Hey Naas, you are always a legend. I was at your wedding working with Union Caterers but I came late at night as I had worked 2 functions already. It was wonderful to see you and Karen and you had a beautiful wedding location out there on Lynnwood Road near Limelight somewhere. I also had a few great days at Loftus with the caterers. God bless you and your family. I now live in Austria since 2005. Gaeby looks like Karen.
I wouldn't say that, many came before him. True, he is a superstar but you cannot discount the greats of the decades before. Gerald Bosch was a great flyhalf before Naas. I could go on, one could argue that Danie Craven was truly the godfather of SA Rugby, Morne Du Plessie was a great captain and number 8......Naas came along when TV started highlighting SA players. About the same time, the greatest star of SA rugby and probably the greatest center of all time, Danie Gerber, showcased himself. I've never seen a better player in person, in my life.
@@nathitshabalala5414 I agree and Chester williams who played for EP was the first black player to become a Springbok back in those days. I'm not sure if he was the first black player on a provincial team , he may have been.
thanks for bringing this channel -- it would be great if Naas can really get into the technicalities of playing 10, strategic and tactical thinking that's he applied etc - good luck
Really enjoy the analysis by the legend himself, Naas Botha. I spoke with an old army friend who lives in England prior to the game. I said to him England have had 5 relatively easy games against various types of opposition and they used those games to drill their team into how they wanted to play in the semi. Well drilled, motivated and not jaded the way SA was after the France game. Things came undone after the bench was utilized. Our replacements were superior to theirs and not as worn out by France and Pollard calmly directed things from flyhalf. Good win in the end but not good for the nerves!
100% it's a game of 80 minutes. That's where the genius of Rassie and his team comes in. They know how to get 100% out of all the ouens. The WHOLE squad, not just the 23 on the day
Sterkte met jou channel en dankie vir die video. Sal lekker wees om stories te hoor van die begin van jou Rugby loopbaan to nou toe. Vroeë 90's was Naas en Gerbrand my heroes.
Our selection will have to be perfect. We played Scotland, Ireland, France, England and now New Zealand in the final. No one has had as tough a journey as the Springboks in this World Cup
As an England fan, congratulations to the Saffies for finding the way to win, well played. But if I were you I'd be worried that NZ have seen the weak spots and will exploit them ruthlessly.
Remember, Pollard kicked in the wet as well. Very tricky footing, limited distance and slippery ball, probably not the best visibility too. That made converting kicks challenging. Naas would agree.
Dankie Naas! Beste rugbybrein ooit in SA . Sal nooit jou en Ray Mordt se dieë in New Zealand in 1981 vergeet nie! Mag die rugby ouens aandagtig luister wat jy te sê het.
Looking forward to this channel growing and improving.. Gaeby, Naas, both please need to invest in better microphones first, especially on Naas' side.. I see the pros always have these mics called "Rode".. they seem like good quality.
Naas, I reckon Ben O Keeff was hard on the Boks, those two early penalties set the tone of the game. Boks strong point is competing at breakdown and turning over ball, Ref. took away that from Boks. The weather helped England big time. Back three of England tall that helped them in fielding high ball. But Bokka still won, better team.
Naas should be flown over there..think your footing in wet conditions...taking controll..Newlands..Ellispark..pure genius..All humulity Rassie should fly you there..or consult...Manie can become a Naas in time..but forwards also to far back..
I saw that too... That was probably what prompted the England coach to make the changes. But at that point it was evident that they won't be able to take our pack for the last 15 minutes
Interessante gesprek, goeie vid dankie! Hoop Rassie is ook wys genoeg om Handre te begin op 10...en daar's ook nie plek vir Manie oppie bench nie. Dan bring jy nog 'n voorrie in, soos Jasper. Go Bokke!!

Ou Tosca, ek onthou jou van my Victoria-Wes video! Lekker om jou hier te kry by Naas se kanaal. Ek het grootgeword met Naas en Darren Scott wat halftyd vir ons analise gegee het. Say no more, I love this guy!
Naas if after a tackle a defender comes in and slows the ball down by putting a hand on the ball and then gets cleaned out, has he knocked the ball on in the ruck?
South Africa need to move out of the victim village , we were dominated by England so what , at the end of the day its 15 v 15 , we won ,move on from this swiftly we have a final to play.
In the end we wore them down. Stronger, more efficient after having a game that was not efficient. SA's scrum once again with the subs did it again. I must say that the weather was a major factor. SA did not do well against Romania when the rain came, they didn't score for 20 min. Other teams scored more , small points but we don't practice in the rain, Europeans do. England played well and used match ups well. In the end, they were overpowered as many times the All Blacks do, the Boks ate putting the screws on teams in the last 15 min
Dankie Oom Naas. You a legend and a rugby genius. Can you perhaps comment on the techniques of kicking and drop kicking. Why was Mannie struggling so much with his kicking?
Discipline, fresh players, from bench Kwagga and Deon Fourie best, need Eskom quick loose forwards.will play Du Toit with Mostert first halve lock and from the bench Etsebeth and Snyman. Faf And Pollard, De Allende ,Esterhuizen, Kolbe, Arendse, Jessie Kriel full back .Bench Willemse, Kitshoff, Malerbe, Mabombe
