    Re installed the advance on my bike. Couldn't time it. Turned out I was 180s off. Stared right up after that. Great Vid Brian. Thanks

      Common problem. I’m 99% sure I got it right. We will find out. :) thanks, Greg.

      I never knew of the arrow and the number up on top.

    Thanks for this video. Super helpful. I'm doing this exact same thing this weekend on my CB360. The advancer moves but definitely needs cleaning and lubing.

      Make sure it’s silky smooth and that those springs are worn too bad. Good luck! I’m glad you found the video helpful.

    Should there be any slack before the springs engage? Would this indicate springs are worn? Thanks great video

    Those tiny washers are not the same. Two are thrust washers, and they go under the advance weights. The regular flat washers go on top just under the keepers.

    did you ever get that other points advancer apart? I've got one on my CB175 that appears to be seized as well. would prefer to save it if possible before buying a new one!

      I did. Bath in Evaporust freed it up eventually tho!

    I bought a different advancer from ebay and now my bike back fires. Do I need to adjust the advancer or something?

    • @KeepOnWrenching
      @KeepOnWrenching  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t think it’s the advancer. Check the points timing.

    How do u get it off? I can't get the bolt to spin off without spinning the whole assembly.

      You mean from the engine? When you turn the hardened nut the engine turns?

      @@KeepOnWrenching correct. Like it's turning over.

      Do you have the right side cover off that exposes the clutch plates and oil sling?

    • @KeepOnWrenching
      @KeepOnWrenching  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If the right side cover is off you can put a penny between the smaller gears near the oil sling to stop the engine. The penny is soft enough so it won’t damage anything.

    Interesting....I only have one spacer

      I got the other one (the seized one) apart and it only had one soacer. So apparently it varies by each one.
