  • EVERLASTING I HOW TO COOK MARIKINA EVERLASTING HAM I PINOY RECIPE I HARDINERA
    More often called a ham but indeed its a meatloaf. Everlasting is another favorite recipe during the holidays season because of its taste and appeal on the table on noche buenas and fiestas. It is ideal for a big celebration party as it could be cooked ahead of time (1-2 days) prior to the day of feast. it was named everlasting on a belief that it wont spoil easily and would last longer because it has been cooked twice and can be stored inside the fridge and serve cold. Thank you for visiting my channel. Below is the recipe modified a little bit thru experience. Hope you enjoy it. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
    RECIPE:
    I kilo (2.2 lbs) REGULAR ground pork
    6 beaten eggs as binder + 2 boiled eggs for topping
    1 cup yellow onion or (1 large)
    2 tbsp garlic
    3 slices of ham or (frankfurter hotdog) diced
    1 medium carrots, diced
    1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
    1/2 cup raisins
    1 cup tomato sauce
    2 tbsp catsup
    1/2 cup green pickles
    2 tsp. salt (adjust according to your taste, I used 2 tbsp)
    1 tsp. ground pepper
    1/2 cup grated cheese
    1/2 cup bread crumbs (optional)
    1 cup pineapple juice (add more if necessary)
    TOPPING GARNISH: 2 eggs (boiled 8 min only so that its perfect yellow no green ring) carrot, bell pepper, pineapple slices.
    GLAZE: the regular Everlasting recipe does not need any glazing, this is only my personal *touch because I wanted it to look more festive like christmas hams.

    Looks nice and yummy! Yes, it’s true usually it’s serve without glaze. Kaya mas okay if it is serve with a glaze dahil makakadagdag ito ng mas masarap na lasa. I also cook special embotido ( ingredients are almost the same). For binder I use eggs, breadcrumbs and milk. I mix them well to combine then add to the final procedure. Always, before I steam I have to take around 1 tbsp. and fry it to know the taste before I steam them so this is the same procedure how to cook everlasting and thank you for the recipe. 🌟😋🙏 God bless.

      Hi Ma’am Patricia I’m sorry Po late ang reply ko. I used a cookie cutter then NILAGYAN ko Lang ng butas sa gitna actually square Po yan mahirap kasi ang bilog. Normally Po sa atsara I just cut the edges of carrots na pa triangle mukhang flower na din naman. 😅🥰 same with bell pepper. Happy New year Po and salamat sa pag bisita sa channel ko.       Hi Ronnel, thanks for asking, honestly di ko pa na try without egg because yan Po kasi ang binder para di loose ang giniling, I guess you are allergic to eggs that’s why you’re asking. Puede Po cguro ang flour or cornstarch maybe 2- tbsp sa 1 cup na water. Just adjust the liquid because like I said di ko pa na try, but I’m sure flour is also a binder. Happy New year Po.

      Actually nagawa ko na po sya nung Christmas and nagustuhan ng mga kamag anak ko, nag request yung isa kong tita na allergic sa egg na gawa ako ulit yung hindi egg ang pinang bind sa meat. Try ko po muna. Salamat po

    I once saw a hardinera recipe in the 1970s or 80s in a magazine that was colored white and not red. It had all-purpose cream as ingredient. Do you have a recipe for it?

      Sorry, I haven’t seen such recipe. But I think over the years that passed by it was replaced by some cook and used cheese instead. Well, recipes like tech are being innovated ‘too. Please check hardinera recipes online but I guess even the queen of hardinera from Quezon uses cheese nowadays. Btw hardinera is somewhat different from everlasting bec in hardinera it’s made from chunk of pork. The process is somewhat similar bec I think everlasting was made like hardinera. (Just a thought) thanks for dropping by. Perchance u want to do the cream, please do instead of cheese. 😊 🧀

      Hi, if you have (wax paper) that’s almost the same, it’s usually sold beside the aluminum foil in your groceries, originally dahon ng saging ( banana leaf) is being used &wax paper is just an alternative sa walang mga saging.

      Hi! 6 eggs po ang naging binder niya, ang bread crumbs po is optional, nilalagay po if masyadong soggy or Ma tubig ang mixture, in this case po halos nga dry masyado so I added 1 cup more pineapple juice. Please see my first comment or in my description box. ☀️Thank you.
