Dan Siegel - Are we our mind?
Daniel J. Siegel is a respected global neuroscientist, professor of psychiatry at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and the Executive Director of the Mindsight Institute which offers development for individuals and groups focused on exploring the links between mind, human relationships and basic neurobiological processes. He has published extensively on psychotherapy and children's psychology.
What made Dr. Siegel attractive for us was his unique ability to make complicated scientific concepts exciting for the general public. His book Mindsight offers the general reader an in-depth exploration of the power of the mind to integrate the brain and promote well-being. He has been invited to lecture for the King of Thailand, Pope John Paul II, His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Google University, TED and TEDx.

About TEDx, x = independently organized event
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Love to listen to anything by Daniel Siegel. Harmony and compassionate communication are truly keys to our emotional well being. So important to understand this as we care for our children!

Why would you create children? A few guarantees in this life are suffering and death. Well-being is not needed for someone who doesn’t exist.

He had the microphones turned way up. But it only becomes more palpable. His skill in manipulating breath and the air with his hands doesn’t disprove him, only amplify. We really do pick up all this extra information in our environment, but learn to block it out. Can we integrate again?

Unbelievable that some doctors shouldn´t be aware of that people have emotions and a mind. But again it´s also said whether it´s true or not that not until 1969 it became aware to the world in general that humans have a mind and emotions. Naturally one might think what people like Freud then had been doing before that....

I would like to comment on what you said, but I don't know what "this" is ... in NLP this is called a deletion. "This" was developed. That's a hole in your thinking which has to be filled in by the listener. This can be helpful or not helpful depending on the context.
      How about that, then?

at the core of any evolutive process or any living system 're integration has to take place . 're integration is nothing but 're construction of the system towards more perfectioning which means more control of all parts of it ! do you start to see where consciousness is coming from ?? can you see here the roots of functioning of the so called artificial intelligence ??

This all seems pretty self evident. Too bad most people seem to need someone to explain it to them.

I reckon it's quite evident that you have a good opportunity to acknowledge the differences in people in this situation :)
