How much do you pay on flights/travel cost for the 12 months as your moving around each month so I would imagine travel cost would be like 5k/7.5k usd a year?
Pattaya is relatively cheap for Thailand compared to more major beach destinations like the Karon area of Phuket or Ao Nang in Krabi. Accomodation can easily reach 5-800+ usd in thailand(in my experience) if your in a high value area and you want a good hotel or airbnb. I saw allot of people suprised by thailand's costs earlier this year when i was there. But its not really a true 3rd world country anymore at this point so the costs are understandable.

I average 1400-2000+ per month depending on location, time of year etc. SEA isn't as cheap as it once was just a few years ago but it's based on what activities one likes to do. Most of my expenses go to lodging. I don't stay in fancy places but I also don't stay in cheap places. $30-60 per night is my average.

I would be interested in a video by yourself on how you really fill your day? How you deal with Boredom? Many expats talk about this being the number #1 problem when you are there long term. I also have a passive income from rental properties about the same amount as you, so could retire there. I have spent extended periods of time there from 1 month to 3 months and so much downtime in the hotel room staring at 4 walls wondering what to do next, I get really homesick. Many just end up in Weatherspoon's all day. The thing is with work it fills the best part of the day for better or worse. All the better if the work is interesting and pays well. I read somewhere although a lot of people look forward to retirement, many shrivel up and die within 5 years. The pensions companies know this. So you genuinely seem to be enjoying your time away from home, would be interesting if you could address this subject?

@@RetireandGo It's rare and depends what country in my experience. In SEA they never ask me for a departing ticket. In places like Mexico, Colombia and other Latin American countries they usually do. Europe they never ask me anything.
Having enough money to retire has been my main focus for the last couple of years. I’m 54, retired military and make about 4K a month. I also have about 500K worth of investments, about 15% of that. I cannot touch until I’m 59 1/2. After watching this video, I feel pretty stupid for not leaving the US sooner. Time to sell everything and leave!

They still work at the job of making videos, however they are retired from a life of stress and unhappiness which is what retirement has come to mean and which is what people want.
