    Wilder was intellectual comedy when it wasn't done so much. I'll miss him. I rewatched Young Frankenstein not long after he died, and dang it's just amazing. I realize he is a part of so much of my comedy happy memories. If there is an afterlife of any sort, I hope he knows the joy he brought to so much of the world.

    That Barrymore scene from Dinner at Eight surprised me the first time I saw it. That whole movie was good, but Barrymore really pulls you into his hopeless depression for those few moments. Right in the middle of an otherwise light hearted comedic film. It's one of my favorite movies to this day, which is strange when you consider my other favorite movies.

    @rebeccaquinn6925 8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

    See no Evil, Hear no Evil had negative reviews when it was released which is...kinda stupid because I find the film quite entertaining to watch and it still shows that Gene Wilder and Richard Pryor have great comic chemistry together. R.I.P to both of them

      I like that movie too. My older brothers introduced it to me as a kid, and I thought it was really great in parts. Even now as adults we quote it occasionally, and it still cracks us up.

    I recently watched "The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother" and it's definitely Wilder's best and most absurd. Marty Feldman and Madeline Khan costar. There's a ton of slapstick, puns, and song and dance! My husband and I could not stop laughing and proclaiming WTF throughout this...musical.

    8:44 shows two Sloe Gin Fizz and FOUR Highballs! Even Earnesto would raise kitty-brows at 50 cents a Highball! Now THAT'S the cat's PAJAMAS!
    Nice symbolic imagery at 9:55 btw despite Craig's sassy Dalek reference. I'm guessing Jon Pertwee, 3rd Doctor timeline there.
    Have either of you seen the two Peter Cushing Dr.Who films: Dr. Who and the Daleks (1965) and Daleks - Invasion Earth : 2150 AD (1966)
    Finally, nice "Queen: Sheer Heart Attack" LP (cocaine result) reference in the background. You guys are always great.

    I wish you watched other media than film. I recently re-visited an old series called 'Flag', after ten years. I laughed and cried. It reminded me of my family, far away. It's a unique show. It takes the perspective of a journalist in a civil war. We see some brave people in the military, the struggle of the folk, and everyday tragedy. Regardless whether you mention it on the show, please watch it.

    There is (was) at least one print of this movie that was in better shape - USA's Night Flight used to show it back in the day. I have a feeling that this movie was a lot more "exploitative" when it came out but that those scenes disappeared into the collections of projectionists along the way. If you want a movie that shows drug use step by step, you need to watch Girl Gang with Timothy Farrell.
