Mya, I have been using the grease for a month and agree with all the things you have said. My hair does not shed or break as much as it did. It is thicker, the ends are thicken. I blow dry my hair for length then apply the grease. I am loving the journey this far. My the way your hair looks great
You look stunning today. I can clearly see your hair has grown and thickened. I would like to try the chebe grease or make a version of it as I know I couldnt deal with the powder. I'm loving the respect you have for your grandmother very heartwarming. Have a blessed Sunday.
Hey Living in the Shade. I think for most people the grease is going to be the way to go. lol thank you, plus my grandma is Jamaican , she does not play those games !
You inspired me to try chebe. I definitely noticed that it locked the moisture in my braids and my hair was easier to detangle. I have two small children so sometimes I can’t give my hair the attention I’m used to. So this is a big deal that I hope to keep using.
I really like how consistent you were on your routines especially using the chebe 👍 and that's the key to any success. You inspire me in so many ways, so a Big thank you 😊 ❤
Thank you! I know people are tired of hearing it but consistency is key. During this journey my major take away is moisture. The difference in keeping my hair moisturized is a game changer.
I have come to say I agree with Every. Single. Point. you’ve addressed here. Every single point. I started my chebe journey June 6th it hasn’t even been a month and I’ve experienced less shedding, elongated curls (but like you said after washing my curls come right back) moisturized hair, and my hair is a lot thicker. I couldn’t believe it so I went back to my initial video I took of my braids and my latest video and compared the two and it’s evident. Sent both to my family and they couldn’t believe it either. I use the powder and keep my hair wrapped up. I wish there was a way I could share my videos/pictures on TH-cam
Chebe does loosen your curls because the weight of the product. It weighs the curls down. It is not permanent, as soon as you wash it out your curls will go back to normal
Wow!! Klassically kept, the the name of your channel fits you so perfectly; you are so classy; thank you for the info on the chebe powder and your hair is gorgeous❤❤
I’ve worn my hair in box braids for the first six months of the year (finishing up my masters and I didn’t want to deal with it) and two days ago I finally took them out and tried to do a flexi rod set and it turned out terribly 😂. But it gave my hair a really good stretch. So yesterday I tried twists on stretched hair for the first time and I’m in love! My hair is soft and moisturized and I love how fluffy the twists are. Plus I don’t have to worry about tangling or SSN as much. I think I might adopt your stretched hair routine.
I love how thorough you’ve shared your process about your chebe journey that led me to look for it yesterday. I had found it in powder, grease, and oil forms. I am curious in trying it out along with my natural hair journey too. I appreciate you in making this video, thank you!
TFS! Your hair looks Great... Healthy & Thriving! Because I have microlocs I don't use the chebe powder but I use the chebe oil & chebe grease. I've noticed more natural luster & new growth thicker.
I'm curious how much you think the finger detangling had to do with the decreased shedding. I always notice my hair appears to shed less if I finger detangle, but that's because I have a hard time getting the shed hair that is sitting at the roots. That white dress is STUNNING and your hair looks so good. Growing so fast too!! Glad to hear that this chebe journey is working out for you.
Hey Bion! thank you. Great question! Before I announced to yall that I was going to finger detangling solely I was probably about a month in. I do think finger detangling plays a role in less shedding, but I think the strengthening of my hair and the moisture retention played a major role. And I have a video coming up with my thoughts on finger detangling.
If shedding in a natural internal process, what do you think is the mechanism of action? How would applying something to your hair strands impact the internal process of shedding? I’m curious.
Me 🤔 thinking the same. Wondering if it's actually longer pieces of broken hair that she sees. As she is careful not to apply to her scalp. BUT, retention of hair equals longer length and more density. Sooo, I am happy for her journey, regardless. She is beautiful.
Hello! Articles and research Looking this questions up most articles and research says “It is known to nourish and hydrate the hair, so as a result, there is less breakage." My thoughts/opinion. I would say my sentiments follow the same ideas. With the grease I did notice a reduction in shedding but with the powder is where I saw the most difference. Chebe aids in moisture retention which allows the hair to stay malleable and your curls are not weakened because they are not dry which can lead to brittle hair. Chebe is also known to strengthen the hair. I would say with the moisture retention that I have experienced couple with stronger is the reason not as many strands are falling.
I was hoping you would address the differences/preferences of the powder vs the grease so thank you! The white dress is so lovely and feminine. Also, I don't know how you feel about any Christian beliefs but recently I learned that it is against God's will for us to cut our hair.(Absolam, Samson, etc) There are a lot of ladies with the same length as you and they do not cut their hair anymore, citing that the 'box cut' ends are simply what the "industry" suggests for us. Just food for thought. I am going to do both the powder and the grease.
Thank you! Yes I am aware that some religious groups do not cut their hair. I am a health over length girlie. I use to hold onto my ends even when they looked terrible. For those women they can certainly do as they please but for me keeping my ends trimmed is what I prefer. My hair looks and falls better when my ends are trimmed. My styling and wash days are seamless. Not to mention if I do not address the split ends they tend to further rise up my hair shaft.
I'm looking forward to the 6 months update 👀 I was curious about the chebe powder but was very reluctant on giving it a go as its more work than my actual routine which is just washing my hair with a sulfate free shampoo, detangling, applying aloe vera pulp and glicerin mixture and then sealing that in with an oil before braiding my hair. Curiously enough, I find that we seem to have the same results/benefits with totally different routines
Hello! I cannot wait for the 6 month update as well. I am glad that you have found a routine that is working for you So far my biggest takeaway from this journey is moisture. Moisture, moisture , moisture lol. It is so important to keep your hair moisturized.
Hello. If I use the chebe grease yes I use the Revair on the on the cool setting to stretch my hair. If I use the chebe powder I allow my hair to air dry. To me yes the investment is worth it. I can stretch my hair with low manipulation.
I'm about to start using this, but you're not putting the chebe mixture on your scalp, so how could it prevent shedding? If it never goes on your scalp?
