Nice work mate! would be keen to see a walk around and hear your thoughts on the new lathe.

Thanks. I plan to do a review on the lathe. Overall it's a very nice and accurate machine.

Nice stop. Tip on knurling - check the pitch of the knurl is close to dividing into the circumference of the part, then you will avoid poor tracking.

Awesome videos, can't believe i haven't seen your channel sooner.
Just one very small thing, the "-the" at the end of lathe is a soft "th" sound, and not aspirated.
Like "soothe", "clothe", "bathe", "loathe", breathe". And NOT like "cloth", "bath", "breath".

I know this is an old post but how would I obtain the drawings mentioned. Thank you.

Nice video! Any reason you didn't want to cut the bulk of the steel away before milling it?

Currently don't have a vertical band saw :(. If I did I would have definitely cut out the excess metal before machining.

What size mutifix tool holder did you buy. I have the same lathe and won’t to buy the same tool post ?

I bought the 540-300 tool post body and 540-311 tool holders for it and some 25mm lathe tools. The center height of the lathe can take even larger tooling but 25mm is way big enough. Reasoning being that if I ever get a bigger lathe I can move all the tooling to the new one. Also larger tooling doesn't cost much more than smaller tools.

Hey mate nice video. I just bought a al336d lathe. Haven’t done any lathe work since I left school 30 plus years ago. Would love to see some videos on threading if you can do some? Also if your interested in making and selling a carriage stop to suit my lathe I would be interested in buying one as I don’t have any milling equipment as of yet. May my next purchase. But seriously if you want to make and sell one let me know.
