    Meshuggah should be included in music textbooks. I mean, they really revolutionized metal music and practically created a whole new genre of metal.

      It's crazy how they've been at it for decades and now there are a lot of bands coming up who where influenced by them, even if they didn't get a more deserving mainstream recognition they were still deeply influential for metal in general.

      I agree, but it would be messy once it's done at a very low tuning, percussive units needs to be distinguished in order to sound musical, but hey as I said You're totally right.

    Arnold Schoenberg defined musical success as: "When others both study and mimic you." By that definition, Meshuggah is one of the most successful metal bands there is. This sounds like something Pierre Boulez the famous 20th century composer would have come up with.

      Any musician worth thier salt would appreciate Meshuggah. I have played in jazz bands, orchestras, and many other more modern bands. Music doesn't draw borders. People do.

    The original is one of my favorite songs ever recorded. The distortion makes it difficult to distinguish any melody in the original. You brought to life just how truly haunting the song really is. I love it. Thank you.

      This song is in 4, but it could also be written in 12/8, which is 4 with a triplet feel. Just depends on whether or not you feel like writing down triplets or 1/8th notes

      I think Meshuggah is already on the curriculum and has been for a while, there are interviews with the band talking about this:) They donated a whole bunch of instruments to the music school after a fire also.

    Meshuggah is not a metal band. Meshuggah is a avantgarde jazz camouflaged as metal. Hearing jazz musicians playing Meshuggah simply just sounds like straight up jazz. I love it!

    I always thought meshuggah sounded extremely similar to well composed jazz and classical, but in drop-d with distorted guitars and screaming. I’d love to hear more adaptations like this. Definitely can help non metal fans appreciate the complexity and creativity of the music beyond the heaviness.

    Top notch work. Very nice pushing the time and listening in to each other. I bet people in your studio had fist fights on who was getting to play on this piece. Very enjoyable, I like it better that the original, but I might have a percussive bias. ;)
