Metallica still doesn't get enough credit for professionally recording every show, giving the video's to fans for free, being able to download the audio to relive the concert and so much more. Never seen a band do that and doing it so frequent
True that. We take it for granted, don't we? Thanks for saying it. And the quality is super good too. In the 90s, I used to go to a 'cassette recording shop' here in India and get their songs recorded. Couldn't afford to buy them. This might be the first CD I bought. Looks like a life-long love affair for me.
Honestly it may be them trying to make up for Lars' whole Napster debacle and suing regular people for an ungodly amount of money, or at least that's how I see it
@@locketom it may but I don't think it is because lots and lots of people forgot about it. They weren't the only artist sueing. I think this is just Metallica being Metallica and they like to give to their fans.
TRUE TRUE TRUE man!!!
I couldn't say better.
Finally a song from Death Magnetic! It's time to play All Nightmare Long!!💥
Hell Yeah!
and my apocalypse !
My favourite song off death magnetic! \m/
We need WAY more Death Magnetic played lived. Such a great album.
Plays Somekind of monster, invisible kid , more heavy low tune songs , sad but true and dream no more haves the same tune ( full step down) frantic and st anger isn’t enough low tune for a metal show invites Zakk Wylde to the stage , Robert can call him !
And play a real low tough song !
Please let this band lives forever
Amirul Amin they’re like The Rolling Stones of Metal. Always on tour and will do so till death 😂
it will be cause we are Metallica
Amirul Amin 🎸🎸😎😎🥰🥰
Loitering Rambler pour la vie
Loitering Rambler Damn Right!! My first Concert seeing Metallica live was WAYY back in 85!!!! STILL ROCK THEM ALL DAY LONG!!
One of the best "new" songs (after the black album) the band has written. A true Metallica tune. Melodic, creative, meaningful and heavy finish...
I love load and reload too
I still think of Death Magnetic as the new album and its like 13 years old now.
Tal e qual. Amazing
And heavy finish u mtfk right
Load was great
Fingers crossed for "The Day That Never Comes" to be on the S&M2 Setlist.
Really hoping so
Hoping for this the entire unforgiving medley , manunkind, am i savage , spit out the bone , halo on fire, end of the line, st anger, frantic, unnamed feeling, fixxxer, 4 horsemen, fade to black, ride the lightning, and welcome home and anaesthesia or Orion
I'd put money on that. I bet they're playing some of these rarer songs (like this, Clover, etc.) in Europe now so they'll be super tight for the S&M2 shows.
Oh yess 🤘🏿🤘🏿
Oh yes, please. You're right, this song would be amazing with orchestral backing.
Unreal how James has kept up the high standard of his vocals over the years. Amazing.
he did vocal training.. lol
@@CodeDonut It also helps that they play everything in Eb Standard.
and the dude smokes mad cigars lol that's next level
Yeah I remember 2019 being the best he'd sounded in years at least to me but I guess that can maybe at least partly be attributed to him falling back into his addiction by this time, which no one apart from the band and those closest to him knew about until they cancelled the rest of their tour the following month so he could go back into rehab. That's not to say he didn't sound great in the years before because he definitely did but regardless of how or why, for some reason he was incredible during this particular year
How the fuck can hetfield sing the verse while playing the guitar part! What a talent 🙌🙌
SO TRUE
I got one answer for you... He's James Hetfield 🙂
It‘s not really hard. But he is a legend
@@Paul72810 do you even play guitar? or have you tried singing while playing MoP's main riff? LMFAO
@@daftturnip51906 i play guitar but the riff of Tdtnc is not that hard. I mean he plays way harder stuff while singing.
Kirk needs to play that Les Paul more often. His tone is so good on that thing.
HardwareLust He plays on the “greeny” Les Paul quite frequently
@@joshspring6144 Yeah, that the Gary Moore one right? That sounded so good on Sanitarium.
Les Paul of 1M$, should be a good tone :)
Ol Ber 2 mil actually
He's always playing Greeny
So sad they dont play this too often, such an underrated song from an underrated album. I wish they played this at Bucharest, anyways, great live shows as always.
Ohhhh, da!
They played a lot of songs from Death magnetic in Quebec in 2008. Just an amazing concert, must be seen. They were so tight and played everything so good, just wish i was there
@@prestigegt4987 yes i know, ive seen it many times. One of my favorite concert
I think that's a great album with great songs but it's too overrated because of the mix that is totally messed up (too much compression for me)
(sorry for my bad English I'm French)
@@prestigegt4987 well I mean it was called Quebec MAGNETIC
This song is incredible. One of their finest in my opinion. Death Magnetic was a brilliant album.
I have that album. You are right it's a bloody good album.
I wish it had been mixed & mastered with more dynamic range, but the songs themselves are great.
@@pdegan2814 I heard the new blackened recordings vinyl releases are pretty good.
I have the Death Magnetic album and the Black album from Metallica, and the Father Of All Motherfuckers by Green Day.
I bought it when it came out in 08. Remember lots of fans not liking the album back then, but today the opinion has changed. I always liked this song, great arrangement and it's different from their early thrash songs.
Looking back...To think James was at the height of his addiction battle at this point and still ON POINT
Because he's a man and looked awesome with the hair growing damnit
Tu acha que ele continua Ingulindo?
What was the addiction at the time?
@@tun-tunninc.6492 Alcohol
My thoughts exactly. He won the battle again 👊🏻👊🏻 love this song
Still blows my mind that that les Paul has played numerous early Fleetwood Mac records and live shows, then Thin Lizzy, now Metallica.... what an awesome life ‘Greeny’ has had.
Metallica never gets old. This performance is amazing.
I want them to play this at S&M2!
The fact they brought it out for Europe makes me think they will. The symphony would fit perfectly especially in the first half. Crossing my fingers for U3 too.
Judging off of how well they played it here and how they brought it out so close to the show makes me think they will.
My guess is out of all the songs after the first S/M, they will play this, frantic or st anger (maybe both but idk), and a few from Hardwired
I’m only just now getting into Metallica, but god damn they’re good. The hype is well-deserved. I’m now a fan 🤟

I’ve only been listening for a couple years myself. I’m 68. I swear i just can’t get enough of them. What got me started was Robert Trujillo. These 4 guys are just made for each other.

This has become a proper Metallica classic for me. Went to this show.

You are so lucky 🚶🏻.
This album is kinda underrated tbh. I really enjoy it
It's my favorite post-Justice album, actually. It's all killer, no filler (oh, that instrumental is filler of course)
@@krisberntzen Agreed 100%. And it's Kirk's best record since Puppets, I'd say.
@@krisberntzen If Suicide & Redemption is "filler", you need a better dictionary.
I love the songs, but Death Magnetic is mastered so loud it gives me a headache to listen to it for more than 10 minutes. I used to have the Guitar Hero version that wasn't so overblown, but I lost it.
@@krisberntzen was.... was that a sum 41 reference? lol
One of the best songs, Metallica ever made. And especially Lars shows every time he plays this song another way of doing this.
The saddest lyrics ever written, even sadder than "Fade to Black".
I always got the feeling to lose it at "love is a four-letter word here in this prison".
People that have never been in a relationship because of their continuous struggling with depression can understand very well why.
im sure the song is about domestic abuse
projecting hard I see
This song is about a difficult relationship between a father and his son. While I agree that this topic is difficult, I believe that the topic in Fade to Black, which is heavy depression and the process of losing interest to remain alive as your soul becomes emptier every day, is heavier. I have known Fade to Black since I was a kid and it was my favorite Metallica song regardless of the topic, just melody wise. Then, after I became an adult and struggled with depression, the lyrics suddenly hit me very hard and very close to home. Helped my realize I'm not alone with these kind of feelings.
We need this song for S&M 2, same as The Unforgiven III.
The 3 unforgiven songs lml
We need a lot of things... S&M 2 should literally be a chronological ballad of all the songs they’ve ever made (including garage inc).
Ahh that sounds too good
UN3 is on S&M2, just without the band.
Only James and the orchestra.
You got it
I wish they played UN3 w/ the band
I'm surprised James' singing improved this much compared to his times in Death Magnetic's tour. Even compared to the start of the Hardwired tours. Keep going strong Metallica
Armand Klink now @metallica use reverb (a lot) and auto tune (pitch correction).
Was pleasantly surprised when I saw them in Manchester 👍🏻 Seems they have been taking note of things they need to improve and smashing it. Legends 🤘🏻
@@MichaelBryanC They really use auto tune?
he should. I dont want him to sound like shit on S&M 2
@@SeptemberSeventeenth No, that guy has absolutely no idea what he's talking about. They use reverb, but autotune live? Bollocks.
The thing about Metallica is that when you’re a fan, they don’t seem like they’re your idols.
They seem like they’re your friends.
As James says, “we’re all the Metallica Family”.
Born to push you around
Better just stay down
You pull away
He hits the flesh
You hit the ground
Mouth so full of lies
Tend to block, your eyes
Just keep them closed
Keep praying
Just keep awaiting
Waiting for the one
The day that never comes
When they stand up and feel the warmth
But the sunshine never comes, no
No, the sunshine never comes
Push you cross that line
Just stay down this time
Hide in yourself
Crawl in yourself
You'll have your time
God I'll make them pay
Take it back one day
I'll end this day
I'll splatter color on this grave
Waiting for the one
The day that never comes
When they stand up and feel the warmth
But the sunshine never comes
Love is a four letter word
And never spoken here
Love is a four letter word
Here in this prison
I suffer this no longer
I put it into
This I swear
This I swear
The sun will shine
This I swear
This I swear
This I swear

In my opinion Metallica's live performances are better than studio recordings. In sound and feel.
Actually, for this song, that's not that difficult... ;)

01:15... Silence....01:18 What an introduction!
I'll be honest, this sounds better than the studio version. James is on fire, and Kirk's Les Paul sounds even better than the Flying V he played on the album. Awesome to see that the band is still going strong!
That is not any Les Paul, that is legendary Greenie from Peter Green's and Gary Moore's hands. And what a treat to see this old beast still going on the road, despite being worth literally millions.

The Day That Finally Comes!!!
Give us All Nightmare Long PLEASE!!
I love how in the second part of the song James, Kirk and Robert just stand next to each other as they are displaying a masterclass of an instrumental passage. Just shredding together and enjoying the moment. It seems like their friendship and overall relations as band members were really healthy and good. They almost never did that during the 90s.
From 1994 to 2022 i still love METALLICA...
We wanna hear All Nightmare Long or other stuff from Death Magnetic!
Broken, beat & scarred too please
I Wanna that remastering the dead Magnetic

I'm addicted to this song.
It’s been so long 😩🤘🏼 finally some death magnetic and especially this song 😁🤘🏼
Wish they would have played this in Raleigh
Death Magnetic is an ordinary album that has problem with its sound (clipping) .
Дмитрий Симонов idk about an ordinary album. It’s great. But yeah the audio isn’t great
James and Kirk standing next to each other doing the same rhythm section is really serene.
Earth is 4.5 billion years old, and I am living in the time of MetallicA 🤘
So they say aha, don't believe everything you are told! 🔥🤘🔥
they matured as good as fine wine. Bunch of amazing performances lately and best of all - recorded in superb quality and uploaded on their youtube channel for us to see them for free! The music world will be a much colder placed when those guys are gone, so we should appreciate them as long they are still here with us kickin the stages all over the world!!
Kirk rocking Greenie in the face of all the haters and the stupid collectors who lock'd her up in a vault for too long, great to see such a legendary Les Paul out where it belongs: in front of a crowd making music.
The only reason that Les Paul is famous and valued is because it was played. It would only make sense to keep playing it. It's adding value and making sure an instrument made for playing doesn't sit around doing nothing.
He is playing the shit out of it
Gary Moore would be proud
@@johnthelesserofthethirdoft863 yeah it seems to be showing up on more and more songs that don't require a tremolo

Finally, some Death Magnetic.
When I Heard this intro live, I was very confused, but I got so happy when I realized what song it is.
1:45 kirk plays an imaginarie wah-wah, he even dreams whit that thing
No you nope
The techs do all their pedal work back stage
@@Reject_101 No Wtf
@@jwk4724 I don't know why you are saying no. That is exactly what happens. Metallica's TH-cam even put out a vid about their live rigs and its stated there.
Rejected Gamers if youre talking about distortion then yes. But kirk controls his wah and the tech has a universal pedal in case kirk forgets to cock it back.
This guy may detonate hence he never cease to amaze with the expression of his own soul.
Man I’m in love with Death magnetic
The second I saw this on the setlist, I knew it would be the live video we got from this show.
