    I'm typically not the biggest watcher of finance videos on here but I love your transparency of how much you make on TH-cam. So many people say they will tell you but they give you rounded numbers or don't actually show all the figures like you did. I appreciate your transparency and have subscribed to check out more from your channel moving forward =^_^=

    • @CalebBaleFinance
      @CalebBaleFinance  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That's fair haha. Well I'm happy I could help. One of my goals is certainly to be transparent about numbers. I hope that you can find some benefit from the finance content here! Coming from someone who doesn't tend to watch finance, if you think of any topics to cover, hit me up and I may add them to my content ideas!

    Thank you Caleb for letting us aspiring creators peek behind the scenes of what happens surrounding monetization. I’ve grown to 768 subscribers but I’ve recently been posting a lot of Short videos. Those “Shorts” views don’t count towards the 4,000 watch hour requirement so I’ll have to start posting more long How-To computer videos to reach the threshold. My content is focused on several different topics which it makes it harder for TH-cam to figure out who my core audience is. I just like so many different things and want to share all of them. Congrats on your channel’s growth and thanks for giving everyone motivation to continue! Cheers - Jason

    • @CalebBaleFinance
      @CalebBaleFinance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely, Jason! I certainly get the struggle with different topics. But for what it's worth, you can try a lot of different things within a niche too. I'm still doing that and that can be pretty fun.

      @@CalebBaleFinance Hi Caleb! Here's an update on what ended up happening on my TH-cam journey. I decided to focus on posting only I.T. / Windows PC related videos and my channel finally reached 1,000 subscribers. The watch hours were under the 4,000 threshold so I had to wait until the channel had almost 1,200 subscribers before it hit the 4,000 hour target. TH-cam quickly monetized my channel on December 7th. A few months prior, one of my tech videos started taking off and after the channel got monetized, TH-cam sent it another 100,000 viewers over the next two months! My subscriber count zoomed up to 3,245 (as of today) and since December 7th my channel revenues have exceeded $400. Like you said in your video, it sure does feel good to finally get rewarded for all of the hard work. Thanks again for posting this video and getting everyone excited about what's to come. I see that your channel is growing and I wish you the best for the future! Cheers! -- @JasonBagnell

    It’s stupid hard to grow here on TH-cam! You used the word “resilience” and that is definitely something any content creator needs to have! I’ve been at this nonstop, posting 2-3 videos a week, for going on 4 years as a gaming channel (highly competitive) I do this mainly because it’s my passion and not so much for the attention or revenue so I might be an odd one but I totally understand why so many creators drop out. The amount of money earned is definitely not worth effort so I highly advise people find a different reason to do it if they chose to.

    • @CalebBaleFinance

      @GReimerGaming you say "highly competitve" but your videos are doing random stuff Minecraft mods? Buddy you need to stop lying to yourself, you probably just saw that minecraft streamers are getting high views because they cater to younger audiences. There is nothing competitive/unique/differentiate yourself for any of the 1000 other channels that are trying to copy the 5 top minecraft youtubers. Well as long as you keep it as a "hobby" and you dont keep lying to yourself that you are a "highly competitve gaming channel". If you still dont get it take for example mister caleb over here , he made a video about his paycheck as a small content creator ------> me random guy clicks on the video because its unique and im curious . Couple of more videos like this and mister caleb will pool in a bunch of random subs from everywhere and start getting youtube algorithms on his side. Meanwhile ur posting copy cats minecraft videos that are just worse products that top 5 minecraft channels. Hope this helped, also Caleb great video!

    More channels should do this and it's nice to see a smaller channel showing the behind the scenes as it is really inspiring. Everyone starts from 0!
    Here's some advice for those scrolling by:
    I used to upload nearly every day, but I've taken a lot of breaks and changed niches every time. Consistency is definitely key and don't stop. Consider creating shorts (there's AI tools that will automate the process for you) and take advantage of other platforms (1 or 2 at the most just starting out). I'd say Twitter and TikTok. I'd also say GET GOOD AT THUMBNAILS. You don't need to be a graphic designer, if you're in the gaming niche then you should use programs like SFM.
    Most importantly, don't obsess over the numbers, it'll drive you crazy.

    This guy is legit. THIS is a realistic take on how the content creator thing works. I saw a video (and there are many just like it), where a guy talked about how he got over 500k subscribers and made over $600k in his first year on TH-cam. $600k. In his first year. That's insane. He then went on to say that his goals for the next year was $2 million.
    That kind of success is so, so, so rare. So rare that it should be illegal for them to post videos touting their success without including a disclaimer saying something like: Results represent about 0.00000000000001% of people.
    Seriously, I think these people are so delusional that they think their insane success is due to their "hard work", when in reality they got crazy lucky and just won the YT lottery.

    • @CalebBaleFinance
      @CalebBaleFinance  ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, yeah I saw that video too. It's pretty insane and I think this is more realistic when it comes to the normal creator.

    • @oopalonga

      lol right? plus there's a lot of people who leverage with other platforms (i watched one guy who was giving advice on how to grow a youtube channel and how his first video had a ton of views--i watched it, and it was decent, but certainly it didn't add up--well come to find out he had retired as a pastor, so i'm sure his entire congregation was sharing it amognst themselves which really helps for the algorithm). the true reality comes when u browse channels on the "youtube help niche" and see how many channels are, for lack of a better word, 'failing' despite having relatively decent to mediocre content. Generally, i'd say youtube has to be one of the WORST ways to make money if that's the main driving force of the creator.

    • @CalebBaleFinance
      @CalebBaleFinance  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, my understanding is the 500 sub mark is for creators to be able to actually do more crowd funding from their channel with channel memberships, super chats and other things. I believe monetization for ad revenue is still at 1000 subscribers.

    I got partner around the same time period, literally. Though I am a gaming creator, so that changes things a bit and I went for mostly shorts before they were monetized and lost out on a HUGE potential income earning position as a result. I literally post 3 shorts a day and have been doing that for about a year and a couple months now. Before that time period I'd either "mistakenly" upload like 10 shorts not realizing the harm of posting "too much" (yes it's actually a thing) or I wasn't consistent. Once I decided to go consistent with shorts was when the numbers starting going up at an alarming rate.
    It also took me a year, roughly, to go from almost no subscribers to the 1000 and 4k watch hours. Now I average around 5k-7k views per day. Though shorts monetization is stupid low, so you have to make up with that low payment with more vods to get more views, etc etc. It's slowly growing, however, and I know eventually I'll be where I want to be as long as I continue to stay as consistent as possible.
    I've still yet to get my first payout, which is gonna be probably the bare minimum or near it. If i wasn't a one man show I'd start up some of my other projects on new channels of course. The one thing that people don't know or don't realize is that if you start a channel as variety of content you have to continue to be a channel that has a variety of content. If you grow a channel on one type of content, it has to stay that same type of content for that channel because if you deviate from the "norm" TH-cam will give you a friendly slap on the hands saying nope.
    And how I came across your channel...TH-cam recommended it to me because I'm constantly "learning" new techniques from "TH-cam University" (LOL) on ways to better manage a youtube channel. I always strive to try to learn something new about the process so that I can make adjustments that will maybe, hopefully, help increase traffic.
    Thanks for the insight and vod. It affirms what I tell people that ask me the how and why, which is that, consistency, no matter how much you can do on your channel, is the key to growth.

    • @CalebBaleFinance
      @CalebBaleFinance  ปีที่แล้ว

    A bud and I have a small, niche' channel focused solely on a Japanese rock band (I told you it was niche). We hit monetization in about 90 days but we have a pretty low critical mass based on our subject matter. We hit 1000 subs in about 2 weeks but the 4000 hours took the 90 days. We pull about what you are doing ($120 a mo) and we are at 2200 subs with between 2 and 8 uploads a month. Just depends on what is going on with the band. During a tour, we are VERY busy but off tour we get pretty quiet. If you're a small creator, you have to do it for the love of it.

Made it from 11 to 687 subs in about 14 months. It's kinda hard since I focus so much on a specific niche and it's not even a mainstream game or anything like that so the target group is much smaller, but on the other hand there's gonna be less competition and there's always a certain minimum income of views for guide videos, even if youtube doesn't push them on recommendation or front page, just from people searching on youtube and google how to solve stuff in the game.
