This was awesome! It was actually an honor for singers or comedians to be asked to sit down for an interview after a performance. A lot of Black performers didn't get that opportunity on some of the late night shows. That's why Arsenio Hall's show was so important. By Monica being so young this was great exposure for her to be seen by another demographic.

I never saw this performance. Monica was killing every performance during The Boy Is Mine era. Still my favorite era from her. The looks, performances, music and vocals were always on point.
She carried herself mature at 18, this was a nice interview, so this interview was done Oct-Nov 1998 since her b-day is in Oct...just fyi for anyone... EDIT 5/21/18: I've just been told this interview was done November 10, 1998

That band was on point and so were the dancers. Monica's voice has matured so much since then.
