The peachy printer thing seems like it was a scam from the start. Why would he have a calm interview about the money being stolen with the guy who stole it...? Just report it and get the money back surely. I think they were both in on it, pocketed the money and filmed this stupid story
And on that note, why if you've stolen the money would you go "Yes, I stole it. And I'm willing to have a nice sit down chat on camera saying I stole it, thus incriminating myself"

But yeah this is a clear investigation requirement now that is shady as fuck. At best the guy set this all up to make his goon the fall guy in terms of internet targeting. I'm more confused than angry about the micro 3D printer scam, all thanks to that low budget documentary they decided to make using 0.001% of the money they accumulated from the backers. It's like a child trying to convince his parents that a time-travelling sentient dinosaur was the one who ate all the cookies from the cookie jar.
well the peachy printer is pretty easy, call the canadian feds, report him for tax fraud AND for his theft. they will take possession of his home and his possessions and sell it and use the money to refund the backers. then he will go to a federal prison. when making a judgement in regards to stolen money anything purchased with the money is also legally considered to be stolen and will be taken, this includes a home or car.

For a couple hundred thousand. Literally! If they had a real mini 3D printer in the first place they coulda sold off the whole hassle to the highest bidder
Absolutely love this series, but just wanted to ask if anyone else was confused by how the first scam works (the Kickstarter/Facebook one)? Putting aside that the product wasn't real in the first place, is the scam that people were spending more money for the same product on Facebook (which is why you beat them at their own game by going over to Kickstarter to buy it)?
No, the Facebook scam was pretending to be the kickstarted item for much cheaper but in reality they probably just sent you a cheap shoddy HDD. The kickstarter itself was obviously a scam too though, no random company is going to be making an SSD that size with that capacity.
The peachy printer one was obviously planned quite early on. They had the apology video ready months ahead and making a documentary out of it seems like an attempt to fix what happened.
i honestly don't understand how people can feel comfortable spending other people's money on themselves. especially stating later that they "regret" it. it's like....i don't care that you regret it, you did it in the first place. that says a lot about your character, and even more that you decide later it wasn't right. you know, AFTER you gained from it :D sitting in his nice new house "yeah. i regret spending all of those people's money on this. i should probably tell them so"

I bought it at my very first Fantasy Fair. I don't now when exactly but it must be from before 2009.
I completely forgot about the Peachy Printer thing until the floating head confession. I didn't recognize the product or the guy's name, but I recognized that insane shot.

Shout out from Charlotte NC in the States, long time viewer. This is going to sound ignorant but what would you define your accent as, I cant figure if its just the accent plus unique voice that has me intrigued or the accent is from a small area in Europe (As in not many people have it, so harder to distinguish)? Either way love the videos and that you put yourself more in the video instead of only narrating it. Keep it up bro!
J. Dyes England. He is from England. Not all British accents are the same. Londoners has a different accent than say someone from Northern England. Each region is different. Some cities are different within the same area.
@@cheshyr1 Thanks for clearing that up. Over here in states (like anywhere) theres many accents but sometimes it's more of the person's unique voice that makes it hard to pinpoint origin.
So the takeaway from all this is you can rip people off without consequences on crowdfunding sites. Those peachy printer guys and their amateur dramatics friends basically got a free house plus all the backers money leftover and walked into the sunset with it. That printer was a fake and all the people in that video were in on it and getting a cut. Not sure why they wernt arrested for something but maybe the kickstarter tos absolves them of responsibility and they committed no crime. Never understood why anyone would pay to crowdfund something, just wait till its finished and on store shelves and avoid all this. A fool and his money etc.....
So basically 3d printer guy agreed to let his partner embezzle money as a loan on the condition that he made a weird video admitting to it (in the past tense) which would then be released if the partner did not pay back the money in a timely fashion. He didn't like the thing, but wasn't willing to actually stop it because the guy had given him the money to start the project in the first place and so instead he came up with the weird video idea which he thinks puts him in the clear by having the other guy take all the blame in advance. Innovation of all sorts comes from people who think differently than others. I'll totally buy that the guy who (at least thought) he figured out a way to produce a dirt cheap 3d printer also thought he had come up with a brilliant original solution to how to deal with his partner illegally "borrowing" money without it becoming a problem. It didn't work out in either case.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were actually laundering money for someone else through the project. Either than or one of them owed a bunch of money to a loan shark and they squandered the rest on themselves.
how is the dude that used the money to buy a house not in jail and how could his business partner just sit next to the guy as he tells him what he did and not kill the man? I don't understand how that story was not illegal in every way.
Even if you stuck four 256GB SD cards on an adapter in a box, it still wouldn't be that cheap. I'd hope the people coming across ads for cheap portable storage would at least have an idea of how much an SD card or USB stick cost.
i've only pleadged to 2 kickstarter campains; wisdom tree arkade and retro fighters brawlers N64 controllers. and yes i had done my research on both companies. am happy with results on both.
If you look closely enough you can see that both Dave and his partner were reading a script on the laptop. That interview was a cover up to them both scamming people. The laptop is setup to how both people can see it.
another stolen campaign is the video game for Homestuck, Hiveswap. it raised over $1m on Kickstarter and almost all the money was stolen and put towards the development of the 2015 King's Quest game
I guess it was not a easy peachy, looks like the only way people are destroying that house is in sims/animal crossing. That story was the psychical incarnation of financial 4d gymnastics.
I attempted every permutation of the peachyprinter self-build instructions.... to zero success. I am nearly convinced that something fishy may be occurring here...
Oh, lord. I was a Peachy backer, and remember when the bombshell dropped. To this day I'm amazed he/they got away with it. I feel like we should at least be getting some kind of rent or something from the (*$% house.

Kickstarter should sort this out.
Holy cow that middle one... That's just... So much detail almost has me convinced he is just trying to cover his own ass as well
Yeah that's the impression I got too. Annoyingly... no evidence against anything he has shown
I completely forgot about the Peachy Printer thing until the floating head confession. I didn't recognize the product or the guy's name, but I recognized that insane shot.
Does mean nobody will back my ‘fact quest book’ by professor Gary.
I was burned by funding Project Phoenix, which was to be a JRPG Several years have passed, no sign of even an Alpha build or anything tangible.
if you manage to scam people out of 320.000 dollar buildt a house with that money and get away with it having so much evidence against you!!!,, kudos to you!, fair play!...
nice one slopes, adding the sea of thieves tune to the start when you're talking about people stealing kickstarters.
I also added rhythm their and the thief theme from golden axe :P
Playing the usual theme has interesting connotations for this videos. "I'm going to take you for a ride." Well... these campaigns certainly will.
Weird to hear Crypt of the Necrodancer in the background... but not in a bad way.
That necrodancer song made me panic for a split second because I wasn't pressing buttons to the beat.
The Peachy Printer campaign told people they were scammed through a Call of Duty trailer? Man, that's cold...
6:11 that dude looks incredible baked right there.
Also great watch, especially that section haha. Keep up the great work dude and stay safe.
Cheers buddy. I felt like there was quite the variety in these 3. Glad you liked it
Shout out from Charlotte NC in the States, long time viewer.
Have you looked into Chronicles of Elyria? (MMO video game kickstarter)
I just got a TH-cam ad for a 2TB SSD just after that part of the video
So the takeaway from all this is you can rip people off without consequences on crowdfunding sites. Those peachy printer guys and their amateur dramatics friends basically got a free house plus all the backers money leftover and walked into the sunset with it.
That printer was a fake and all the people in that video were in on it and getting a cut. Not sure why they wernt arrested for something but maybe the kickstarter tos absolves them of responsibility and they committed no crime.
Never understood why anyone would pay to crowdfund something, just wait till its finished and on store shelves and avoid all this. A fool and his money etc.....
Do a video where u include RAW the game. "Kickstarter canceled the campaign for MMORPG RAW just a day before it funded"
I really want a Kickscammers type tv show where they track these people down afterwards
I like your accent. As a bilingual I find easier to understand that most of english speaking people

Isn't that one of the posters for Extro?
Xtro & yeah it is.
@@iaincowell9747 Good movie, I have some story with it...
Hearing sonic 06 mentioned as a point of comparison....
thats a game which sticks with you for life.
What I'm learning is if you ever need alot of money and want to steal it from hundreds of people with no consequences Kickstarter is the way to go...
BINGO!
how is the dude that used the money to buy a house not in jail and how could his business partner just sit next to the guy as he tells him what he did and not kill the man? I don't understand how that story was not illegal in every way.
Even if you stuck four 256GB SD cards on an adapter in a box, it still wouldn't be that cheap. I'd hope the people coming across ads for cheap portable storage would at least have an idea of how much an SD card or USB stick cost.
i've only pleadged to 2 kickstarter campains; wisdom tree arkade and retro fighters brawlers N64 controllers. and yes i had done my research on both companies. am happy with results on both.

Interesting place to put a small reference to Radiant Silvergun.
Sea Of Thieves music at the start!
see what i did?
@@slopesgameroom Sneaky Daniel!
6:40 !!!!! Horizon chase turbo! Incredible game!
Very well spotted mate
1:50 just backed it a bout an hour ago, can't wait to watch it.
That guy made a McMansion? It looks terrible.
I am genuinely astonished that house has not been egged to shit. Hell I’m not even a backer and I want to fly to Canada just to egg the thing myself!!
If you look closely enough you can see that both Dave and his partner were reading a script on the laptop. That interview was a cover up to them both scamming people. The laptop is setup to how both people can see it.
another stolen campaign is the video game for Homestuck, Hiveswap. it raised over $1m on Kickstarter and almost all the money was stolen and put towards the development of the 2015 King's Quest game
it was released but not nearly as big as they had originally planned, and not similar to what they originally planned if memory serves me right
I guess it was not a easy peachy, looks like the only way people are destroying that house is in sims/animal crossing. That story was the psychical incarnation of financial 4d gymnastics.
The Rayman fanfare was a nice touch.
I attempted every permutation of the peachyprinter self-build instructions.... to zero success.
I am nearly convinced that something fishy may be occurring here...
A more appropriate name for that Mythic game would have been *Limbo Of The Lost.*
Slope, great video. I love how the moral of most of your videos is, "don't trust Canadians".
the fact that he found out waaaay b4 and giving cockknock there the chance to pay it back means he is culpable too cuz he hid it from backers also
12:55 golden axe im 80% sure the music is golden axe camp
before i really got into printing, the peachy really caught my eye, won't lie.
Oh, lord. I was a Peachy backer, and remember when the bombshell dropped. To this day I'm amazed he/they got away with it. I feel like we should at least be getting some kind of rent or something from the (*$% house.
How did you guys not pursue legal action?
13:08 this is one for Fredrick Knudsen 😱
@16:00 big shout out to Dan for the Warcraft II music 👌
Why would he let someone who looks homeless be in charge of money?
This is why I don't do kickstarter's and that peachy printer I don't think it would have been really cheap it would have probably been expensive
good taste with the necrodancer music
7:40 is that a typo $651.91 from Almost 4500 backers? What they contribute a handful of pennies each? Lol
"Any other ideas?"
BURN THE MOTHERFUCKING HOUSE DOWN!
Seriously, how the fuck was he supposedly going to replace 300 grand after blowing it all on that gigantic house that no one who doesn't breed like an insect would ever need?
