Found a electric Honda Minimoto go kart in trash and son wanted to convert to gas, mmmm HP. After a few weeks and a few modifications we ended up with a quick 35mph go kart.
Most parts for the mod were found at Norton Tool And Equipment. The beefed up caliper for the disk break I found at a Scooter shop. Yes, custom bracket was welded to hold onto the new caliper. There are no plans for something like this. I'm lucky to have an engineer for Nasa (my brother) to help me out. Good Luck
Great conversion; I've been thinking about doing that since we got our Minimoto seven or eight years ago -- and had less than one week enjoyment from it! No fixes for electrical problems. I built a killer roll bar and front nerf bars for ours, but the red plastic has all gone rotten. PLS! How can I get more specifics on your rebuild? Esp. where did you source the clutch, sprockets and chain? What was beef-up technique for brake? I weld and fabricate well; do big car restoration. Thx! Wick
I got one out of the trash awhile back and put a 49cc pocket bike engine on it with gear transmission. It ran great and had enough power to drift. Today i decided i was going to put a badass roto till 2 stroke motor on it. Made the clutch cup and gear box fit toegether but where do you find tires for these beside ebay???
@dibiase56 I used a 6.5 HP motor from Harbor Freight $100.00 on sale great deal but it looks like they don't sell anymore. They have one called the predator 212cc OHV Horizontal shaft now for $150 that should work very well. good luck , watch my video for any how to's
This kids a freakin boss! I did that exact same thing to my old mini moto go kart but with a 5 hp Briggs and Stratton engine a couple days ago

Did you buy the sprocket at north tools?? Because I have a mini moto two and I'm doing the same but I need a sprocket with bigger teeth

Not for sale any more. Found this one in the garbage and spent a bit over $200 to modify it

Where did you get the brake caliper and how did you mount it to the go kart?
It was all good until that darn blue motor was the one u chose to put in the kart. Doing Honda an injustice! Lol other than that big one, it’s kool

He is 5-2 Kart originally will take a person up to 5-10 but now after the modification should take some one up to 6-2
