It can be so tender! Be gentle with the massage, and try doing some desensitization first (rub it with a cotton ball or other textures, or gently tap it with a finger)
@jloa6ing both are actually helpful. Scars can adhere in multiple directions, so I almost think about the scar as the center of a clock, and trying to move the skin and scar towards 12, 3, 6, 9, and then even sometimes the in between numbers! Then massage in the direction that feels the most stuck or uncomfortable

I have scar tissue from trigger finger it's so tender and sore but I been rubbing it still it looks better

Yeah, of course! Self massage usually does feel good and decrease stiffness!
