A jazzy take off from his phrasings of other performances of Red House. Wish Miles would have shown up to the session Jimi had booked for Miles at Jimi's studio.
The Randall's Island version is definitely the best. What ticks me off is that it isn't as well known as it should be, you can't find it on YT due the copyright BS and therefore alot of people have no idea about it. There are a bunch of compilations of live Hendrix but the one that got me into his live performances was "Voodoo Child: The Jimi Hendrix Collection" disc 2. It did a pretty good job of consolidating some of his best live performances.
Abc tv was doing a story on jimi at the time. They filmed that night, the footage is lost. Hendrix was also filmed at the harlem 125th street fair in ‘69. The ghetto fighters have the film
+haloskater24 Thank you. I couldn't remember if it was Buddy Guy or who. Was it Albert King? That was the late show, not the early one. King came on about 11:something
I didn't even remember who it was. I wasn't sure if it was BB King, Buddy Guy. I had to leave to catch a bus. Missed all but two tunes of whoever it was. It was like midnight they came on.
I sincerely thank God for giving us Hendrix
Mr. Jimmi Hendrix is often imitated but never duplicated!!
When he says yeah before ripping something delicious
he played with his heart
Aaaaall The way, He played with His Heart....Spiritual heart felt energy coming thru...Jimi!!
That’s how the blues are played🎸
Fantastic!! Thank you. He's just way way way the BEST. Amazing recording. Amazing musician. Amazing man. Beautiful. I love Red House.

Absolutely beautiful
He did a version at Randall's Island that was markedly different than this. That's what made Jimi who he was. On any given night...

I prefer Jimi over just about everybody. No offense to everybody.
Can't believe people put SRV in the same breath as Hendrix... Srv was cool but he was just a copy of the original RIP jimi.
For me I can't believe or stand people comparing Ronaldinho and Messi or Jordan and Kobe Maradona and the phenomenal Ronaldo, you just can't.
I concur Hendrix was the master and all the others were the students.
SRV himself would agree ... Hendrix swam the rest stuck their toes in
Absolutely. Jimi was untouchable. A genius.
Super Version.Hendrix ist ein Musikgenie.

I would really like to see the ghetto fighter’s film
Nice pace into the refrain, Jimi walking up the neck is something else, I need More PEACE. Bring me some if you may , DIG it.
During his solos when he hit that lean with his mouth open 🤯
Legend .
Jimi Hendrix Experience
Mitch Mitchell... yessir.
The motherfuckin Master
nice soon spiritual
👍👏
A rare photo due to sans strat. If he's playing this song with the gibson it sounds like the strings aren't as loose as a strat or flying V.
Sick.
🌟🌠💎🌟😉😎
sounds slightly thicker then that Strat, must be thee SG
+jonno63 or his Les paul
+jonno63 the sg with the middle pick up i think
Yea if the heading picture is accurate you can see its a white SG custom !
This is from the late show. I was at the early show. At my show jimi used a Les Paul on House
Jimi usually changed to the SG or the flying V to play He'd House. Seldom played it on a Stratocaster.
Albert king was at this show i think.
+haloskater24 Thank you. I couldn't remember if it was Buddy Guy or who. Was it Albert King? That was the late show, not the early one. King came on about 11:something
can you please tell me which flying v he was using? Was it the 66 or korina 58? thank you.
It was the '60s. If you were there, you can't remember it.
+PhoenixRichard dammit lol

Early show or late show? I was at the late one.

1968?
I was in 4th grade. Probably cleaning blackboard erasers.
did he play a gibson les paul ?
@@jabu003 Fillmore East 1968 should be Les Paul custom 1955.
This ‘68 show is a pretty common bootleg
Les Paul custom P90?
Check out Dhruv Erry's cover of this classix
Dammit Jimi!
