BEAUTIFUL QUILT - scrappy or not! Who really cares! Don’t like that Angela called it scrappy, move on it’s still a beautiful quilt! Angela, thanks for taking the time to create and share your wonderful quilts, quilting techniques and knowledge!
I am so happy you are back, I love watching you sew and giving us tips. Please show us your backs, I love to see what people do on the back of their quilts.
You're BACK!!! I just found this today!! I am so happy and thrilled. I am totally sure everyone missed you, your talent and wit, your wine'n and of course your beautiful quilts. Thank you, thank you.
Yes! I'm also glad to see you here again!! Thank you for sharing your talent. I do have a question- will you ever quilt a quilt on your long arm for us? I'm sure I'm not the only one who would enjoy watching you glide through that creative process. Thanks again for being here for all of us!
Oh, darn! I have one of those 2-1/2" containers full of strips and saw this and was so excited and then you used a jelly roll! Come on - let me see what it looks like truly SCRAPPY!
I am so grateful for any and all tips and tutorials from Angela! Thank you!!!! Love your style, tutorials and the fact that you're not a perfectionist. When I first started quilting I lived in a very AQS laden part of the states and the quilters were unforgiving and not very nice to beginners. I was sold an expensive machine because they told me I wouldn't be taken seriously on my lower end machine and the model was recalled by the manufacturer. Ugh. 8 years later, I am happy to learn from such a supportive and talented young woman and I make it a point to be kind and supportive to all quilters, young and old, beginner and advanced!
Thanks so much for finishing the quilt. So many quilter just put the blocks together and stop there. I like to finish the quilt myself, so the quilting strategies you teach are so helpful to me.
Love love this pattern!! Thank you so much! Great job on the video! Ive always been memorized by your cutting of the fabric, piecing, and quilting!! Really enjoyed the real time quilting too!!
Hi!!! I am quilting right now! I looked at my phone and you had put up another video!😃👍 I'm such a fan. 💐 You keep me going. Thank you for your energy. 💪🧵🪡 I have learned so much from you. 🤗
Angela, thank you for another wonderful video! A few years ago I participated in a shop hop where you received four or five jelly roll strips from each store. Of course none were actually part of a collection, just strips they had cut. I've wondered what to do with them - now I know and will order your pattern - definitely scrappy! I'd imagine I'll also make it with an actual jelly roll also as I liked the order of your quilt. I appreciate your chats, tutorials, and challenges more than I can say and that you provide it all to us for free is so very kind and generous of you. Thank you!
Goodness gracious folks! Some of you act like you didn't get what you paid for... you didn't pay for anything! There was no bait and switch, for crying out loud. This is a FREE tutorial! You all know how long it takes to sort and cut scraps. Can you even imagine how long these, I'll say it again for those in the back, FREE tutorials, take to create? Stop your dang nitpicking and repeat after me, "Thank you for the FREE tutorial Angela. Always nice to spend time with you".
Kia orana, m from d Cook Islands in d Pacific Ocean, been following ur show about quilt. So amazed how beautiful dey turned out. M a new quilt sewer but d only problem s we dont get d quilting foot. But dats algud , just to let u know I enjoy watching ur videos n da others.
I was hoping for a true scrap quilt, but this is fabulous anyway! And I love jelly rolls. And layer cakes. And charm packs. Anything I don't have to cut myself! Thank you for these inspiring videos. Truly fantastic.
This is a beautiful quilt! I can't wait to start on it. Your videos inspired me to start free motion quilting. It is great fun and I am so appreciative. Thank you!
Man, people are salty about the jelly roll. I mean how dare she do what she wants so we can be entertained and educated for free. I personally love the fact that she used a jelly roll. I'm newer to quilting and I don't have a huge stash I can just pull from.
@@AngelaWaltersfmq I Loved the jelly roll Idea because I actually tend to have leftover strips from other rolls. AND I too like to have control over my fabric placement. :) Thank you for all you do!
I was just thinking I need the midnight quilter back. Lol. Thank you. Your doing great. I so want to come up to your shop. Love that we can do scrappy or jelly rolls. I always have strips left over. 😍😍
Lovely to see variation in blocks and skills. I don't get much in the way of scraps, but I do have some jelly rolls decorating a shelf. I'd be quite happy breaking into one of them to make this. 💗
My favorite saying when a block doesn't measure up to size ... Well! yet, we still throw it in the pile (lol) Thanks for sharing that clip instead of cutting it out.
Please, may you finish the scrappy version and show a picture of it - maybe just the top - to have an impression of a really scrappy version out of the scrap bin?
I know I'm going to have a great day when it starts an episode of The Midnight Quilter! Just wondering if some of the episodes you could quilt on your longarm please? I have an Amara and I love watching you on the longarm! Thanks 🥰
I totally want to do this! I have so many random scraps from gifted quilts. Then I could have a quilt with all the gifts I've made sewn into one design!
I like the concept, using 2 1/2 inch wide units lets me work in jelly roll strips, or even cut down leftover layer cake or charm pack squares for various units, probably even some mini charms could be used. I know you have talked about batting in other episodes, but if you sell the type of fusible batting you prefer to use It would be great if it was linked with the other supplies so I could buy some.
I am doing a rail fence quilt to start and practice fmq (using your book) I figure a single bed quilt with defined regions will give me lots of space to practice different motifs 😍 scrappy gorgeusness!
Thanks for sharing. I think this is a lovely patchwork quilt, rather than a scrap buster. My scrap bin is full of off-cuts of strips and squares that are smaller than 2-1/2”, so I have few pieces that would work for even the “scrappy” blocks shown, in particular for the place at which 4 matching corners of 2-1/2” squares come together to make the equivalent of a 5” charm square. I may try this with yardage,,, but then I’d have more scraps. 😳
@@AngelaWaltersfmq WOW, we can add kids into the quilt as well, YES!!! although i'm not quite sure how i can stitch through the various layers of skin and bone, but i'll try, haa haa haaaaa. Thank you Angela for bringing out my strange sense of humour once more, lol.
I have the same issue with scrappy quilts. Even when I start a project that’s supposed to be scrappy (as in from my scraps), it inevitably becomes a precut project instead because I want to control the fabric placement. Now I’m trying to crumb piece instead, and I’ll try again in the future 🤣
Using a collection isn't a scrappy quilt! It would have been really useful for this to be made with actual scraps - tips on how to get a cohesive colour palette and such.
The pattern can be made with scraps and a jelly roll. Using a consistent color for the background and an accent fabric helps keep the quilt cohesive. The pattern also shows how to group the fabrics for a more controlled scrap quilt.
So glad you are back. I just tried to quilt for the first time. Wasn't very good. My stitches wasn't very good. I know all machines are different; but what stitch length do you set it on?
Where did you find that little triangular thread cutter! It looks so good for shutting the threads in chain piecing- I would like to buy one!! Couldn’t see a similar one on Amazon...... thanks
I would like to purchase the fabric, but can't get a PDF copy. Shipping will cost a fortune, please get back to me if there is a way to email the pattern? I loved it.
Good for thought I would like to add trees to my project ...I would like to just quilt them into the background...but I have no idea how to do it...a class on it would be great.

There is my lovely friend-who-I-never - met who motivated my first quilt! Wonderful to see this video!
YOU’RE BACK! Omg I had to look twice to make sure I was seeing correctly! Thank you so much!
So excited I just cut all my scraps to 2.5 in wide and then squares 3&2 in no wasted fabric beautiful quilt! I am so glad you are still on TH-cam 😍

This quilt came to life with your quilting designs! So pretty!
Use a lint roller to deal with the pinking bits!!!!!!!!! You have just saved me lots of future aggravation!!
I prewashed some Christmas Jellyroll fabric with darks and my black socks looked like they had confetti all over! I love the lint roller suggestion.
So so so beyond happy that you are back!!! Love this pattern!

I made a log cabin quilt out of such strips (but used coordinating colours).

So glad your back on! I love the quilt pattern.
The variety of color in your quilts makes them so beautiful.
I’m so glad you are back! I’m already looking forward to the next episode of the midnight quilter!!!
Really enjoyed your tutorial and so glad you are back. It's cool how the ombre fabric made the quilt look scrappy because of the color variations.
Love your quilt and designs in the top stitching. Thanks for sharing 👍❤️😊

Beautiful quilt and I love the music.
Come on, Angela’s quilting ability is outrageously awesome! Please... she maneuvers this machine with robot precision.
Fantastic quilt.... this so demonstrated the power of consistent value of an accent fabric.
I love this! This quilt is so cool it created a nationwide deep freeze! Now I know who to blame. 🤣
Fantastic way to use up scraps! Thanks Angela for another great show!
Happy to see the midnight quilter back. Love the quilt pattern.
I can’t do scrape either! I love the way you did it!

If I could get to Missouri, I would love to visit your shop and then my family and I would be watching the Speedway there too. Go Kerry Madsen lol
Yay!!! Angela is back!!! 🥰
Thank you for the hint of using a lint roller. Usually I end up wearing the stuff.
"Fabric fondling" 😆 love that!
