Hey there! My self (70) and my oldest son (45) went on Oct 20, 2024, a Sunday. My wife dropped us off at the crossing on 407 at 6:45 AM. By the way this video is really good. Maybe the cloud cover helped make the video good. We carried about 10-12 pound packs with water and snacks. It took us 4 hours and 20 minutes to get there but we stopped 3 times and one of those times was for 20 minutes to eat breakfast. The whole trip the river was dry. Just before getting there we got into tall grasses and lost time being temporarily out of the riverbed and getting off track. Plus, we got separated once and lost about 15 minutes getting back together. So, in reality we had a good pace and made good time. Started feeling a little tired the last 30 minutes. We spent a little over an hour there eating and talking and going the length of the Narrows. Man!, those rocks are slick. The water was excellent and we had sunshine the whole time. The trip back was certainly a lot tougher and we rested at least 5-6 times, maybe more, but still made it in about 4 hours. Called my wife and were gone pretty quick it seemed. My son took videos on the way and they accurately show the terrain which we had not seen in other videos. I wouldn't call it real rough but it's not like walking on concrete or even most park trails. Only had a few moments of video while we were there because we wouldn't get the phone camera in the water and when not in the water, we were just enjoying being there. Never saw another person.

This is nice to see. Would rather see it live in person. Even if I had to leave a deposit to ensure we kept it clean and respect the land for others to see. These guys seemed like they are good and didn't leave trash or pollute the land. Bye Felicia

The easiest legal way to get there is if hike from County Road 407 and make sure you stay on the Blanco River bed the whole time. It's a tough long hike and be aware that land owners there hate people going to The Narrows and might call the police. Some people also carry printed law on a paper while hiking to Thr Narrows. Also not good idea to park on the county road. It'll alert the land owners and it's actually illegal to park on that county road now.

Bet the locals were quite upset. Bet some of them may be making comments here to dissuade people from going. Since they are such Jerks I recommend this to any advanced hiker, make sure you take rope, and under no circumstances should you set foot out of the river bed. There are cameras everywhere, also get dropped off the locals will vandalize vehicles left whether parked legally or not, and the local cops help them in their intimidation efforts. Know your rights, visit this treasure but please take care of it while you are there!

We park about 2 miles away took a bike and gain access on road 407. We had no issue with any landowners. The only issue is get Thur the gate walls they are setting across the river bed. We got Thur them. Take Plenty of water and a 75 foot long rope

Did you hike from County Road 407 or from Valley View Rd, and did you run into issues with land owners there? I've heard it's illegal to park on County Road 407. Land owners there and the sherrifs hates people going there even if hikers stay on the Blanco River bed. Land owners and sherrif there are corrupt from what people had been sharing online about The Narrows.

Ronie Calzoncinth I use the bike to ride from where I park my car to the beginning of the river bed off of 407. I did ditch it. Hike the rest of it. It was a total of 14 1/2 miles altogether. Make sure to check the weather. Get a early start. Luckily it was raining so it was good.

You afraid they might break something? This is such a Karen thing to comment.
