This brings back so many good memories of my CBR250. It had the Respol livery on it. I thought it was the fastest thing ever. And to me it was. The sense of liberation it gave me, the grin I had on my face every time I swung my leg over. My sister has it now and I occasionally do ride it. I could never ride it again on a daily basis but that sense of danger is gone when I ride it. It's such a fun little thing that has brought me and my sister endless hours of joy. It will always hold a special place in my heart.

I'm an older guy and riding for 3 years on the road, longer on a dirt bike. Just got the 2014 Ninja 300 SE ABS in pearl white with the red and black decals. It's a super fun bike and will be great for commuting or whatever you want to do with it. I use mine for commuting and carry a small rear pack for my shoes and such. Or a backpack which I do not like to use. I used to have a 1980 Honda CM400, NC700x (totaled due to hitting a deer) and am getting a BMW G650GS for winter commuting. Congrats and enjoy the bike!!
Excellent vid bud ! I have ridden hyper and super bikes for years and they are great, but now have found my way back onto bikes like these ,where every tiny improvement is so more challenging and rewarding ! be safe !
German roads are amazing and well though out. This part of Germany looks so much like the northeastern USA. I'm blessed to live in the southeast because of year round riding weather, but I get so sick of the pine trees.

this video made me happy im going to feel out/sit on a ninja 300 tomorrow, i was on the fence between this and a suzuki but after reading/watching many reviews the ninja 300 seems like the best choice.

Suddenly I'm glad I bought mine 2nd hand with 4100km on the clock, so I didn't have to break her in... the woman that had it probably never revved it out. And looking at the badly squared off tyres (like chicken strips as big as the part she actually used...) she really pampered it. I just did some longer rides the first 2 times (100-ish km) to get her nice and warm (first 5 km under 6k rpm) so I could start revving her :D. Now I feal like the bike doesn't want to move until you hit 7k rpm :D and above that it's really good fun :D. I have friends with GSX-R750, and GSX-1250F kind of bike's and ride with them sometimes, its more then enough in the twisty stuff (as long as there isn't a long straight in it they won't be pulling away from you). Even to the point that sometimes they're bored because they can't use any of their bike's power (or can't even stay in the power band) while I'm having a blast and throwing her around, revving it to the limiter at every corner exit :D. Not even taking into account the since there isn't that much power its easy to ride in bad (wet) conditions, while my friends are afraid to even look at the throttle in wet corners :D
I noticed the terrain, buildings and motorcars were not typical of the USA. I'm glad Murtanio replied in German. At least we know where he's riding and it makes the Nurburgring more plausible. Even though he's riding his new bike like a newbie, I've watched him on other post, and he rides like someone very experienced with sportbikes.
I enjoyed the video. I am looking at the Ninjas now for a first bike (although I am considerably older than you), and they look like a great commuter. Watching your video was like taking a ride through a part of Europe I probably never will see (Australian here). Thanks.

pretty sick right? it's best to start small even if you don't have to..you will learn so much faster..heck I regret not starting on 300 (sv650)..beginnings would be much easier, v2 throttle response is hard, and I was putting knees down in my 2nd season so still pretty fast learner but not like this guy..he was scraping elbows in his 2nd season lol

Nice bike and video. So clean where you live Nice roads with flush fitting manhole cover's instead of the two or three inch recessed one's where I live - like a pothole. Courteous driver's too and they actually look like they're watching where their going. Sorry for rambling on.

Nice bike there as a starter bike. In my country, the Ninja 300 (SE only) are sold with Arrow slip-on exhaust. And it is surely sounds a lot better than the stock. Love the looks of this bike tho.

Got the same bike but the white se ! It felt like a life time trying to stay under 6k rpms for the first 600 miles ! But after that it a nice bike to ride I'm ready to upgrade to a 600 though

Wenn du was Sportliches in der 48PS Klasse suchst dann greif entweder zu ner gebrauchten 600er und drossel sie, oder halt zur 300er. Die Position ist sehr angenehm, dezent sportlich. Super leicht und vor allem handlich das Ding. Falls du gerne Kurven sportlich fährst, kauf dir Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2 Reifen. Sie fährst sich 100 mal besser mit den Reifen. Die Standardreifen sind nicht so überzeugend. Klar gewöhnt man sich an die Beschleunigung und der Wow Effekt ist kaum noch da, jedoch schießt sie dennoch los in den höheren Drehzahlen. Tolles Bike! Wann bekommst du deine?
Murtanio Dauert noch, muss erstmal in der Arbeit bisschen was anpacken und dann kann man in 1-2 Jahren vielleicht drüber nachdenken. Hab ja noch eine 125er hier^^ Danke für die schnelle Antwort Mir geht es ja auch grade mit darum das sie sehr erschwinglich ist! + ABS und ich nunmal eine Sportler/Supersport Fan bin. Ansonsten würd ich gerne eine 600rr oder s1000rr fahren aber das ist dann doch ein wenig zu viel
I ride a Ninja 300 KRT, and for me it is definitely powerful enough. Since it's a light bike, it'll go from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 60 mi) in a little over 5 seconds, and the top speed in good conditions lies around 180 km/h. I've never used it at higher speeds than 160, but honestly I don't find that necessary anyways. Especially as a starter bike, the Ninja 300 is great if you ask me.
Is this comfortable? How do you like the chain drive (I'm considering shaft drive)? How do you think this compares to Yamaha fz-07? How is the maintenance cost so far?
are you going to do the hard break in or easy break in? also change the exhaust first you need to be heard if they don't hear you, you have a bigger chance of being hit i'm saving up for this bike and a TB exhaust.
Late comment, I know, but bigger exhaust does not mean people will hear you. Next time you're in a car try and listen for emergency vehicles. You can't hear them until they're very close most often, and they have front-facing sirens. Imagine how a rear-facing (also smaller engine) motorcycle exhaust sounds. It doesn't do much, especially at high speeds or when the other car has their windows up/music up/on their phone.
dealer told me 200km at 4k, yes shure, mine told me even 30km at 4k. But in the bikes manual, they say first 800km at 4k and then another 800km at 6k!!

Ich benutz die 300er auch fürn Alltag. Geeignet ist sie dafür auf jeden Fall. Paar Freunde von mir haben cbr 500er und die sind nicht schneller als meine 300er.

Fyi in most states you have to pass drivers ed, then have a learners permit for a year, and then have your limited provisional license for 6 months before you can get a motorcycle endorsement if you are under 18.

hmmm.. 2014 300 ninja Ebony... or the Green SE edition? I cant decide. I think I may want to get the black one, and throw a little bit of lime on it.
Go for the Green SE mate ;) It looks so much better than the black one and you are more visible and safer.

Fyi in most states you have to pass drivers ed, then have a learners permit for a year, and then have your limited provisional license for 6 months before you can get a motorcycle endorsement if you are under 18.
