Or get the E2M4. Cheap, with great slow motion and fantastic low light capabilities! Even at ISO 51200 (in prores) you obtain decent images, with filmic grain.

Was considering selling my S6 but held on to it bit longer simply for the reasons in this video. FX3 doesn't do 6K and still has the Sony noice issue as my A6300. Also the several resolutions I can shoot on this is still one of the reasons I'm holding on. All the cams I mentioned are excellent. I've shot gigs on many and I know how to get the most from them. Thanks for this video.
The latitude of Arri Alexade footage is quite a lot bigger than that of the Z-cam. The Arri has 14 stops of usable DR. The Z-Cam has 11,5/12 stops of usable DR (CineD labtest). The other 2 stops contain so much noise that it's not usable, even with noise reduction applied. That being said, it doesn't mean the Zcam is a bad camera at all.

In terms of color science its a closest camera to Alexa 35
Great video! My one concern is, before buying... is editing in Resolve. I've heard that it's a problem. Current setup is a GH5 and Ninja V.
That’s a good point🤟🏼 For my workflow, I end up having to convert the ProRes footage in the adobe media encoder before I can take it to DaVinci. However, if you are recording in H264/H265, it should work properly🙌🏼 But ya, DaVinci not accepting ProRes footage is garbage💀😂

I currently have a a7iii but looking to upgrade to this camera. Would this be a good way to go to shoot football content/ high pace activities?
This would be one of the few cases I would recommend something else… only because the rolling shutter on this camera is slightly noticeable. I would possibly look into the a7iv, a7siii, fx3, or fx30. Still being able to use the emount glass your have collected with your a7iii🤟🏼🔥

Good points in this video. I have the F6. I am struggling now with using this camera on a DJI gimbal. Because you need a monitor, I am having trouble trying to balance the camera, but also keep it tethered to the monitor at the same time... Do you use a stabilizer and do you have a video on your setup? Thanks!
I will break down the S6 to a gimbal occasionally👌🏼 When I do, I use either the rs2 or the crane 3s. When it comes to having wires intertwined while using the gimbal… it’s very tough to keep the camera perfectly balanced. I usually get it to the closest point possible then auto tune when I turn the gimbal on🙌🏼 It hasn’t failed me yet🔥🤟🏼

I heard that working with davinci and filming with the z cam may be a problem. Is that correct ? So you can‘t use the zraw in davinci for example
So I don’t use zraw much at all, but I do know neither ProRes Raw or Zraw work natively with DaVinci… this is why I use both Premiere and Resolve. However, there is a ProRes to Cinema DNG converter that I hear works great!

I'm planning to buy a Zcam E2 F6 camera but I'm still hesitating about the monitor recorder. nija 5 plus or blackmagic video assist that you can film in Braw and knowing that I use davinci resolve .that makes life easier
the question is which of these two monitors offers the most possibility in fps
also i heard that proress raw is better than Braw
but apple proress raw I have to convert to Cinema dng that's one more step

Yo! I definitely understand the debate😅😂 Personally, a ProRes Raw workflow works better for me. Especially when it comes to sending projects and files to multiple different people. However, BRaw will DEFINITELY save time in your workflow… I believe it really comes down to what is going to ease your workflow the most. I know more about the ninja than I do the BMVA, so I know with the ninja you can control the zcam settings, which can be annoying on the actual zcam. With that I would say the ninja… but if the BMVA can control zcam settings… then I would say the BMVA🤟🏼 Hope you got something out of this😅💀

I’ve never used my ninja v to record, perhaps I should. Is the diff between 10 and 12 but massively noticeable? Something I haven’t researched tbh
Also one con I think you may have missed is the internal audio pre-amps. I cannot record any usable audio into the S6 - is this something you have found a fix for?
Definitely try recording through the ninja, it’s a small difference, but definitely one you’ll notice in davinci🙌🏼

Its honestly dependent on what the look is you’re going for… From my experience, full frame tends to look more digital, and super 35 less. But that isn’t always a bad thing. It really depends on what you will be working on and what will fit more of the equipment you already own.

I have a question please.......I got this camera a few months back and built it out according to another TH-cam video but had to put it on the shelf for awhile because the RVLVR wasn't working I had to send that back to the distributor....but since then I lost some steam on the learning curve......I have my z-cam settings set for 2.14 4K. and Flat and 24 fps with shutter speed at 48......I just got the atomos and was curious about getting the 12 bit color you talk about on this video....how do I achieve this??? do I need to have the settings on the atomos set a certain way to achieve this 12 bit color?? This is my first camera that records RAW files so I seem to have my hands full with all these new settings.
So this may answer your question… it may not💀😂 To be able to get the 12 bit color, you need to make sure you are recording through the monitor itself. With that being said, the zcam would need to be set to “record over HDMI” in the settings and you would need an external SSD which is compatible with the Atomos Ninja V. After that, you would go into your setting on the atomos, and change to a prores raw output.
So recap😂
1) RAW over HDMI
2) External SSD for Atomos
3) Change input/output recording settings on Atomos🤟🏼

@@RiverCody Well since the CFast cards came out rediculously expensive...I got the CFAST adapter that has an SSD card in it...its the Zitay if you are familiar with it....I still need to learn the work flow on moving files in and out of that...I have all the stuff just haven't done it yet....(All this shit is a huge learning curve for me). Raw over HDMI...I will have to scroll through all the menus to find that no problem.....external SSD for Atomos....I think wont be a problem.......but knowing which input/output record settings on the atomos....this atomos is very nice but I never owned one before....much is automatically assumed that you understand it up front....im sure familiarity comes with time but knowing what file types are best for me...I just want to make cinematic looking films...so 24FPS Shutter 48 ...4k or 6K....do I use Flat or does atomos have a better choice that will allow the 12 bit color profile?? this is where I start to get lost....my Atomos did not come with a start up guide I got it from a friend. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.
Yes it’s definitely a learning curve💀😂 maybe I’ll make a video going over all of it… it’s a lot to breakdown that I’ve gotta look at the Atomos and remember it all😂 In the mean time, those first two steps will start the process of getting the most out of your zcam and monitor🤟🏼
@@RiverCody I tried to change the record field to "RAW over HDMI". but it just stays at off.....is that because of another setting that must be setup first??
It may be because you have to have a monitor with an ssd connected through hdmi before you can turn that setting on… I should be getting my zcam back soon and I’ll be able to make a video covering it all🤟🏼

I mean, I’ve never experienced any issues… It still works great for me🙌🏼 I’m actually considering doing a Ninja V give away pretty soon, so you might not even need to buy to test it out👀 In the mean time, I would rent it from a gear rental house just for a day or two and test it out!

Just Try it for zcam's ProRes and u will never back to dslr cameras that write h264/h265 inbody!
