It's frustrating that quality is basically non-existent nowadays. I honestly think it's by design so that we just wind up spending more money on their products.
@@astrumdeus7098 very frustrating. I expect something like this to last for a decade or more but it is what it is. Thanks for the comment and Views brother you have a great day
Thank you for the update. It was your previous review that motivated me to go out and purchase one. Hopefully this is a “one-off” situation. I would be curious if you contacted Stanley about the issue and if they replaced it for you? I’ve had great experiences crotch them in the past and sent them a video of a failed coffee thermos that was hemorrhaging heat years 15 years old. They replaced it with no questions asked. But….you are correct that quality does suffer a lot in recent years. But give Stanley a call and please share back with us your results. I’m a curious.
They did have good customer service in the past. I need to check with them myself about my old one. The real shits about it is that my old one was made in USA. Even if they replace it, the new ones are all made in China junk.
I've tested their warranty in the past, they appear to be good to their word. My only guess is perhaps a few too many visits in the dishwasher caused the thermos to pop the bead that was supposed to hold in the vacuum(from what I recall it's either lead or glass bead they melt in place inside an oven). Hope the replacement is trouble-free
@@HewroPreez that may be true if I had a dishwasher. But I am the dishwasher. In other words if I'm not being clear all I do is hand wash dishes I do not own a dishwasher
@staginglightingsensation8505 no incorrect.1 when I first bought this I reviewed it on the channel you can go back and find the original review if you don't believe me there was no heat leakage through the walls.
Hi from a random TH-cam algorithm recommendation. Little context/filler if I may... Stanley had a new ceo not too long ago because numbers were becoming dire, the new ceo r"einvented" the brand and one of their hottest/most profitable items is the pink Stanley flask.. They have significantly increase their range into more consumer friendly options, for better or worse. Additionally, inflation has hit everyone hard, in reality the type of 10 year quality you are looking for isnt the 20$ options, it's more like the $50-60 'classic rugged' range or whatevers it's called. I seem to remember some reviews says it's better at heat retention and perhaps made in different area? If I dig it up I'll share the video link but in summary. You gotta pay more and dig harder to find quality nowadays. Very few brands have escaped the consumptionism market model...
@JLneonhug you may be right but this wasn't a $20 option this is a $40 flask when I bought it so is what it is. I will take a look into what you say I still have to contact them been working a lot of hours at my job so haven't had a lot of free time but thank you for the comment and views
Great review. I had a couple of good stanley coffee thermoses over the years and they all gave up the ghost after roughly 2 decades each. I currently have one that is barely 2 years old and made in China. I didnt know they were still made with a vacuum that could be compromised, at least not from a little drop or dent. Thats certainly what did it if thats it because mine have been rode hard and put up wet. Except for this new one. But you can just feel the weight difference of the new one and that the metal is not near as sturdy. I dont think id bother to buy a new one until they quit making them in that god-forsaken part of the world. Hopefully within 2 years they will start making good stuff in the USA again with some quality. Id wait.
@RoyatAvalonFarms thanks for the comment and Views brother. And yes I agree with you on where they're made and they shouldn't be made their 100%. But what I don't get is I never drop this there's not a single dent on it how does it just lose vacuum. I will be reaching out to the company here after the holidays to see what they will do or say about it and I'll let everybody know.

It's because the top lip is connected or goes from inside to outside. Heat travels out threw the lip

👎 because you posted a scathing review of the product without giving them a chance to make good on their part.
