makes it played Freeza in DBZA
