Aw man, I'm so sad the "I've checked every planet except for Yardrat and Vampa" didn't get a bigger laugh. That was my favourite joke in the whole episode hahaha.
Because Goku is on Yardrat, and Broly and Paragus are chilling on Vampa from the new movie. Damnit that shit killed me.

Yeah, it was posted on April 1st under the name "Dragon Ball Z Kai Abridged 3" briefly, before soon after getting changed to 2.9. So basically, everyone who watched it early on thought it really was Kai 3, until the 2.9 gag from Kingdom Hearts.
This was released on april fools day because team four star has gone on record saying that they hate the garlic jr saga, with one of them even saying "It's garbage and we all know it's garbage!!!"
Their taste for Dragon Ball really fits with mine. They actually watched Dragon Ball, dislike the American dub music and make fun of things I was making fun of things in DBZ with friends before DBZA was a thing.

I always loved how this arc was all about gohan and kuruin and pikkoro...it was cool to see them play garlic jr who had everything planned perfectly.....seeing gohan vs the world it felt like was cool and the fake pikkoro and kururin being controlled beating gohan up part and then saving kami was genius and the bruce guitar riff began there when they saved kami it just felt so inspiring and carried till the end of the boo saga in the dub..that was the first arc he really created music for and it was perfect

Dragon ball kai is remastered and shorter version of dbz without filler. So dbz abridge is already a shorter parody version so dragon ball kai abridge is a parody and even shorter version of dbz abridge. This episode is special released on april

The original Abridged had Garlic Jr. show up only for Mr Popo to use his unholy powers to destroy him, and that was the end of it, barely a minute. So for this one they actually told the real story of the Saga in a single episode.
Also, this was an April Fools Day prank since it was originally released as Kai Abridged 3, then they pulled a Kingdom Hearts 3 and showed 2.9 at the start. and they didn’t do the story we were expecting.
I checked everywhere but planet yardrat and vampa😂😂😂😂

Other channels would have just uploaded a video titled Episode 61 with the thumbnail featuring Pikkon and then the video itself would just be Never Gonna Give You Up. But TeamFourStar, instead of surprising you with a troll, surprises you with...actually decent content whose only joke is being titled Kai 3 and is otherwise an actual episode of Kai content that will continue to have meaning even after it is no longer April 1st.
The thing that makes this the funniest, is that none of them picked up on the fact that this episode was an April fools joke.

For those who aren't aware yet the reason its called 2.9 instead of 2.5 is because of Kingdom hearts 3 where on their gaming channel they played it and the title screen came up as Kingdom hearts 2.9 which they felt it as a complete troll. And since both the game and the abridged episodes took life to come out naturally it made sense to make a joke of it lol
They realesed it in april 1st and it was Called kai 3 but it was a april fools joke and they changed it later to kai 2.9

You guys should totally finish the Hellsing Abridged series too! Definitely worth it.
They probably will, around Halloween. They've always released their Hellsing Abridged episodes around then. That's why it took them 10 months to do Episode 7. (Episode 7 was released December 2016, Episode 8 was released October 13, 2017. Blind Wave put reactions to them both up on October 31st, 2017. Episode 9 didn't come out until November, 2018.)
