@NaasBotha10 discussing the Quarter Finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup
Hello Naas. I really appreciate your videos. I hope you are going to make many more videos. There are many people who appreciate your honest and direct comments, especially pertaining to Rugby. Please keep making videos. Why not every day or at least once a week? I would love them short & to the point... Many rugby fans would love to hear stories of yesteryear. There are so many legendary stories that can be told. Will you tell us a story every week? All the best! Dankie!
Naas - you guys should do a show - conversational format - chatting ith former opponents, teammates - like over a beer and biltong / or coffee chat -- and really get into the highs. lows, funny moments, low moments, highs, the funny mistakes that most players remember - best days, worst days -- just a fun, free flowing , no holds barred, fun conversation about those days that will soon have none left to recall and record them.

I was so upset with with the Red card that was shown to Marcell I wrote the following rules for a Yellow or Red Card offence: Increase squad to 24 Union nominates 2 players for replacements for yellow and red card offenders per game. Yellow offenders: Position 4 - 15 1. If a player is shown a yellow card: a. Player get replaced by one of the nominated replacements. b. Nominated player must wear a yellow armband. c. After 10min nominated player goes back to bench and offender returns. d. Player gets suspended for 1 game after match. e. Union get slammed with fine. (to be defined by World rugby) 2. Second yellow card - follow point 1 with second nominated player. 3. Same process for follow-up yellow cards if nominated player available. 4. If first nominated player gets shown a yellow a. Second nominated player goes on field and first nominated player is benched for rest of game. 5. No more Nominated players no replacements. Red offenders: Position 4 - 15 1. If a player is shown a red card: a. Player get replaced by one of the nominated replacement. b. Nominated player must wear a red armband. c. Offender permanently benched for game. d. Nominated player stay on field e. Player gets suspended for 2 games after match. f. Union get slammed with fine. (to be defined by World rugby) 2. Second red: a. If nominated player available same process as 1. 3. No more Nominated players no replacements. Yellow offenders: Position 1 - 3 1. Replacement props or hooker on field 2. After 10min back to bench 3. Suspension and fine same as yellow above. 4. No bench on replacement Red offenders: Position 1 - 3 1. Replacement props or hooker on field 2. Replacement stay on field 3. Suspension and fine same as red above. 4. No bench on replacement Each union can deal with offenders financially as they deem fit. If no yellow or red cards shown during game - nominated players can sub players only in the last 10min. Have to get this off my chest!!!!!!!!
I just love the way Naas says "raagby" LOL
Hey Naas, it's about bloody time that you started your own toob channel, congratulations, you have a new subscriber, I am quite sure that this can become one of the top rugby channels on this platform. I miss the good old days of Darren and Naas, sterkte ou yster!!
Freek Burger was one of the top referees in SA back in the 80s - a nice gentleman - saw him ref many Currie Cup gamrs
Sam Cane's red card wasn't a red card just as Beauden Barrett's 'try' was the result of a forwards flying pass and a knock on from Half-South Äfricän, half-Samoan All Black player Mark Telea.
You think Barrett wasn’t at his best… Cheslin Kolbe didn’t show ANY of his magic … Barrett had the better game
The biggest difference between the two teams was success at kicks for goal. Both teams had four shots SA got all four, NZ only got 2. If NZ kicked as well, instead of the final score being 12-11 it would have been 12-17
Missed Naas voice. 😂😂😂. But you know Darrrrrrrin 😂
Freek , die rooi was 'n rooi as jy enige ander wedstryde die jaar gekyk het.
I like to listen to Naas Botha because I trust his judgment.
For a team to score try's from rolling malls is beautiful. Those are always the most exciting try's to watch
More people should subscribe to this man!
STILL EXTREMELY ANNOYED WITH THAT!😑😑😠😠😠🏉🏉🏉🇿🇦🇺🇲🇿🇦🇺🇲
100% forward motion of the ball before the bounce of the ball...it went forward from Telea's hands in the tackle from behind by PTSD....the forward motion of the ball before the bounce is obvious and explicit from a top camera view. It falls at least 50cm forward out his hands from the tackle into the intersecting corner of the 5m & 5m when Barret picked it up and went over.
Yrrrrrrr!!!....Freek still looks fresh...a proper blast from the past 😮
I have to agree to disagree on Shannon Frizell; if anyone on that field deserved a red card then it was him, the act of rolling onto a knee was deliberate with the intention of causing catastrophic injury and designed by the back room to put pressure on the 7-1 split, this was acknowledged by the officials who binned him for his action and the only mitigation which allowed him to return was that it was impossible to prove his intent.
Best discussion I've heard on these issues. Thanks.
I'm surprised Freek Burger is still around!
Looks like he can still ref..
Naas uitstekende program en Freek Burger is baie goed! Groete uit LIma Peru!
Joe van Niekerk...is dit jy???
Why no replay on that try since it was not clear not saying it was not a try just asking
I have to finally get this off my chest: It was the time of sports isolation, and provincialism was the order of the day. I was a huge Western Province fan. I was in the Free State Stadium for the Currie Cup Final between WP and FS in 1976. The curtain raiser was an u.19 match between Northern Transvaal and Free State. There was this blonde flyhalf from NT who kicked penalties over from impossible positions. The next year, Northern Transvaal had a pre-season practice match against North-Eastern Cape (NOK) in Cradock. That was my part of the woods and me and my friends drove from Noupoort to Cradock for the match with my mum's Ford Cortina (even though neither of us were old enough to qualify for a driver's license yet - but that is a story for another day😆). There we were awed by Naas's other abilities: eye for the gap, breaking the line, perfect passing skills and so forth. Regrettably, I was one of the crowds of people that booed him at Newlands when he played against WP, to try to disrupt his game, aim and composure. Today I am relieved that it had no effect and probably motivated him even more! So this is my little tribute (and apology) to Naas... The greatest flyhalf ever.
believe me, there are thousands like you who did the same, many didn't like Naas, but he stayed a brilliant player
i was also that day at the stadium watching that game,
@@Palmstreet-u7x It is not that we did not like him... We FEARED him.😂 In that same era we meted out the same medicine to the late great Clive Rice in cricket, for the same reason. Thank you, I really appreciate the consolation.🙏 Fans, hey.🤦♂
@@Palmstreet-u7x My brother!❤ Morné du Plessis got injured during the week leading up to the final. Anyway, I was in the northern stand of the Free State Stadium and FS was kicking off to WP towards our vantage point. I remember clearly that there was what looked like a dust storm where the two packs clashed, and I thought to myself: Oh f..k, WP is screwed today.
@eisbeinGermany lol..if he wasn't in your team you disliked him...but the talent was there to see
Good job gents. Thankyou.
Good discussion. Nice to see Mr Burger looking so well. Great ref in his days. This head contact thing is ruining the game. What`s stupidity is coming next - each player must wear a electronic Geiger counter to measure impact !! anything over a 4.2 is a red card... Ref`s mostly pick up on genuine foul play, I completely agree keep TMO for try line checks. Yes and these chongalolo lines behind rucks are ridiculous. Plus 20 % of todays tries Mr Burger would`ve rightly called back for a forward pass.
The problem with the rreed carrd is that it's too loosely arranged enabling player with ball in hand can milk a penalty stepping into a tackle. Owen Farrell exploited this to perfection against the Pumas in the 2019 WC crucial pool match
Most Kiwis also pronounce red similar to 'reed', the difference is that Afrikaans-speaking people roll their rrrrrrrs.
Thank you forsorting out the dissappointing finals.
Thank you for that, please keep it going... so much that we, the "older purist of the game" wish that our beautiful game should benefit from... "cleaning up" all this unecessary clutter that seem to be designed for more and more unecessary control of the players,.... where in fact the players are more and more antagonized by this.... AND most of the spectators do no longer enjoy the spectacle of good rugby anymore!??.. ..well perhaps like most of us I miss the good old time of what I still call "old proper rugby".. a no non sense approach to a game of men ....gentlemen game played by hooligans( soccer/football_ against the so called hooligans game played by gentlemen, our pre professional rugby)... and the latest is what we showed the world with our Springboks in France winning it against all odds and all oppositions and it seems as well against a bit of spitfulness & sour grapes from certains overseas medias ? I rest my case, please keep your vlog going and growing!
I agree with Ex All Black Coach - He said TMO should only be used to confirm tries. That's it.
Foulplay?
Yes of course an ex ab coach during the McCaw era would say that..No disrespect towards Richie..he is a great player..but wow..did he get away with those dark arts..
Dankie Naas.
Ja nee Oom Naas, jy VAT raak!😂
Thx Naas brilliant analysis as always. Would really have loved to see you as a Springbok coach😉
Hasbeen...
Kak praat op sy beste, but you played 14 and never scored a try or points in the second half, vote ANC Popeye you were out played..
Oom Naas het in die laat 1980's n standbeeld in Naboomspruit kom onthul. Die standbeeld was op die voor grasperk van iemand se huis. Ek was 9 of 10 jaar oud. Al die fotos wat daai dag geneem is het Oom Naas my Super Springbok rugby bal in die fotos vas gehou. Ek dink daai standbeeld is geskuif na Hans Strijdom hoërskool toe. Oom Naas was baas en my hero gewees
Hi Naas, please never miss a good opportunity to shut-up. We tried to watch the Springboks on tv in EL. You didn’t shut-up for a freaking second. You drove us all insane. You spoke mostly about yourself. It’s not about YOU! It’s about the 2023 Sprinboks!
Great analysis from a Springbok legend… his card analysis was spot on (7:42 to 11:05) As a All Blacks fan I’m gutted we lost… but we had our chances and didn’t take them… congratulations to the Springboks I’m saddened by the shit Wayne Barnes has copped… the TMO is the one who ruined the game but it’s World Rugby who has to answer for ruining the game (Old white 5 Nations men running and ruining our beloved game)
I watched a Naas Botha 57 min highlight video the other day. After watching i realised NB is the greatest FH in history to play the game and I know people will make a case for DC but let's be honest its not even close 😂
Naas Botha, what a legend! You will always be my no.1 flyhalf and tactician of the game. I watched your progress since I was a child. The way you manipulated the game of rugby was amazing. Next time, be on the panel. You are a true world champion in my eyes
on the other handNaas
Oom Naas, het jou gemis hierdie wereldbeker! Legend!
Naas asb man, Ons almal soek jou as die volgende Bok Coach. Dit sal nommer 5 wees. Asb.
Naas is baas
I did not even know Naas had a channel! Ek het vir oom Naas gekyk speel toe ek nog 'n laaitjie was! Subscribed immediately!
Tmo killing the game
Love you Naas!
The Springboks could quite easily have been 5 times World Champions. The Springbok team that destroyed the NZ Cavaliers in '86, could also have won the cup in 1987
