I always thought meshuggah sounded extremely similar to well composed jazz and classical, but in drop-d with distorted guitars and screaming. I’d love to hear more adaptations like this. Definitely can help non metal fans appreciate the complexity and creativity of the music beyond the heaviness.

And they are tuned lower than D. I believe the lowest string can be A and sometimes F? I don’t really know but it’s somewhere around that low.
