Arsenal are doing exactly what I want to see Man Utd do. Getting rid of old players on stupid wages, not panicking that they’re not immediately winning the league. Blooding through some great young players and buying sensible players that fit the system Arteta wants to play.

@@La-rb2sb which tells everyone Chelsea overlooked the fact that they had to communicate with the player's representative before submitting an offer to the club which in honesty is not tapping up a player under contract and I respect that.
But my gut feeling tells me Chelsea new owner was naive to think he could do it on his own and by the book, sacking Granovskaya and Cech was a bad decision.
I followed Tuchel since Dortmund and observed his methods at PSG although he's a decent head coach he has no clue on how to manage a team with egos and some of his players are in diva mode plus no one wants to come to Chelsea now he seems totally lost.

Bringing in Edu as Technical Director was a game changer. I will give Edu a huge amount of credit for what he is doing at Arsenal. They have a clear vision of where they want to be. And they are implementing that vision methodology, sensibly and patiently. Developing the young players they have while adding new young players with the correct mindset and mentality. Creating a healthy high moral culture at the club. The recruitment and scouting has improvement massively. This wont happen overnight. But this young Arsenal team has a high ceiling. There will be ups and downs with a young team. Some segments of the fan base needs to get off the Arteta out bandwagon and start supporting the team. Give credit where it's due. Look at this team 3/4 years ago and look at it now. Huge improvement 👏
You nailed it to the tee fam, we sometimes as fans doing way to much instead of supporting the progress. Our team has improved alot since arteta came in and I guarantee that this coming season is the season where we gonna see more silverware on the team and for sure we gonna finish on top 4 this season. We got a very good solid squad and I'm glad that the new signings they just fit in like a glove on the hand. I just can't wait for the new season to start👌🏿

I think the plan was get people in quick(ly) so they can integrate and then move everyone else on. Selling players is always a game of chicken, Arsenal want rid, players want to go, buying club won't pay asking price as they know both club and player wants the player to go so it drags on a bit until 1 side caves or meets in the middle.

Mari gave the classic "I love playing in Italy, the weather and food are so much better than in England" line while he was at Udinese which tells me all we need to know about the guy. Doesnt take being a footballer seriously if that's the biggest takeaway you have about playing in Serie A. He can leave for free for all i care lmfao and same can be said about Bellerin. I dont care fashionista and love playing with his hair but he can go do that on another team. Xhaka can leave as well, has redeemed himself somewhat but hes not good or consistent enough to forgive and forget that Palace game a few years ago. We get rid of those three and bring in another central midfielder to give competition to partey, zinchenko, sambi, (and xhaka if he stays) then i'll be happy. But ill also be happy if zinchenko is the last guy we bring in. Maybe save the money for a January signing if we need one to cover a problem area

But looking at what's happening at tots, i don't see a long term plan. I see short term success. And thst summarises what conte is about. Go for the win and then leave. Nice to see former players trying their best to put the club back where we belong. I feel the passion they have for our club and it's translating to the pitch. It won't be long before we close that gap on the top two. Small steps first priority is bringing back Champions League football.
Think it's finally dawning on clubs mentality is as important as talent, personally I think towards the end wenger let the standards slip towards the end of his time at the club and its only now that they're getting back to where they should be

I see hunger, attitude, determination, leadership and quality in this Arsenal side that Edu and Arteta are try to build and it's refreshing. We are a massive club that has been sleeping for too long and I just have a feeling we are starting to awaken. Let's hope we can close the gap on the top two and secure a top four spot this season.
To be honest, a lot of supporters were a bit sceptical of Edu's appointment as technical director, including me, but he's proven a lot of people wrong....... including me.
I think that Edu and Arteta are improving together and I'm pretty chuffed with what we're doing at the moment and the direction that we're going.

if we really look back at all the transfer that Edu had been involved, there is a consistent pattern of purchase/clear philosophy that gel together as a team, with players that may not be a full big name for majority of them, but are of the 18-24 ranges that had a good 5 years in them at least with the club and Potential to grow in a world class player.
Signing Odegaard and Gabriel Jesus is already a massive achievement by Edu
Trust me! Other than DeBruyne and Bernando Silva, Odegaard has become the 3rd best 10 in the league in my opinion. Edu done well to get him.

Whilst those 2 guys are positions in need of reinforcement we brought in other squad guys like Vieira and Zinchenko who filled holes we needed to fix from last year. Jesus is also a huge upgrade on Lacazette. The worst we can be this year IMO with injuries etc is as good as we were last year. I don’t see us dropping below 5th unless United start making some huge additions

Without Tierney, Tomiyasu and Partey at the end of last season, we were dismal. Pathetic was actually an understatement.
If we're relying on Xhaka or Elneny to cover Partey, and Cedric to cover Tomiyasu, we can kiss top 4 goodbye.
We will need to pray those 2 stay fit for the season.
Arsenal need an additional midfielder and going by what Edu said and reading between the lines. Arsenal will definitely pull off 1 more signing just before the window closes, ofcourse he can't be very vocal about it because the selling clubs will all raise their prices but its almost certain Arsenal will get 1 more marquee signing through the door before the transfer window closes. Edu has hinted at it if you listen closely

Edu and Arteta seems to be doing some good stuff with the signings and changing the culture of the club. Previously Arsenal had turned into a comfortable place for previous managers and players.

Just because a word is used a lot doesn't mean it isnt being used correctly.. call it what u want but the attitude and togetherness of the players is there for all to see and is unrecognizable from what was there before.. the body language of Ozil,, the lack of actual fking EFFORT on the pitch.. now they are running through brick walls in FRIENDLIES and even players on the sidelines are cheering goals in spite of the fact its their rival for a starting spot scoring.. (like Eddie cheering Jesus, Laca cheering Eddie, ESR cheering and hugging Martinelli from the warm up touchline)... THAT is what people are talking about with culture.. and its real, not just a buzzword.. clichés only become clichés because they are worth endless repetition.

So WHY do u think the term "culture" has become fashionable on Arsenal forums? - I think it's because everyone can see for themselves clear as day that the ATTITUDES and BEHAVIOUS CHARACTERISTICS of the particular social group at Arsenal has improved immensely... and people want to talk about it as it is noteworthy and important to any future success. It gives us optimism that this young team is one that will not fall away in their progress and succumb to fame and money, but will work hard and try to become better and better with every season, game and training session. Given the age of the squad that gives me hope that they will learn from lessons, learn from defeats and continue improving because THAT is the only way Arsenal will ever catch City and Liverpool.

Respect for Edu. He came back to the club at a tumultuous period and has moved the club in a positive direction. As a fan, I could not be more ecstatic with his vision and I am grateful of his work.
It's hard to make too many promises when the competition is so strong although there is definitely room for improvement when it comes to winning matches at the tail end of the season against botton half teams when CL qualification is on the line.

I think they have improved their squad massively brought in some experience players which will help them definitely I don’t think they wont sign anyone now but you don’t know in football
He said that he is always looking for possible opportunities and that he’s looking for more movement, it’s pretty clear he wants more transfers. I think we will probably bring in another midfielder and possibly a right back (maybe a right winger if we’re lucky). But I think the main focus is on outgoings now

Arteta literally said a few days ago that the squad isn't complete yet.
There was so much criticism on Arteta and Edu in the previous few windows but I always backed him and Arteta because they clearly have a well defined plan of where they see the club going. Can't wait to see where we will be in just a few years time.
But let’s be properly honest, the criticism was justified. Willian? Written off. Cedric? B team at best. Tavares? Just not quite it. Ceballos? Let’s not go there. For every good transfer, Tomiyasu, Ødegaard and Gabriel. There’s a bad one to even the scales.
@@rebs4jezus The only player that I can properly criticise them for was Willian given his age, the team he played for and the fact that he scored only one goal for us all season. The rest were all back up players including Cedric and Tavares. Ceballos also helped us to an FA Cup win so I'm not sure what you're on about there. There have been far more good signing than bad signings not to mention developing ESR so he can break into the first team.

Now on the good side- Tierney, Gabriel, Martinelli (all Edu prior to ARteta) then after Arteta - Partey! ! Arsenal completely changed their wage structure under Arteta.
Gone from 300-350k a week for Ramsey, Lacazette, Mkhitaryan, Alexis, Ozil, Auba, the whole lot
to 20k Saka, highest is 200k, Partey.
Arsenal spent "the highest" last season, 150m, on 6 players (25m each).
Clubs spend 100m on 1 player fgs.
Saka won’t sign again for that low
Back when Arsenal had players like Ramsey Ozil, Arsenal needed major quadruple surgery. Arsenal were in a much deeper hole than most all of their rivals. Yes Arsenal spent but they also were in a deep hole. It’s actually good work they have done to go from Ozil and auba on 350k to partey being highest on 200k.
Arsenal dont have quality players whom Arsenal will offer 300k salary. All are mediocre at best.
Not only other “clubs spent 100 on 1 player but others added those players to squads that were already stacked with quality players. Ppl love to present the lazy argument that Arsenal spent the most but fail to say teams in the top 6 also spent but are adding to squads that were already better than Arsenals.
The window with Ramsdale white tomiyasu was a game changer for Arsenal bc it closed the gap on the rest while receiving good quality for the cost of each of those. Saliba as well was bought at half price or less.
Saka is not on 20k-a-week

Edu has won things at Arsenal, he should know himself top 4 and a trophy is the bare minimum at Arsenal FC. We need to win the UEL and get top 4, no excuses for Arteta and the Kroenkes
If we do win europa league, I don’t mind finishing top 8 at least cos our squad depth is non existent, also we’ve have to spend the money to stay with the other clubs like spurs, we’re still a few years behind Chelsea city and Liverpool and we need to keep spending a lot to be on their level, to guarantee top 4 or winning a cup is for us to get Leroy Sane

Wow I’m really impressed by Arsenal, I’m a Barca fan and in the EPL from last season I really liked how they backed their Manager Arteta similar to how Barca is backing Xavi! These two clubs will conquer the future in my opinion

I think it's the best transfer market ever for Arsenal. They have a past of signing some obscure up and coming French players and young players that didn't always pay out, but now they are signing big guns: Fabio Vieira, Gabriel Jesus, Zichenko and more to come.

Edu has that winning mentality from his time where Arsenal are serious contenders for everything. Arteta too from his time at City. Both communicates well, and are driven. Emery, although driven, can’t communicate. Wenger kept having the idea that cheap is better in his last few years. Arteta and Edu are realistic and modern in their ways, and I like that even though we didn’t finish top 4 this season.
Edu is a breath of fresh air. Not often you see this kind of honesty. Most of football interviews you just get the same robotic answers

If you want to talk about ("massive") spending, the only reasonable comparison is the fees that were paid out for the 25-ish players that are registered from each club to play in the EPL next year. Adjusted for inflation, of course. Do that for Arsenal, ManU, Tot'ham, Chelsea, City, Liverpool, and then the comparisons make sense. You can't compare a club which is "starting over" and building from scratch with money pits like like Chelsea, City, (or Pool, ManU) that have been spending 150M each transfer period and now need a player or two to improve their team.
