They can use those transformers and mosfets are a lot more made because they can be used in the smaller inverters also. Big transformers can ONLY be used in BIG inverters. I think, but I'm not sure that lots of smaller capacitors in parallel reduce output rfi noise.

Good video. The question I am trying to get answered is why some high frequency inverters also contain transformers? For example, I have a an XIJIA 3200W 48v inverter. It is an HF design. However, inside there are 4 transformers, like in your diagram. These are transformers, not choke coils (it also houses choke coils). So "transformer inverters vs "transformerless inverters is not the same as "high frequency" inverters vs "low frequency" inverters. Can you explain why some HF inverters also contain transformers?

best regards this transformer is not producing ac voltage 50Hz. the output of these transformer is rectified into DC 310V. then the H-Bridge circuit converts these 310 VDC in to +ve and -ve peaks by converting its polarity so these square wave peaks are used to run the load. either it is inductive or resistive i will demonstrate it some upcoming video very soon

if we need 17V * 100A = 1700 watt in output and we have 12 volt at input (just consider 1700 watt excluding the switching losses) we need input current 1700/ 12 = 141 ampere. which is very high amount of current from any dc source. it is possible by adding batteries in parallel or we can add 2 batteries in series to increase input voltage, so the input current can be limited in safe limit
Strange design; all the mosfet pins,the 3 soldered points, are too close together; no need,with all that room, a bad experience may result; the dark flux solderingmatter,carbon,humidity, burned flux, the infamous solder balls, etc, in between the mosfets 3 points invite disaster sooner or later,just a bad practice; just because the mosfets come with close G-D-S spacings, a smart factory should change that,and space the pins a bit more,maybe?

Hi. Can the boost stage be modified to make 12v to 17v 100A converter? For a mig welder running from 12V battery.
