Yep, some fair comments in there. Richard Gadd was put through hell and suffered. He put pen to paper and has made a few quid from it. The writing, and acting by Gunning, is so creepy when you see the Piers Morgan interview and compare the real person. Don't get me wrong, I think she clearly has mental health issues, but just because somebody is mentally ill it doesn't stop them being a total tool. I would say that a great part of a person's personality is formed by past traumas, but using those traumas to justify being shitty to others is not on, and she deserves to be called out for it.
Great analysis. This one has legs for sure. More to come in terms of fall out from this show. Also fully agree with you around removing toxic people from your life.
Loved the series!!! One of the most disturbing & brilliant shows I’ve ever watched. Jessica is amazing as Martha!!! Poor Richard . He went through hell.
I’m so late to the party, I just finished the show yesterday. During the first episode I was like ok, this interesting. Martha was being so weird to Donny and making him uncomfortable, then she sends him a Facebook friend request and I thought for sure he would decline it. But he presses accept and I was like WTF??? And then boom, the credits rolled and I was HOOKED. The whole show, every single episode, every single scene was riveting. Not one slow moment or uninteresting character. And I love that Donny is not a saint, he did many things that contributed to the trauma bond between him and Martha, which makes the show so complex and interesting. Richard Gadd is a brilliant writer and was unflinchingly raw and vulnerable as an actor, he deserved every Emmy he was awarded. He’s currently working on a new show, I think it’s called “Lion” and I will definitely be watching that.
i really liked the first 3 episodes when it was about "Martha" the actress jessica dunning stole the show. wasnt expecting the 4th episode and the whole depressing parts about grooming/abuse and him being a confused closet bi-sexual 🤷♀ found it a bit depressing. Although after reflecting on it its a powerful piece of tv because of that stuff. reminded me of trainspotting in a way.
Riveting entertainment. I've watched it twice, now. Even if the story weren't claimed to be true, the show is SO WELL CRAFTED: produced, acted, edited, scripted, cast, scored, etc. It goes DEEP! Bared raw. The scene with the parents? OMG...heart-wrenching. An emotional rollercoaster indeed. Plus, I'm a sucker for a voice-over. Fekkin' LOVED IT!
I literally couldn't stop watching this show as you said it was beautifully done the part where he bonded with his father amazing show highly recommended ❤
I keep getting this stuff about "Baby Reindeer" appearing on my TH-cam over the past... I don't know... week or maybe a couple of weeks, and frankly I have no idea what it's all about.
The thought that apparently he was working in the Hawley Arms in Camden at the time of this, and I always drank in there at the same time blows my mind :')
I had to stop a few times with the man who really messed him up. Hard you watch. The part where he tells his parents was the best part. I like how the people weren't portrayed as one dimensional. There was more than one victim and he knew his choices weren't the best. Even the ending with the free drink suggests that victims often become abusers.
There's a saying that "comedy is tragedy plus time." It suggests that many comedians use humor as a coping mechanism to deal with their own personal struggles or hardships. So, while they may appear jovial and entertaining on stage, they may also carry a lot of sadness or pain when they're not performing. It's the irony of finding laughter in the midst of sorrow.
when someone - an adult woman - admits that she has 4-6 email addresses, but maybe 4... or maybe 6.... she doesn't remember..... AND four cell phones because she likes calling different people from different phones... run.

I can't find anywhere the arrest records or anyone reporting about finding them. I was hoping you had when I chose to watch this. Could she have gotten it expunged?
Richard Gadd did something really brave by telling his personal stories, even if some of them could make people treat him unfairly. By sharing, he's not only helping himself feel better but also showing others that they're not alone if they're going through tough times too. It's like he's saying, "Hey, I've been there too." That kind of openness can make people feel more connected and supported.
Such a mental series. Found out a week later it was a completely true story and I was gob-smacked like what on earth ahaha. Very interesting watch tho 10/10 recommend.
That comment IMHO is offensive. Perhaps you have never experienced manipulation from another person and are a sociopath and are unable to experience empathy. Or are you just trying to make a joke you think is funny? If that is the case you're still unable to feel empathy. Glad I'm not you.

This is hands down one of the darkest & most disturbing show I've ever watched & I'm a true crime junkie who has seen some of the world's worst depravities
The best I’ve watched on this show 😂 don’t hold back 👏🏼
I like when you say Focking, lol, I believe that the internet and social media make everything easier for stalkers like her. scary
The woman is completely unhinged.
Absolute bonkers! 🤪
Have you been on her Facebook page, totally nuts.
If “Martha sees this ya in trouble mate” 😂
Great analysis. This one has legs for sure. More to come in terms of fall out from this show. Also fully agree with you around removing toxic people from your life.
Loved the series!!! One of the most disturbing & brilliant shows I’ve ever watched. Jessica is amazing as Martha!!! Poor Richard . He went through hell.
"Keep as many people as possible away from you".
Ha !
Aren't the truest things the funniest.
He’s currently working on a new show, I think it’s called “Lion” and I will definitely be watching that.
this is the first time EVER that i have got something based on a sponsor ad - looking forward to using Ground News
i really liked the first 3 episodes when it was about "Martha" the actress jessica dunning stole the show. wasnt expecting the 4th episode and the whole depressing parts about grooming/abuse and him being a confused closet bi-sexual 🤷♀ found it a bit depressing. Although after reflecting on it its a powerful piece of tv because of that stuff. reminded me of trainspotting in a way.
This story is insane! The misses and I finished it quickly
I don’t know what to say!!
“Sent from iPhone”
Brilliant series, brilliant breakdown🤣, just found you and subscribed 👍
Riveting entertainment. I've watched it twice, now. Even if the story weren't claimed to be true, the show is SO WELL CRAFTED: produced, acted, edited, scripted, cast, scored, etc. It goes DEEP! Bared raw. The scene with the parents? OMG...heart-wrenching. An emotional rollercoaster indeed. Plus, I'm a sucker for a voice-over. Fekkin' LOVED IT!
"Imagine you're the actress reading that. Fuck me." 🤣
I literally couldn't stop watching this show as you said it was beautifully done the part where he bonded with his father amazing show highly recommended ❤
one of my favorite people to watch always honest and says it how it is.
Muslims do do that
I could listen to True Geordie give commentary on paint drying and really enjoy it ;)
Epic breakdown for a legendary show well done mate.
"What about PE? Good at that, were ya?" made me spit tea over my keyboard...🤣
I agree, she brought that upon herself especially coming out and outing herself
Love your commentary on this. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I can’t imagine the terror he must have felt at times.
What, when making himself look good despite the fact both parties are likely equally shitty and weird creeps.
I keep getting this stuff about "Baby Reindeer" appearing on my TH-cam over the past... I don't know... week or maybe a couple of weeks, and frankly I have no idea what it's all about.
I watched it many times abd i remember thinking, this will cause a stir! And,they didn't go to any lengths to hide her identity!
I started waching this the other night after I'd had a few drinks, dint really know wat was goin on coz I was pissed, mite av to take another look at it
Don't take my kindness for weakness, should have been his motto❤😂
Wasn't about a man being a stalker for once.. refreshing
Because men do it more.
He did, he followed her home and was peeping through her windows.
@@topkek4223obviously we know that
I can’t believe how much I enjoyed this show. There’s a grooming scene in it that’s a nightmare to watch tho. Overall a very well made series
Great commentary! Thank you!
Can you put this much research into finding out who the comedy agent was who sexually abused him ?
No chance. Gary reich likely has a few bob to sue him .
A lot of names have been speculated on. A bit unfair on , ones that are not guilty.
Exactly this !
The thought that apparently he was working in the Hawley Arms in Camden at the time of this, and I always drank in there at the same time blows my mind :')
What year did he work there?
@@h.j7469 going by what the series says, it was between 2015-2017
Was more known for being Amy Winehouse's local , previously.
Thanks for the link groundnews
never watched you before but agree the show was gut wrenching, but so good. that fact that most of it was true in mind boggling
It wasn't
Great opening motivational speech about bing watching!
So True! True Geordie! Gan on 💪🏻
I had to stop a few times with the man who really messed him up. Hard you watch. The part where he tells his parents was the best part. I like how the people weren't portrayed as one dimensional. There was more than one victim and he knew his choices weren't the best. Even the ending with the free drink suggests that victims often become abusers.
I know who the real Darrien is, and he is an absolute creep. He makes my skin crawl... he's going by a different name now though. Gross.
AND four cell phones because she likes calling different people from different phones... run.
OCD, doesnt make her a criminal.
My thoughts exactly 💯. It’s so sad that it’s so real !
It isn't
OMG !!! I didn’t know you existed and now I’ve subscribed your channel!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Thank you for making us laugh!!! But one thing is for certain you are absolutely 💯 right in all your videos!!!
"An absolute loser...no offense" 😂😂😂😂 ah the good old days 😂
Reindeer is the adult version of "If you give a mouse a cookie" 😂
Just knew he'd get in his dialy dig at Fury 😂
Daily*
So good and of course sad for him. But I think I will rewatch it
Hey i binged it at work while i painted a bunch of door thank you very much 😂
Thought the show was very moving, sad in parts but I’m so pleased for Richard Gadd. Brilliant piece of writing. Good luck to him.
You would think with all the bus stop heckling he might have improcved in his comedy somewhat.
I can't find anywhere the arrest records or anyone reporting about finding them. I was hoping you had when I chose to watch this. Could she have gotten it expunged?
There aren't any.
the strange thing is that people in media know who the rapist guy is but nothings been done about him ?!
Are you surprised
As usual you did the best recap ever.
I'm interested to see if she's ever faced any real consequences or she's still out there hurting others
'Chufta' was the funniest thing in the show..
Its noy completely true by a long way though.
I love binge watching everything I watch, including your channel, but I'm thinking I should take your advice, lol, and get a freaken life 😂😂😂
This video misses the point of the show, this woman isn’t well. I don’t see how increasing the attention of the real person helps the situation?
Aah, you obviously don't understand how social media/TH-cam works...
I agree with @george5464, he doesn’t want anyone looking for her and harassing her,
Absolutely
@@LovelyMel99he literally made a show about her for the world to see
@@LovelyMel99 hes made a show about it and made no effort to conceal her identity though
Everything you said is true!! but Richard Gadd should be blessed and thanking this women! she made him rich now
That comment IMHO is offensive. Perhaps you have never experienced manipulation from another person and are a sociopath and are unable to experience empathy. Or are you just trying to make a joke you think is funny? If that is the case you're still unable to feel empathy. Glad I'm not you.
@@user-gu7kk5zk2b SHE made himmmmmm a millionaire!!! Get that through head! Think about that for a second. Unintentionally off course but still.
