Probably but to be honest when you’re playing on the field you got your eye on the ball the entire time. But yeah i say for tv they should change to color of the ball to like red or black something that’s a polar opposite to the white net on the stick.
To be completely honest it depends on where you live because it was a Native American sport it’s pretty big on the east coast but not very well known on the west coast and as for the ball tracking it’s the sorta the same as keeping track a hockey puck
@@connormahan1791 well a hockey puck is black on an ice platform that’s easy to see a white or yellow ball flying across a field constantly is horrible to keep track of
@@ethanhoang1165 Yeah I get that. But at the same time, they usually don't work about 80% of the time they try it. And lacrosse can still be just as fun without it too. It's like adding sprinkles to an ice cream sundae. Not everyone will want sprinkles on their sundae but if you want it then feel free, it doesn't taste like anything though.
As someone who played goalie for 2 seasons in JV in high school, before leaving it behind to focus full time on school and my 1500 in track and field, it is insane that these guys are able to catch 70-80 MPH (maybe even over 90 MPH) fastball shots and I give these guys all the credit in the world.
I never knew about this sport before. I just knew it today when I saw a sports list vote on TH-cam. This sport is underrated and it's look like hockey but with a butterfly net.
@@seanmonaghan2059 We were 8-0 and I went from Middie, to goalie, to forward (scorer), back to goalie where I stayed at backup goalie for all of sophomore year and I was okay with that because the next year I went and did track and field full-time and focused on my 1500m and 800 races. I still remember the game-saving shot I had in OT after my friend went out with a ball to the shoulder blade (it wasn’t broke thankfully), and it was a lot of fun. Not so much fun seeing those same guys from my JV team become varsity players and us only get 6 wins the whole year and barely miss out of the section tournament.
Yeah man, really fun sport, very competitive and I played soccer like since I could walk but with lacrosse there’s always something to work on, always. Maybe it’s your stick skill, or your off hand or shooting, passing, dodges everything man. If your school has it please give it a shot and if you’re good at running coaches will teach you everything you need to know. Goodluck!!
Throwing, catching, and cradling Cradlings the easiest to get used too Throwing somewhat hard to get used too Catching takes quite awhile due to the size of the ball and the limited sight from all the other players trying to catch it aswell
Its seems like hand ball game but so hard to track who has the ball. And even if they have the ball how will someone will able to intercept as the ball is in the stick bag.
First time watch lacrosse. I have some questions: 1. When the player has the ball, how can the other team get back it? 2. How can the opponent player be stopped? Is allowed something like rugby? 3. Are there limitations for the positions of the players on the field? Like, can the goalkeeper go out that circle? 4. Is mandatory to pass the ball? 5. While moving when you have the ball, do you have to do something? (like basketball or gaelic football)
How come field lacrosse goalies don’t wear leg pads? This coming from hockey guy and now loving lacrosse at age 39. Lacrosse balls are not soft. Cheers
@@koejoe I used to play in goal... when I first started out, I wore everything and anything I could get my hands on by way of protection! But as I got more comfortable in the position, I whittled it all away so had bare minimum. My thinking (and probably others better than I) was the increased mobility/flexibility with less padding. Do it. It's like learning how to snowboard. It may seem difficult but once you pick up the fundaments of passing, cradling, shooting, and dodging it'll all go up from there and you will have a blast playing
@Charles Hunnewell yeah far to much protection, children wear only a helmet learning how to play a harder game, the game off hurling it's over 3000 years old yeah I said that right 3k 3 thousand years old, this lacross hasn't a patch on it

what does the guy in the back of the net does?
the guy in the net is the goalie, he tries to stop the other team from scoring but the guy behind the net is an x attackman
Yeah the x attackman is kind of like the facilitator and in youth they are often the ones to get to the ball first if a shot is off the mark
The guy in the back behind the goal is the x man. He chases shots and controls the offense . He is often the best shooter on the team
