A picture of the fertilized egg would be helpful its merely a white spot with a slightly darker circle around it, dime size. That baby chick was way older than just showing a fertilized egg

Agreed....its usually half a centimetre across and is like 4x larger than the non-fertilised spot. But the photo he provided was like comparing a cell with a foetus...wtf...was there not appropriate stock footage or

I wish I could talk to someone about hatching. I have a hen who had 1 chick. And didn't want the rooster to harm it so I moved the whole nesting box, which had about 20 more eggs in it, and now she won't sit in the box, and the eggs are dirty, with flies around them, so I don't know if any of them will hatch.
I probably shouldn't have even moved her. I think I ruined her process.
This is my first time trying hatch, and it's the hens first time too.
And all the sudden I have about 6 more hens sitting at the same time. 😫
I'm going to end up having dozens of chicks soon, if I don't mess with them. 🤦‍♀️

I had a hen sit on eggs this spring and had same concerns. Just leave them all alone, it works out, just like the wild chickens... momma will protect her chicks from others in the flock if they get too close. ❤
