I want Father Gregori to come back, I really do (he is my favorite Half-life character), but consider how close Ravenholm was to City 17; it's only on the outskirts, likely 10 - 15 miles outside the city. Realistically, he'd probably die, and there's no reason to believe he left Ravenholm since he was only interested in freeing his "flock" and shepherding them to the afterlife. Because of this, he was probably caught in the radioactive blast of the Combine's Citadel. I don't think he survived -- but I want him to.
I think it was like 20-30 miles away, not far but not that close. I think he probably felt a nice shockwave but the town wouldn’t have been destroyed in the blast.
It is heavily implied that Breens consciousness got transfered to a combine advisor before the citadel exploded. It's even theorized that Breen is the advisor that killed Eli.
Unlikely, Adrian was just meant to be a character for opposing force and they likely never had any plans for him past that, Not to mention that opposing force apparently isn't even cannon.
@@OverHourOpposing Force wasn't ever confirmed to be canon or not canon. The most official stance on it is that it's in a Shrondinger's Cat situation. Half Life writer Marc Laidlaw has gone on to state that his canonness depends solely on whether they can write a valid reason for G-man to use him. One could argue that with Alyx serving as Gordon's replacement following his deviation from G-man's intended plan, then there's no true use for Adrian, writing wise. Since that'd be the easiest place to slot him in.
@@OverHourDespite that, Opposing Force IS canon… somewhat. Sure, we have not seen Adrian appear in any of the other HL games (only mentioned in Blue Shift), same goes for Race X. BUT, the nuclear bomb that destroys Black Mesa at the end of OpFor is actually canon to the HL lore.

During HL2 it seems like G-Man’s plan involved more or less dropping Gordon into City 17 to destroy The Citidel and then pull him out after, and the Combine where so piss scared of him in HLA that they sealed an entire apartment building he was in using concentrated vortescense from the captured vortigaunts… but refusing to remove the combine from earth as requested by Young Alyx as that nudge is “too large given the interest of my employers” All these considered is why I interpreted the end of HLA as this… Obviously due to the vortigaunts seemingly… releasing? That’s why he was looking for a suitable replacement. During this talk he tells us he “plucked” Alyx from Black Mesa as an “investment” he “shall not squander”, and having Gordon see her safely to white forest to relay “prepare for unforeseen consequences” to Eli. Before HLA came along, and let’s be honest probably ended the way it did to, on a meta level, write Valve out of the nearly 2 decade old Epistle 3 hole they had dug themselves in… we assumed these “unforeseen consequences” referred to Eli’s death. The resistance would have to grapple with this while Gordon and Alyx go meet Judith and Breen Grub in the arctic at the Borealis, we send the ship to destroy the combine, realize it’s not gonna do anything, yadda yadda the series ends on a massive very unsatisfying cliffhanger. Boom that was Half Life 2 Episode 3 as it was originally concepted to go. Honestly as much as I love Laidlaw and as glad as I was to have Epistle 3’s closure I’m kinda glad that never happened because man that planned ending is just a massive let down really. Anyway forget that because HLA completely retconned Epistle 3 or at least things are gonna go much different. I mean during the wake up Gordon scene G-man is visible walking away. Clearly he took our Alyx. What does this mean for Past Alyx? My opinion. Nothing. G-Man can bend space and time and for the sake of the plot not being stupid there can’t be 2 Alyx’s nor do I think 2 timelines either. If him abducting Alyx in the past struck her from the future well Gordon would’ve never even reached the point of Ep2 in that new timeline. I consider everything that happened in HLA pre G-Man to have played out far differently in the main timeline or is basically uncanon. Temporary. A over complicated means to a cosmic end. As if G-Man had a plan to hire Alyx but something about how HL2E2 panned out (Eli’s Death) challenged the plan somehow, so he went into an offshoot timeline in the past to nab an Alyx capable of rewriting the present and once she had it done, consolidated the timeline back to how it was. The only difference being that “This entity will continue, this entity will not”. G-Man can bend time but I’m not confident from what we’ve seen that G-Man knows the future so it’s possible Eli’s death was never part of his plan. Same as Adrian or the Vorts, the Combine Advisor who made Eli Brain soup was a foreign variable that needed to be adapted too, and by allowing the events of HLA to happen, killed two nihilinths with one metaphorical resonance cascade. Unsure how they will deal with it, if they do at all, but there would appear to be two versions of Alyx with different continuities who have different memories from the age of 19 and onwards. The Alyx we play as in Half Life: Alyx will have the memories of everything in her life to 19 as normal and the game itself and in the end being adopted by G-man to use as an agent. Then there is the Alyx we meet in Half Life 2, who is 24 and presumably doesn't have any memories of being claimed by G-man and used as one of his agents, but her life up to the age of 19 would have been the same, she just had 5 more years living on occupied earth and no G-man influence. It could be possible she was on Gman missions the whole time, but just like Gordon, it never came up to anyone she met, and also just like Gordon, all her actions appeared to be helping the resistance with no one knowing why Gman put her there, not even herself. in which case we might not need to bother with any convoluted timelines, she might have known her dad was about to die in that moment, but also had the memories of when she was 19 and stopped it.

Since we got a Plot twist with HL:A it’s very likely that the events of HL2 haven’t taken full part, since Alyx got abducted by the Gman before she met Freeman. Leaving it questionable if Dr Breen is really dead and not in control anymore
and a project that was Half-Life 3 was actually in the works before being cancelled, what's your point? Alyx alone is proof that there is more to come, I read The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx and they genuinely entertained the idea of ending the story with this game by (spoilers) having Alyx ask G-Man to "nudge" Combine off Earth and he just agrees, and that's it for the franchise. They ultimately decided against it and that means they have plans. Most of "HL3 IS DEFINITELY COMING NOW!!!" was just speculation, or leaks from the HL3 cancelled project, but HL3 is now (again) a distinct possibility.
I Wonder if The Resistance and the Combine are racing with P Body and Atlas to Retrieve Borealis, that would be cool seeing 2 robots sent by GLaDoS teleporting through portal left and right racing them to reach The Borealis.
borney is most likley at a resistance camp with other escapees from the citadel explosion, because as we know at the end of ep 1 barney leaves with the other people in the train.
Imo breen grub is canon, surprised you didn't mention it but I can see how it might not even be canon. Also the nihilanth was the last of it's species after they were hunted by the combine, it might get an offhand mention or a new nihilanth not connected to hl1. I do doubt adrian will make a return due to it being in canon limbo whether opposing force is canon or not due to it being made by gearbox as a spin off not cared about by valve
My prediction is, she's not Black Mesa staff, at all; possibly a former Aperture employee/escapee (same thing). How she could possibly know about the G-Man and his being seen at Black Mesa, I don't know. I imagine G-Man only *allows* people to see him, and only because he is about to manipulate them. To what end was this nameless, faceless woman being used, and when/how did she start rubbing elbows with Combine Advisors?

Wallace Breen has been confirmed to be brought back to life by Combine in a body of an advisor, to be exact in the one you encounter in the middle of the episode 2.

2:33 wasn’t he resurrected as one of the host? I remember reading the plot for Half life 2 episode 3 where we can chose to kill him or not but I’m pretty sure we’re not going to do that because the story was scratch
Half life Alyx is a prequel to Half-Life 2. Great video but if HLX were to be Half Life 3, Gordon would not be continuing off where Alyx ended. It would have to be a kind of sequel to Half-Life Alyx. Great video!
Man first sparking zero then sonic x shadow generations and finally half life 3 wonder what peak is coming out in the next couple of years (oh yea and gta 6)
People have to stop presuming that this half life 3 there is no real evidence to prove this is not another spin off, tech demo or something of that kind
You said that there is a possible connection for Nihilanth in HL3 if we are going to Xen, while there's no clear indication that he might be alive or relevant to the story anymore, but you left Wallace Breen at "yeah he ded" without entertaining the possibility he transferred to a host body, something that he clearly says himself in HL2EP1. This isn't some harsh criticism, but I did find it puzzling.

Correction: G man is not disappointed in Gorden but rather said (he is unable or unwilling) referring to the state Gorden is in now after the vorts managed to rescue him for the stasis in EP1 and stayed protecting him since hence the (unable/unwilling), and now he needed a plan B to fall back on where Alyx comes to mind to him.
well if Gordon is unwilling, G-man is probably disappointed. Even G-man's face shows annoyance during that line, along with how he acts in episode 1 when the vortigaunts separate him from Gordon
Let's just see who is where on the map before we un-pause the game lol
Everyone always assume that Breen died....
We never got a confirmation.
Breen was not killed, his mind sent into a host body (administrator)
Yeah, kind of like GLaDOS in Portal.. living forever through an endless supply of host bodies, you can try to kill him, but he'll be still alive.. in some form..

Would love to see a Portal character to appear, or even a new character with Aperture origins.
Doug Ratmann
I believe Dr. Magnusson would not be in new Half Life because the voice actor had passed away
Man that sucks, I didn't knew that. He did such an amazing VA with Dr. Magnusson. Rest in peace.
RIP. I dont think so tho cause the original va for Eli passed too and they just replaced him for HLA
They can just cast another voice actor
Both Alyx and Eli were voices by new actors in HLA
Since we got a Plot twist with HL:A it’s very likely that the events of HL2 haven’t taken full part, since Alyx got abducted by the Gman before she met Freeman.
Leaving it questionable if Dr Breen is really dead and not in control anymore

"half life 3 is getting closer every day" has been a statement echoed since the dawn of half life 2, episode 2
and a project that was Half-Life 3 was actually in the works before being cancelled, what's your point? Alyx alone is proof that there is more to come, I read The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx and they genuinely entertained the idea of ending the story with this game by (spoilers)
having Alyx ask G-Man to "nudge" Combine off Earth and he just agrees, and that's it for the franchise.
They ultimately decided against it and that means they have plans. Most of "HL3 IS DEFINITELY COMING NOW!!!" was just speculation, or leaks from the HL3 cancelled project, but HL3 is now (again) a distinct possibility.
@@KamKrzem Damn, im sorry, or congratulations. Idk, im not reading all that
well, it's more likely now than ever before
@@vibaj16 thats fair. Thank you
Man i tried 3 times to make sure the at worked. This is bs
5:07 in the scrap story she was in the borealis when Gordon and Alyx met her. Alyx blame her for her father death yeah
Announcement at the Game Awards trust me
I'm trusting you
I wanna trust you xD
I am trusting you Adrian Sephard
We all trust you
No. They'll announce it a few months before release sometime in late 2025
There are so many characters I'm not expecting to be talked about....
It’s worth mentioning that Russel and Laszlo may possibly be the same character.
"about those unforeseen consequences i owed ya"
6:31 i thought this was just mossman
My prediction is, she's not Black Mesa staff, at all; possibly a former Aperture employee/escapee (same thing). How she could possibly know about the G-Man and his being seen at Black Mesa, I don't know. I imagine G-Man only *allows* people to see him, and only because he is about to manipulate them. To what end was this nameless, faceless woman being used, and when/how did she start rubbing elbows with Combine Advisors?
2:47 Calhouns Rizz is unstoppable
By the way, this came from another TH-cam channel father Gregory did die in the canceled Raven home game In the leaked of the script for the game father Gregory was going to develop a immunity to head crab zombies when he was testing the cure he infected himself Turning himself into a zombie keep in mind. These are just leaks Valve can change the storyline whenever they want this leaves father Gregorys fate undecided
Wallace Breen has been confirmed to be brought back to life by Combine in a body of an advisor, to be exact in the one you encounter in the middle of the episode 2.
Confirmed by who? If you mean Epistle 3, i don't think Valve wants that to be canon, especially since they retconned the HL2EP2 ending.
collate green is scientist no one can convince me otherwise
hey bro just a warning. The game isnt announced and it isnt confirmed. They have and they will cancel it if they want to like many times before. keep your expectations low brother
Nah it's happening this time
It’s never cancelled, just delayed. We’ve been waiting nearly twenty years and they’ve worked on a half life 3 or other half life projects various different times.
in the last hours of half life alyx, the devs specifically stated they are not afraid of half life universe anymore, and are willing to continue working on new games from half life series
@@0Blueaura Yeah, that means nothing really.
it's closer to completion than any previous attempt at creating HL3
Theory, HL3 will be playable in VR and keyboard, mouse/controller.
2:33 wasn’t he resurrected as one of the host? I remember reading the plot for Half life 2 episode 3 where we can chose to kill him or not but I’m pretty sure we’re not going to do that because the story was scratch
I can only dream of Shepherd making a return, it would be so awesome! ;-;
Half life Alyx is a prequel to Half-Life 2. Great video but if HLX were to be Half Life 3, Gordon would not be continuing off where Alyx ended. It would have to be a kind of sequel to Half-Life Alyx. Great video!
I really hope that G-Man uses Adrian to fight off Gordon.
Man first sparking zero then sonic x shadow generations and finally half life 3 wonder what peak is coming out in the next couple of years (oh yea and gta 6)
I wonder if they're going to call it half life pi or something just to avoid having the number 3 in the title.
People have to stop presuming that this half life 3 there is no real evidence to prove this is not another spin off, tech demo or something of that kind
What world am i in where 20 years after half life 2s original release people are starting to get hype for HL3 again
Stopping kids from saying first.
Dr coomer is gonna show up in hl3 and save the day
6:33
That unnamed Scientist was talking primarily about the G-Man, not Gordon.
most in white forest base as i remember (if half life alyx is not canon)
It’s NILEanth not Nehellanth
who said HLX is HL3 ??
adrian shepard my be loved
Maybe the unnamed scientist from Half Life: Alyx is Colette Green?
gordon why you fail
Gordon failed? How do you figure? It was the vortigaunts who were preventing Gman's actions involving Gordon.
0:13-0:14 thats not the combine.
thats an alien grunt
Am I trippin' or did he say "the combined?"
This isn't some harsh criticism, but I did find it puzzling.
also 6:34 she mentions G-Man, not Gordon. And yes, Valve confirmed they have plans for her.
Lamar will meet wheatley ?
YES
U do know that mossman is Alive and well , ehehehm entropy zero 2
I don't think have like half life 3 will be related to alyxs I think the original games and hl3 will be in the same time line
We're not getting half life 3, we're getting full life.( Or 1 life )
2:21 I don’t get it we seen Dr Breen in half life but it was on the exclusive game HL Decay PS2 btw but he was in a wheelchair how the hell is he on 2 feet in the sequel plus in this picture he was walking
Not the same character
That was Dr. Keller
What is this writing? was it made by AI???
AI doesn't know some of these characters at all, It's not AI. 😂

half life 3 is never coming outlmfaoo come on now
Everyone is hyping the crap out of Half-Life 3 but did everyone forget how Deadlock was supposed to be? Did everyone forget that it was supposed to have every single half life, team fortress and pretty much every ip inside of it?
Everyone is "BUT BROOO THE HEV SUIT AND WHATEVER ELSE LEAKS" they can just be placeholder files, reason as to why maybe they got renamed to avoid having fans get hyped about something that might not be a reality.
Please keep your hype and expectations under check to not be disappointed in case it's another Deadlock case where they were using placeholders from other games in order to test it more easily until the official assets were ready
