    When you're on the side of the road like that, keep your head on a swivel and don't worry about vlogging. Idiots on their phones kill more and more stopped motorists and wrecker operators every year. Don't be one of em.

    It was good to met you at UCC/ODR21 this past weekend. I was left stranded on my trip home as well, mine was a little more catastrophic. I drove my race vehicle to/from event hoping to not have any issues. About 90 miles from home the engine decided it had enough and crank broke (yeah it's a stock bottom-end duramax). Time to build bottom-end to handle 7.70 index class. See you at next event.

    A good tip to remember when you're using your semi of course you know the brakes are powered off of air if you hear a pop and start losing air you better pull over because the brakes will lock up or you'll burn them up

  • @Burn280
    @Burn280 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Maybe you've mentioned it before but why did you install a gooseneck on that truck instead of putting an adapter on your trailer to run off the 5th wheel plate on the Tractor.

    • @glennrobichaux7490
      @glennrobichaux7490 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clearance would be tight when turning between trailer and back wheels. Also makes more sense thst having to swap the pin hitch to gooseneck hitch on the trailer when he wants to pull with a pickup

    • @Burn280
      @Burn280 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@glennrobichaux7490 with a good sliding 5th wheel there wouldnt be any clearance issue and I'm talking that they make an adapter literally is just a ball on one side to go in th eff trailer and plate with king pin on the other so wouldnt have to convert the trailer back each time. Personally I think it would just look cleaner. The truck itself is pretty clean with a janky tow setup on the back.

    • @ClarksAutoAndPerformance

      He ain’t no truck driver though. If he was using it for a career you better bet he would go top to bottom. And the lines are fine it’s The valve seals. And I’ll bet you $1000 you don’t check your air lines regularly 😂 and that your truck airs all the way down over night 😆 you might check them if you hear air but that’s it.

  • @GavinS6
    @GavinS6 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    looks like an anti compounding valve. that valve keeps air pressure from going to the service side of the brakes when the emergency/parking side is active. if not for that valve you would run the risk of damaging slacks, cams, shoes, drums.

    • @tjtrent2351
      @tjtrent2351 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anti compounding is built in to most spring brake relay and service brake relays since the early nineties, just sayin. Yes, the crossover line helps avoid it, but it’s not an Inversion/Bobtail/AntiCompound valve. Thank god for updates to air system components over the years.

      Under coat is a terrible thing to do, it traps in moisture and causes things to rust and corrode faster than if unprotected. Our fleet is based in WI, and with ~100 trucks and double that in trailers, getting them all washed underneath every week just isn't happening. We run upper Midwest and North East mostly, in the salt daily for 6+ months out of the year. Our oldest trucks are '15's and they have no paint left on the rear of the frame and drives. The chemicals today just eat it off.
