@@wabi_sabi thank you for the great content! I finished all of :3ildcats videos and I didnt have much to watch, so this channel was perfect! The quality is just as good!
Side by side is super interesting but i cant say for certain which is better or why because im mixing the sounds in my head too much. I want the linear style presentation of one then the other then maybe give us the side by side.
i will now have to art's and Crafts my own pcb/plate foam for my kbd67mk2, after waiting 6+ months for the board to ship, they didn't even include foam for the most expensive version of the kit. Thanks! kbdfans, you're the best! -Borat voice "NOOOOOOT"
@@wabi_sabi yeah apparently the black ink polycarb version of the kbd67mk2 does not ship with foam, so i had to order some separately, which would have been helpful knowing when i ordered the board, now im spending more than double the price of the foam just shipping it. Ah well, just sucks.
Use a little bit of soapy water on the adhesive side, dries in a min or two. Makes it a lot easier to align the foam. I used a shallow plate to hold soapy water, just lightly dip adhesive side, then align foam. (No need to drench the foam)
Im new to this and I placed the foams between the pcb and the plate... Do you think that makes a difference? I'm still building mine and will upload after it is done.
I like the idea with different audio sources per channel. But in my opinion the difference is hardly distinguishable. I mean it is there definetly but maybe if you try to synchronize your typing on right and left channels and highlight/increase that pitch noise from plate in audio editor(just a bit) it will be more representative. Or just mute each channel a bit one at a time and then another. Just an idea. Overall great video, really pleasant to watch(and listen of course:)) Edit: why did choose to use foam and not to swap your plate to carbon fiber one?
Thank you for watching. Also, thank you for your valuable feedback. We will use it as a reference for future video production. Here are some answers to your questions. First of all, there were not many videos on TH-cam about Form, so I wanted to try it out myself. Also, this product was recently launched in Japan and I thought it might be able to help people in Japan.
iphone users: top speaker should be the left audio, and bottom should be the right audio :) i have an iphone 8+ so idk if its different on other phones
It can be removed immediately, but it must be removed carefully. Also, if it's been a long time since you installed it, there's a good chance that the glue is stuck to the plate.
I dont think the results are precise… That ping comes from one switch in particular after reassembly that switch went to a different key of the keyboard, which is why it didnt sound after testing it. Plate foam dampens but also mutes and lowers the pitch of the keyboard making them all sound very similar… Lubing that switch in particular would have been better idea

Thank you.
I've been listening to his videos as well, and they are all great videos.
I also respect how often he updates his videos.
A really good idea and technique!
Great idea to do left/right! In addition to at the same time, I'd love if the left and right also take turns in some sections

Hey man, thanks for the video! I really REALLY liked the left and right sound test. I have never seen it with sounds tests. Great video!
Awesome video! The left/right sound test was dope
Thank you so much!
Why some people put modular foams top of the plate than between of the pcb and plate?
ok that side by side sound test was genius
I ordered the foam because of you lol thanks for the vid!

its good in terms of distinguishability but its kinda messy compared to having two different audio sources.

That was very helpful.
I'll try it next time it's time to assemble the keyboard.
Thank you.
thank you for making a video about this part!!!!!! i was so curious about it

nice work!! your videos are inspiring me to build myself an othorlinear keyboard too!
Let's enjoy the 40% together!

What switch puller do you use?
It's from RAMA. But V01 (used in this video) is pretty crappy. it bends along the logo cutouts.

Can you remove and re apply the module foam if you make a mistake?

Form or foam?
Sorry, I meant "Foam".
