Could not be a tastier example of this rhythm section improvising along with the Master. The added solo is just an impressive display. Ty for reaction to the boys!
Led Zeppelin where incredibly good in the studio, but live... they blew the roof off. Since this is an open arena, I mean the roof of buildings outside the arena. :)
one of the best jam sessions ever...watch 1973 MSG from the movie song remains the same...Whole lot of Love and Dazed and confused...you will totally dig it if you have not already watched it...Enjoy peace..and I love the green and violet lighting in the background...✌
and after.. I don't know why some think their stuff wasn't great after a certain year.. These dudes were fire until the end of Bonham and beyond..Subjective I guess!!!!
Hey Steven... I dated a drummer for a couple years back in the 80s. He loved Zeppelin and Jon Bonham, he played LUDWIGS, The sound is UNMISTAKABLE!!! GOD BLESS ✌️✌️ & ❤❤
I think one of the most unique aspects of zeppelin that is hugely influential on bands forever is the way that Jimmy Page follows John Bonham, and Bonham follows Jimmy page. They always sound in sync and syncopated in a way that creates maximum groove while JP J. holds down the bottom so powerful.
I've always loved this song! It's my favorite song from them, which is why I chose it to be the first Led Zeppelin song I ever covered for my channel. However, I got an email from TH-cam almost instantly saying that it was blocked and that the only one who would be able to see it would be me. I haven't tried to do another Zeppelin song since. I've recently had almost all of my Eagles covers, and my cover of Dirty Laundry pulled down by TH-cam. It really sucks that you can't pay homage to your musical heroes without walking on a razor's edge! I hope you don't have any issues doing a cover of this!
This is longer then the studio version, still not really long enough though. It was written after they were in Iceland, & became fascinated about the Viking invasions, & what the song is about. Thanks as always for your reaction, still so many great LZ songs to react to.
Also listen to the BBC 1971 version of this song and find the bootleg on TH-cam for Osaka 1971 for this song and heartbreaker. Also, as a drummer, you need to listen to both the studio and live versions of Achilles last stand, and in my time of dying! You’ll love these tunes! Epic
Steven(stephen)...I desperately want to introduce you to Chris Rea.....I really don't know where to start( I could go back to 1978) but to grab your much needed & respected attention might I suggest 'it's all gone live 1988'.This man,so underrated & neglected grew up in the same neck of the woods as Mark Knopfler of Dire Straits, his right hand playing can be similar to marks but his left hand mercilessly scorches the frets(slide guitar). There is such a story to tell but for now please take a look. Yours respectfully.
I think the boys need their own playlist, Steven! 🤘🤘 Ever since I heard this version, I don't really like the studio as much. This is fire, as expected. IMO, their 1970 show at Royal Albert Hall is the best concert footage from Zep. MSG is great, but it's chopped up bc of the movie. The audio doesn't always line up with the video and you can't see anyone except Page and Plant, for the most part. RAH is superior, imo. Hopefully one day you'll have the time to do that, How Many More Times, vid I've been requesting. It's 20 mins of pure rock, funk, grit, blues and some other stuff thrown in for good measure. 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞😁
@@snakeinthegrass7443 awesome for sure. Actually the whole DVD is killer. The MSG songs there are better than much of the movie, and Earls Court and Knebworth are fantastic. Best versions of In My Time of Dying and Achilles Last Stand, the Bonham /Page epics of all time!
Let's Gooo! It's time to get the Led out 😅Please please check out Since I've been loving you live MSG performance. Check out Tragically Hip New Orleans is sinking studio version please 🙏 Great reaction and Peace out Steven ☮️ ✌️ 🙏

Such an amazing performance of an EPIC tune! What's next from Zeppelin?!
That may have been the best drum version of this song I've herd. Syncopated offbeats extravaganza.
Great version of a great song. I remember hearing it on the overhead speakers in the school bus when I was in school! We had a cool bus driver!
@@sourisvoleur4854 That’s awesome!! 😎
Hammer of the Gods!!!
Robert Plants screaming is my phone ringtone 😊
Love that!! 🔥🔥
Keep the Zeppelin coming

This is my favorite zepelin live alburm (How the West Was Won), everything on it is amazing.
Live they are magical!

This version is killer...All 4 members at their best...lucky who saw them up to 1972

The Mighty Zep!
Try “Kashmir” from Celebration day with Jason Bonham or “In my time of Dying” live Earls Court 75’
I attended an outdoor Zep concert when I was 15 in the 70’s. They played this. Every concert since had a lot to live up to.
Black Sabbath,Led Zeppelin,Deep Purple the holy triad of rock music🤘

Such an iconic riff.

I agree!! This one might not last either! It’s wild and I don’t get it! 🤷🏻♂️
Bonham could kick the pedal 3 even 4 times a second. Insane

Love your reactions to the GOAT! My favorite band then it's Pink Floyd!
Love it! My best friend is named Ludwicka. Her dad was a drummer named Ludwig. ☮️❤️🎼😎
When I saw Zep in 73, this the encore song!!
Always love LZ! But NOW you have to watch Tommy Johansson's recent cover of this!!! ❤

Do you think JB just forgot to kick the bass when he hit that cymbal?.......Uh, not likely!! LOL!
@@tj7264 Of course not! It was purposeful but oh so tasty!! 🔥🔥
The video is from their concert film The Song Remains the Same
G1 bro 👍
The guitar solo is not on the studio version
Ponder this. With technology from over 50 years ago they sound just as good if not better live than on the record. Not many bands pull that off today.
Sadly this is one of their shorter songs. Would love for it to be longer

Love zeppelin but I don't feel like John Paul Jones gets enough credit.......imo ✌️& ❤️
Nothing against the studio version, but this version is superior
