    Very good. I went with the UMI brand, and was impressed how well they tucked under. Additionally, I think I am going to place a little sticker on the side of them in 4 strategic locations "jacking point". To hopefully reduce the damage from ignorant people in the future. Thanks.

    Nice video. I’m getting ready to weld mine in. I went with the S&W racecars subframes and torque arm setup. I’m needing to get a driveshaft as well. Curious as to what you went with. Saw in the video it was aluminum. I’m a 6 spd for now so I need something strong. Got a moser 9” so my driveshaft is the weak link and it won’t work anyway.

      3.5” aluminum with 1350 joints and billet strange toke from PST. Rated at 1200+hp. If you go back a few videos in the Chaos Theory playlist I go over it. This whole build is shown step by step in detail in that playlist. 👍

    Entonces mi problema es el panhart, metí un diferencial de 97 en 3g 88 y raspa la ceja en la llanta tracera , gracias ya se cual es mi problema , saludos de Monterrey nuevo León México

      Los extremos traseros del camaro de cuarta generación son más largos que los extremos traseros de la tercera generación. por lo tanto, debe hacer funcionar las ruedas con un desplazamiento diferente para que las llantas vuelvan a entrar en los huecos de las ruedas traseras.

    92 and 92...these go on so much easier. They are by far the best built 3rdgens. 85-90 Camaros flex like crazy. They are 350lbs heavier than the 82 introduced at 2900lbs. Not to mention the big boy that wants a rider in the drinker side. Park on a curb and you may see the dashboard twist.

    Do you think that the trailling arm side could be welded all the way in on the sides and replace the exsisting bracket? The one that the trailling arm is attached to on the body, not the wheel.

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      Honestly I’m not sure what you’re asking brother. Like I said in the video, you’re supposed to weld it to the LCA bracket. Doing that helps to support the factory LCA mount and make it stronger.

    What’s the difference between having the back end supporting its own weight on the tires vs jackstands under the axle tubes? Rear axle is still loaded.

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      There isn’t a difference. All that matters is the car is level and the suspension is supporting it.

      I just went back and watched because your question had me wondering…it seems I misspoke toward the beginning of the video. I said not to put the jackstands under the “subframe or axle” but that was incorrect. I meant to say not to put them under the subframe or k-member. Im known to have a brain fart from time to time. The older I get the more often it happens. But thank you for bringing my attention to this! Im going to see if I can somehow edit that part of the video. 👍

    What was the performance like after installing the Sub frame connectors?

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No noticeable difference whatsoever. They’re simply there to prevent excessive body flex. That’s it.

  • @teamsharpracing9943

    Is it necessary to have the car on its own weight? I put mine in on Jack stands. I know it keeps the body at its true setting, but I didn't really have a way to do it on its own weight.

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      UMI clearly states in the instructions that the cars needs to be supporting it’s own weight. If you don’t have ramps, you can grab blocks of wood or concrete blocks to put under the wheels. You can also use jackstands under the rear axle and ramps or blocks under the front wheels and that would still have the suspension supporting the car. You just don’t want to have jackstands supporting the car from the frame/body.

    Curious what's your opinion on the bolt on frame connectors I feel like it would rip the bolts out

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      My opinion is they’re a waste of money. Unless you’re doing road race circuits you don’t even really “need” subframe connectors on these cars until you start making serious power. And in either case the bolt on connectors generally wont limit chassis flex anywhere near as much as the weld in connectors.

    • @dextermonk8476
      @dextermonk8476 ปีที่แล้ว

      @BadLuckGarage thank you got a 396 sbc for my 85 was curious about them

    • @BadLuckGarage
      @BadLuckGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you’ve watch all the videos in the Chaos Theory Camaro playlist, you’ll see we pushed this car down into the low 6s before I finally did these subframe connectors with zero sign of flex. For a drag car I really feel they’re unnecessary for anything slower than that and at that point you should technically already have a cage which is going to stiffen the chassis up more than subframe connectors anyway.
